The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Love your pins! I've considered starting my own collection, but haven't been that interested yet. I've bought some pins for myself, but then I just put them on the boys' lanyards. Maybe someday.

Nice pins! Love the Tink one! My kids were big into trading this trip. I got a lot of pins on pincastle and divvied them up in the Christmas stockings this year. Didn't matter what they were really since they would be traded and they were definately a lot cheaper that way. They do have ones now that they won't trade at all, you know the really special ones! It is such a fun activity!

Allyson :)

Don't start browsing the pin racks, then, because that is how I got sucked in! There are too many cute ones to pass up. :)

I've been resistant thus far. Mostly because I can't see myself wearing a lanyard. But...
the pull...
is gettting...
TOO STRONG!!!

I can always pin them to my park bag...

Aw, MAN. I'm in trouble. I'm already thinking about Tink and Stitch pins. :sad2:

Hey YOU!!! Don't ask me why it took me this long to find your PTR--but now I am here, and I have LOTS of catching up to do!!! I've been reading over the first few pages, and didn't even REALIZE all that we have in common--now I DO!!! Disneyaholic--check Scrapbookaholic--check Movie junkie--check---the list DOES go on and on!!! Anyway--just wanted to say "hey!!" I have so much reading to do--but hey, that's what us English teachers love to do! ;o) Jen

:welcome: Thanks for coming!!!

We do have a lot in common -- including a trip to Disney in how many days??? Oh, mine would be in 42! :cheer2:

Let us know how you did on your March of Dimes walk later today. :goodvibes

Love your pins! I've considered starting my own collection, but haven't been that interested yet. I've bought some pins for myself, but then I just put them on the boys' lanyards. Maybe someday.

That's what I used to do -- even this last trip I picked up a couple that ended up being given to the kids.

Allyson :)

How was your spring break with the kids?

I don't know if we are ready for trading -- do you trade with the CMs or other people? Do you just put the ones you want to trade on your lanyards? I am such a newbie about pin trading.

They are just sooo cute -- it's hard not to get pulled in -- pinning to the park bag is a pretty good idea. Hmmm...

I am still shirking the household chores, so I am going to update -- that will take a lot of time. If I play my cards right, I will just plain run out of time to clean.

I realized this morning that since we made ADR changes and did Typhoon Lagoon, I have not updated our original itinerary. That will be part one of today's update.

Here is the official (with the possibility of changes) itinerary:

June 8: Arrive and check in to POFQ. Head to Disney Hollywood Studios for the tail-end of Star Wars Weekend, Backlot Express for dinner, and Fantasmic (with a few rides thrown in).

June 9: EPCOT (Future World and half of World Showcase including doing the Epcot passports). Breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, lunch at Cantina de San Angel, and dinner is at Chef Mickey's. After dinner, we will then head back to Epcot for a few more rides and Illuminations at 9:00.

June 10: ANIMAL KINGDOM Day! Breakfast at Tusker House, lunch wherever (maybe Pizzafari or Flame Tree), and dinner at Yak and Yeti. The kids would like to get their faces painted at Animal Kingdom so that might be today.

June 11: MAGIC KINGDOM Day! Breakfast at Main Street Bakery, lunch at Columbia Harbor House, dinner at the Crystal Palace. We want to watch Spectro at 9:00 and see the fireworks at 10:00. I would like to have the children's silhouettes done while we are here. Oh, and I need to get a Dole Whip.

June 12: Whatever day but more than likely Animal Kingdom Day! Breakfast and dinner at Boma -- lunch wherever. Anything we want to do at AK, we can do. My big thing is that I want to make sure to browse the AKL gift shop and eat as many zebra domes as I can.

June 13: EPCOT Day 2! Anything we want to repeat we can at Epcot today and see a few things that we may have missed. We would also like to do find candy from each of the countries. No set plans for any meals except Teppan Edo.

June 14: One last park and we have to leave. :sad1:

You may notice an alarming absence of rigid plans except for ADRs, parks, and evening entertainment. Well, I have decided that I want to just go slow and enjoy each park this year. No rushing around with a checklist of rides. We know which ones we like, we know which ones we want to do again, and we know how to FastPass and maximize our time. So, I am not going to be a Theme Park Nazi this year -- if we get to it all, we get to it all. If we don't, not the end of the world. I have decided that a relaxing pace is going to be the order of the day.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Sounds good, right? We'll see how long that lasts!!!

I think the trip binder is just about finished -- partly because it is just about full and I don't know if anything else will fit.

Am I missing anything?

