The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

You can make it even easier by writing or printing the addresses on labels and taking those with you. Just peel and stick and your post card is half done!
(well at least not yet)

Brilliant!

If I do that I will have absolutely NO excuse to not send those darn postcards!

 That binder is.. to put it simply :worship: I could never EVER put together something so complicated. I wrote down openings, closings, show times, and ADR/Resort confirmation numbers and times on my computer. Oh, and filled out my passporter

I have a basic idea of rides to do (will be my 3rd time to the MK, 2nd time to Epcot, and 1st to DHS and AK)

But wow that might just inspire me to throw together something similar! You're a very, very bad influence you know! :rotfl:

Your binder just brings such joy to my face :)

Your itinerary looks great. Are you still planning on getting a Henna tattoo at Epcot (it was YOU that was going to get one, right?)?

I never made an actual decision to start a pin collection. It just kind of happened. The kids have been collecting pins since our Christmas trip in 2004, so I guess I was feeling left out of the fun or something.

In October, I bought Tinker Bell as a witch:

In March/April I bought a Coronado Springs resort pin and a Pirate and Princess Party pin:

And then you have seen these two pins:

With five pins to my name, I think I am almost ready to graduate to a lanyard for the June trip. I think I would like a hot pink one -- either with Tinker Bell or Mouse Heads. That, of course, would mean I would need to get a few more pins to decorate it while we are there. That's the plan anyways!

We found the P&PP pin in Frontierland at the pin trading store there. We have the same one. I started my kids pin collection when we went for DD10 MAW trip in 2002. But they never wore the lanyards or anything. PLUS I had some old DL pins from each section of MK that I had in my jewelry box for years(those are no traders, never) and finally had a spot for them. I have 2 kids, so i did split the 4 I had b/t the 2 kids.We also had pins from GKTW and one from spending DD8's 4th birthday there in 2003.

This past trip, my 10 year old started a new pin collection. She got a new lanyard(the old one as pooh bear) and added all the rides she's never done before. I never even brought the old ones. Plus the P&PP one. So DD8 got into that action too! This past Feb '08 trip was definitely a pin racking up trip for the kids. DD10 was disappointed that after packing everything up on our last day and going to DD on the way out, she did not have her lanyard/pins. There was a lot of pin trading happening there that day. The only one we are missing is a LSU Mickey- we found an Ohio one for a friend, but no LSU. She will wear it everywhere next time, i know it!!

Love the binder and itinerary-take it easy, you have been blessed to be able to go as much as you all do. You know the lay of the land and what you like, so just enjoy the view and a few rides!!

I have a friend there now who has saved so long for this trip, she is thinking it will be the only one they take-maybe one when her youngest, yet to be born, is a few years old-but that may be it for them. Unless they get hooked this time, then you FIND a way!:cutie:

Hi! I just caught up! Let's see if I can remember everything I wanted to say. I was in the Science Olympiad as well and I won a medal in Write It-Do It as well. DF makes fun of me because he had never heard of it before, I am going to have to show him your post!
I have binder envy, I thought I was all organized with my notebook but I think I am going to have to make me a Trip Binder.
Anyways, loving your report!

Chelsea loves Science Olympiad -- she competes at state on May 17th!

Have I died and gone to heaven?

I must've looked closely at these for 10-15 minutes....I'm in awe...I love your cover page.

I like your theme of relaxing and not overscheduling....I think Wendy and I are slowly moving in that direction....SLOWLY.

High praise! :goodvibes To know you spent that long gazing at the binder brightens my day! I found the cover pages over on the DISign Boards.

I really hope I can stick to the relaxing!

That's a great idea -- I will pick some up when I head to Staples this week!

Charleston Princess you have the best binder...I was just happy to get my organized last night...but yours...I love that you put little pictures on you spreadsheets and info pages...very nice. I have Binder envy!!!

Thanks! :flower3: Remember, it is the work of the last nine months!

And you wrote Park-Nazi like its a bad thing :rolleyes1 At least I have scheduled in bathroom breaks (well at least not yet)

:rotfl2: I don't think it's a bad thing, but the rest of my family does!

Brilliant!

If I do that I will have absolutely NO excuse to not send those darn postcards!

I am right there with you!

Unless you forget stamps....so staple them to the label sheet!!!

Another great idea! You are my mentor in organizational tactics!

I have always enjoyed being a bad influence -- just ask my best friend from high school! :rotfl:

WOW! If I forget anything I will come knocking at your door!

You know where I'll be! :thumbsup2

STAMPS!!! You are so right! That is precisely why NO ONE got the 20 something postcards I painstakingly wrote when we went to Hawaii last year!

:rotfl2:

Your binder just brings such joy to my face :)

Yes! I totally need to write that down! Thank you, thank you, thank you for reminding me!

I'm joining in. Now I'm off to read. :surfweb:

:welcome: Thanks for coming!

The kids and I love hunting for pins. We can spend hours browsing the pin racks!

I would love to see pics of those Disneyland pins of yours!

What a great way to look at it -- thanks for the perspective! :goodvibes

Isn't that the truth!!!??? It's funny how we are able to save for Disney without a problem because we love it so much!

Your binder is AMAZING!!! OMG I could never do that. That is so detailed.

Are you doing one for your NYC trip?

Thanks! You could definitely do one too -- it's just a lot of printing and putting in the binder. :)

I will be doing one for the New York trip :goodvibes .

Do you have any recommendations for good NYC guidebooks? I am thinking of ordering a couple from amazon when I order my mom's b-day gift.

Ohhh NYC guidebooks? No clue. I wonder if Scott knows any.

Left you Cloudland info on my thread. You better start saving up the bucks with all the places you are wanting to try out:rotfl2: !!

Again, your binder is so cute and creative!

I have been having fun looking at the Cloudland stuff -- it's so close and affordable, we could easily go there for a weekend. So, I think I am beginning to narrow things down: I want to do a weekend at Cloudland, the anniversary trip to WDW, spring break in NYC, Pop in the summer (maybe), and a cruise next fall (2009). The one thing I read this weekend that bothered me is that if I cancel the cruise I lose the deposit. :scared1: I have to be ultra-sure about that one before I book it.

Now I just have to find the money for all of that!!!
