Woo hoo!
We have a booking decision. Kind of. Sort of. Subject to change at any time.
Seriously, CP, I could tell you all the reasons I think CBR would be an awesome stay, but you'll find your right choice for your family.
You know this reveal almost makes up for Jiri's cliffhanger.
I said almost.
I know, I had no Jack to help assuage the agony of Jiri's cliffhanger

.
We can consider it the first of many resort changes.
Oh no! A Jiri cliffhanger! Bah! CP this is all your fault, you started it.
I am sorry that you are losing some of your students.
For some reason, I have feeling that CP will be renting points...just my gut telling me so.

After reading about the renting of points, I have to admit I am a bit intrigued. Maybe checking out DVC for yourself will help you decide if you want to buy in or not. Or maybe in my case it will convince my DH.
I know, I know. I should have foreseen the mutiny I would cause.
I am doing a little better with it today -- it was the culmination of Connor finding out he wasn't in a class with his bff, Chelsea finding out that her bffs were on different teams, and then I found out I was losing half of my 8th graders -- it was too much change all at once, and the only change I like are resort changes.
Renting points is very, very alluring...
Wellll.....just as long as we're
clear on everything!
Sadly, it probably won't be clear until we are past the 45-day mark and it costs me to change (which I won't pay so I don't change).
Even though I grew up in Florida, I guess I forget and am always surprised when I hear people going back to school so early in August... My kids never start until after Labor Day and this year because of construction at her school - DD4 doesn't start until Sept 15th
Wow! We will be halfway through our first nine weeks by September 15!
Jackie---So sorry to hear about your students going to a different teacher this year--no fun indeed!!! I am sure they will still stop and say "hi!" It sounds like you have a great connection already---I'm sure it will endure even through switching teachers!! Why do the schools do that at times though???? It is so frustrating!!!
The connection will endure, but it's disappointing because the 8th grade curriculum is my favorite one, and I have spent two years making sure that my darlings have everything they need so we can truly enjoy the material. This group is so phenomenal -- for two years I have kept raising the bar for them and they exceed at everything -- I have tried so many new things with them, and I just knew this year would be the best one ever with them. Sadly, now I only get half of them. But we will manage -- I am sure everything will work out one way or another.
Glad to hear that you are already booked, but I know you---I KNOW this is only one of the MANY things that will change between now and then! Let me know how I can help you out if renting is the direction you decide to go in---you KNOW I would be happy to help you out!!!
You do know me too well!
Here's a question I had -- when did you start looking for an owner to rent points from?
I'll be thinking of you the rest of the week as school gets back into gear for you!!!
Think of me tomorrow at 8:00 when students arrive (although technically I won't get any until 9:40 because they are on extended homeroom) -- then it will truly be showtime!
I know where ever you stay you will have a wonderful time planning, and dreaming. Renting points sounds great, but with all the new things at CBR it sounds like fun also.
CBR does sound so neat -- that's one of the reasons the decision is so difficult.
Sorry about losing part of your students, hopefully the new teacher will continue in the same great pattern. If you were losing students, why not take away the 6th grade class, you do know each other yet?
That's what a lot of parents asked -- each grade level's times are slightly off from the other ones because they go to connections (art, PE, etc.) for a lesser time than their academic classes. So, the way my schedule has to be only allows me to teach one 8th grade class. I hope the new teacher takes good care of them.
Best wishes tomorrow with your new 6th graders and with a little luck maybe they will know how to open lockers and get to class on time within a week.
Just think with half the students how much more time you can spend with each student.

Isn't that the truth about 6th graders and lockers!? Chelsea Beth will be one of them trying to figure it all out!
Have a great last pre-planning day, and last student free lunch.
Thanks! It was very productive!
I don't think it's that great of a cliffhanger! Sheesh.
PrincessV, though, now
she had a cliffhanger!

In TK's and LL's eyes, it was a cliffhanger of enormous proportions!
Oh well CARP. That's just no fun.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Maybe that WAS it.
Or maybe it was the way they put her hair in and her head on. Because my brother used to steal my Barbies and squeeze their heads and all the air would come out their necks and through their hair. And sometimes, when he did it
just right their heads would stay all imploded like that.
JERK.
I'm not bitter.
I'm just sayin'.
And I think you're WAY better than a Barbie with an imploded head and hair plugs.
I am so thankful my brother was 12 years younger than me! I had no idea that Sid was your brother!
Wow Jackie, I leave for a few days and come back to all these new decisions!!

the whole renting points thing sounds VERY interesting to me too, I think I might have to find out from Jenn how that whole thing works!
Can't wait to hear all about your plans, so lucky you already know you are going back again!
Yes, find out from Jen how it all works and start planning to go back in June of 2009!
