loving your tr so far..can't wait to read more.
Welcome and thank you!
Oy! Y&Y sounds like a mess. Paper slips?? Seriously?! Yikes. I know that the restaurant is not owned by Disney. I ran into that when making my ADR's -- apparently Y&Y won't honor the 180 plus 10 that Disney restaurants do. But still... even Olive Garden (no disrespect to OG fans out there) has the electronic pagers.
So I have an ADR there in Oct. From what I've gathered from a few trippies my best bets are an alcoholic beverage(s) and the mango pie.
Sigh. It's tough but I imagine I'll be able to get through it.
Sorry the face painting wasn't so long for this world -- it was really cute.
All in all looks like you made the best of it and kept your senses of humor.
Too cute on Connor's creative idea of holding the camera upside down! That's one smart kid! And I love Chelsea's animal print dress!
Yes, have a couple of drinks and the mango pie, and you will be all set!

Hopefully, they will realize soon that they need a different check-in procedure.
When we are at WDW, we try not to let anything get us down for too long.
Connor is a very creative kid -- he is always coming up with ideas! Chelsea's dress is the one she bought earlier in the day at the Africa gift shop.
Great update! I have read so many good food reviews of yak & yeti but it seems that there service is quite up there yet. I am glad we are saving it for a future trip and not the September trip.
I love the bat pictures, your kids have such great imaginations. I would love to come over and be entertained by them.
Maybe by the time you eat there on a future trip, they will have worked out all the kinks!
You can come over and be entertained by them anytime!
I have heard that about Y&Y across the boards. I guess they are too new or something and need to work on their system. At least the food was good!
I too tend to either cry or scream, not much in between!
Great update!
Thanks! I would have been very put out if the food had been mediocre on top of everything else!
What a bad situation at Y and Y. I am just like you...I tend to cry when I am mad about something or in a confrontational situation (which is why I avoid them at ALL costs!), no matter where I am. So embarrassing!
I love all the bat pics!
Chelsea's dress is so cute! Perfect for AK!
I hate when I get to the point where I am trying to hold back tears

.
We had fun being bats!
That was the dress that Chelsea bought earlier in the day, and she just had to wear it. It looked really good with her leopard mask before it melted.
we are eating there next time hope we don't have the same experience.
glad you liked the food and willing to give it another try.
I don't think they had any idea on how to handle the sudden influx of people that the rain brought in.
I definitely want to go back if only because there were about six other drinks on their menu that I want to try!
I love Chelsea dress!
Sorry about the snafu and having to have a diva tantrum. I know I would have had one too.
Thank you! When she picked it out, she knew it would go great with her face paint. I wish I had a chance to get a picture of her in it with her leopard mask -- she was adorable.
I just wish I had thought to double check before we had waited an eternity.
Oh boy! A bit of a snafu. I'm telling you, that is the Bermuda Triangle of theme parks. No wonder there were ominous storm clouds, it fits the theme.
Seriously, I'm glad your meal was salvagable. And don't worry at all about "losing it." When I'm hungry, if things aren't going efficiently, I tend to see red. And that sounds like such a poor method of handling guests. I have heard good things about the food at Yak & Yeti, but never good reviews on the service. Hopefully they can straighten that out, you know?
Too bad about the face paint...leave it to you to bring in an Indy reference!
Of course, I had to bring in an Indy reference!
It was so glaringly obvious to me that it wasn't a Disney-owned restaurant with the seating and service problems.
I think part of the tantrum stemmed from the chaotic nature of the waiting room -- it was so noisy and crowded -- and the fact that I was standing there wet for the second time that day.
Two TR's in one day for me! (I'm behind after the holiday weekend!)
Jackie, I get the SAME WAY when I have to be confrontational. Not to mention I go all into the 'ugly cry'. But I'm glad to hear Y&Y had some redeeming qualities!
And the face painting was beautiful! Even if it only lasted a short while the pictures are fantastic!
Thanks! I was glad we did the face paint even if the rain destroyed it before the end of the day -- next time we will make sure we check the weather forecast.