Sounds good. June 8 is our last day with passes and we are planning to be at Star Wars Weekend that day and then onto MK for a late night. It's our last so we are making it count.
Hope we will see you guys somewhere!!

Oh my goodness! Your trip notebook puts mine to shame! I need to get busy! It looks excellent!!

How did you do the graphic itenirary? It is so cool!

How late are you planning on being at DHS? Maybe we can meet up and ride something together before you head for MK? Also, depending on what you guys decide to do for those extra couple of days, we could plan a get-together.

Thanks, I think my OCD/teacher tendencies got the better of me when I did the binder :).

I found the idea for the graphic itinerary somewhere on the DIS (I don't remember where). I used Word, created a table, and downloaded loads of clipart from the Internet. It was lots of fun to do!

Well I am definitely liking your itinerary. And I'm intrigued by Cantina de San Angel. So many bad reviews, but such a pretty setting. What are your thoughts, hon? Obviously I know you must like it if you're eating there, but can you help me out? :goodvibes

Edit: I just realized I was confused here. Are you doing CS in Mexico or San Angel Inn? Maybe I read it wrong! Sorry (it's been a looooooooooooooooooong weekend).

I love your relaxation concept. I think you can do it. Repeat after me "Relaxation = Good, Relaxation = Good" Take a deep breath. Repeat as necessary so as not to transform into Theme Park Commando. ;)

And, about the trip binder.

WOW!

I totally want to make one! :yay:

I don't even know where to start. But I think I may have to copy yours!:)

What a great idea to put postcard addresses in the binder! I need to do that! I always forget about postcards.

I hope that I can be a little more relaxed than usual on my next trip also. Just try to get in the favorites and then whatever else we come across. I'm not sure I'll be able to chill out enough for that though.

Looks great! I want to have open plans too. We have ADRs every night for dinner, but I am open to dropping any but the HBD/Fantasmic and the California Grill/Wishes. Our crew wants to take things slowly too and just figure it out as we go.

I am SO going to be a copycat on your binder. I LOVE it! I really need to get mine started. I have bought some stuff, but haven't started working on it. I want to get some of those colorful pocket folders like you have. Where did you find them?

My binder might just look just like yours!!

Hey Jackie!!!

I stayed up for a little last night and got caught up!!! I love this PTR/TR and I am so happy I finally found it!! LOVE the binder!!! I also love all the pics of the crafty things you have made from the journals to the tags!!! What great inspirations for others!!!

My March of Dimes walk was great today--thanks for asking!! I posted a big update on my PTR about how wonderful it was!

I hope you all are having a great weekend!! Talk again soon! Jen

Your binder looks awesome!:thumbsup2

Your binder is amazing! :worship:

Thank you! :goodvibes

The counter service is where we plan to eat -- it's one of those family traditions -- we've been eating there since I was a kid -- the food may be horrible and I just don't notice because I am all nostalgic at the time.

I am going to try really hard to relax on this trip.

Copy away!

I always forget to do postcards, and then my mother makes me feel guilty about it. :scared:

That's us this year -- we've been enough and will probably go enough so that we shouldn't feel like we have to cram it all in. It will be my "do do do" that gets in the way.

I am SO going to be a copycat on your binder. I LOVE it! I really need to get mine started. I have bought some stuff, but haven't started working on it. I want to get some of those colorful pocket folders like you have. Where did you find them?

I found the pocket dividers at Walmart -- I love them, because I am always putting stuff in them.

You'll need to post pictures of your binder once you get it together. :thumbsup2

I read your update on your walk -- what a wonderful, life-affirming day for you and your family! :goodvibes

Hi! I just caught up! Let's see if I can remember everything I wanted to say. I was in the Science Olympiad as well and I won a medal in Write It-Do It as well. DF makes fun of me because he had never heard of it before, I am going to have to show him your post!
I have binder envy, I thought I was all organized with my notebook but I think I am going to have to make me a Trip Binder.
Anyways, loving your report!

Am I missing anything?

Have I died and gone to heaven?

I must've looked closely at these for 10-15 minutes....I'm in awe...I love your cover page.

I like your theme of relaxing and not overscheduling....I think Wendy and I are slowly moving in that direction....SLOWLY.

What a great idea to put postcard addresses in the binder! I need to do that! I always forget about postcards. .

You can make it even easier by writing or printing the addresses on labels and taking those with you. Just peel and stick and your post card is half done!

Charleston Princess you have the best binder...I was just happy to get my organized last night...but yours...I love that you put little pictures on you spreadsheets and info pages...very nice. I have Binder envy!!!

And you wrote Park-Nazi like its a bad thing :rolleyes1 At least I have scheduled in bathroom breaks (well at least not yet)
