The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

First, Chelsea says thank you for all the birthday wishes! She thought that was very cool! She had a great birthday -- we spent it with all the extended family, and she is going to have a slumber party soon!

First, happy 11th birthday Chelsea. July birthdays are the best :thumbsup2 But maybe I'm partial.

Chelsea loves posing for pictures!!! That pic with Bo is hilarious.
Jackie, I don't think you should be concerned about Bo. He has more personality that a lot of the men I've dated.

I'm happy to see I'm not the only person who stays away from ToT.

Poor Connor looks like he's melting. How hot was it???

What's the purpose of the HSM show?? Being that I have nephews and teach kindergarten, I have no clue what the hoopla is all about.

:lmao: about Bo having more personality than some you've dated!

ToT scares me, too!

It was June hot -- not as bad as it could have been.

The HSM show is just a lot of singing and dancing in front of the sorcerer's hat -- I think they do it once every hour because I swear everytime we walked by the hat they were doing it!

Happy Birthday Chelsea!

No ToT for you huh? Gosh I do love that ride!

Too funny about Charles and the superstitious number 13! You are still learning things after all these years!

Allyson

One day I hope to get up the nerve to ride it again!

I was so stunned about the number 13! I really had no idea!

Well Happy Birthday Chelsea!!

I am a wimp and don't ride ToT either.

I really want to find the courage to do it again though because I love the theming of that ride so much!

Happy Birthday to Chelsea!

The Bo story and pic are hilarious! And the keychain story too...the pool keys have a new keychain! :lmao:

Yep, luckily I really liked that key chain so I figured it would be perfect for our pool keys!

nooo you can't just leave us hanging like this... Your family pictures are like ours, we barely got a one that we all look good in.

That is funny about the key chain.

Too bad about ToT, I was soo scared to ride it but forced myself and even though it scared the bejesus out of me, I loved it! maybe next time give it another try?:)

Happy Bday to Chelsea!!

It's a rare occurrence for one of the four of us not to be making some goofy face!

Connor and I have a "next-time-we'll-ride-it" list going -- Tower of Terror is definitely on it.

Unfortunately none was filmed here in Cincinnati. I want to take Hannah, but it might not happen until it comes on DVD. (not to end to sitting that long right now).
I am so jealous of all her dolls... they are so beautiful and I love the stories with the dolls!

Onto your report...once again Chelsea cracks me up in the pictures.... she is too pretty!

Thank you! Chelsea is truly never shy when it comes to posing for a camera!

Just think, between Hannah and Em, you'll have twice as many reasons to get American Girls through the years! :thumbsup2

I am still really enjoying your updates! I can't believe Connor is THAT strong willed that he wouldn't even do the ride! I would have been so livid at my child by that point! But of course, it sounds like it just wasn't his day with the spilling of the lemonade and all.

I can't wait for the next update!

Happy Birthday Chelsea!!

Thank you! I wasn't mad at Connor because truly, he only hurt himself with his stubborness!

Happy Birthday to your "model" girl:wizard:
Cool pics!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Happy Birthday Chelsea.

great update and pics. I love TOT.

Thank you! I so want to get up the nerve to ride it next time -- maybe liquid courage would help!

Happy 11th Birthday Chelsea!

Thank you! I can't believe she is already 11 and starting middle school in three weeks!

Great update, yet again!

Don't be worried about Chelsea and Bob. Much better than my Katie and her boyfriend. He's a good boy, but he's worrisome to a certain agree. On second thought, at least she won't get splinters from her boyfriend! :lmao:

I think Connor looks cute in that pic.

ToT steals your breath. That's a good way to put it.

Poor Charles and his 13 superstition. I'm sorry about the gift. Glad you found a use for the keychain though.

I somehow think Bo would have liked Chelsea's pose :)

Happy birthday to Chelsea tomorrow! 11 is a fun age. They are all fun ages, except 7 and 12, in my opinion. Ask me later and I'll tell you why.

Glad you enjoyed the update! I am still laughing about the splinter comment! I hear good things about 11 -- maybe this will be an easy year. ;)

Happy Birthday to Chelsea!

Cute keychain story, really? 13? Funny.....

:goodvibes

Thank you! I love the Disneyland video -- great link!

Tell Chelsea I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! She is such a pretty girl--love the poses!

Also--Congrats to you and Charles on being together for 15 years!!! Tom and I celebrated our 15 year mark (of being together) back in February--he actually did something very sweet--he took me back to the restaurant where we had our first date and specifically reserved the table we sat at---he even took in a tablecloth, bouquet of flowers, and candles that were put on the table for our arrival! I didn't know he had it in him! Next year, we will mark being together for HALF of our LIVES!!! Unbelievable!! But he is a keeper, so I won't complain!!!! ;o)

Thank you! What a wonderful story about going back to your first date restaurant! That was sooo sweet!

Hehee! Love the story of Chelsea and her main man, Bo.

That's totally a story you could pull out at her 21st birthday party, or her wedding. "Well, Chelsea has always been interested in boys... Here's a photo of her first main man, Bo."

:yay:

 What a great idea to pull out her picture with Bo at her 21st b-day!What a hoot that would be!

Chelsea was wearing her TAB shirt so maybe she felt it was fate!

 She wears TAB -- he sells Coke -- it's meant to be!

What a beautiful picture!!!

Happy birthday Chelsea!

Thank you! :goodvibes

I hope Chelsea is having a wonderful 11th birthday!!!!

Here's a pic I thought you'd enjoy:

mcfeely.jpg

His hat says Speedy Delivery :lmao:

 I can totally hear him saying, "Speedy Delivery" in my head! She did have a good birthday -- she loves being the center of attention!

I will admit, I was a little worried for a minute but then I saw the picture. Does Chelsea give a reason for being drawn to him? Does she have a thing for pinocchio as well? Maybe we can have Bo attend her future Disney wedding, of course the wedding will be to a much less wooden man. ;)

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: That is too funny!!

What an adorable picture! Is this your favorite of her or is it still coming up?

:lmao:

She was just being totally silly about Bo -- I think the heat was getting to her!

I love that picture of her -- but my favorite one (and it's a silly one like Connor's) comes up in the next update. It's a Photopass so the scanned quality won't be as good!

The story of Chelsea and her "main man" is way too funny!

My husband is also superstitious of the number 13. We got married last October and one of the dates we were considering was October 13. He ultimately said no to that date because "at some point our anniversary would be on Friday the 13th".

If the 13th had been a possible wedding date for us, I would have found out about Charles's aversion before now -- I am still surprised that it has never come up before!

Happy birthday, Chelsea!

Jackie, you had me cracking up (well, swallowing my snorts and giggles since I'm at work and am therefore ostensibly working) through this entire installment! First, with the HSM "young adults pretending to be high schoolers" stuff, then with your concern over Chelsea and Bo, and again with Charles' newly revealed fear of the number 13! Wonderful installment! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: :lmao:

Thank you for the birthday wishes for Chelsea! I am so glad you enjoyed the last update -- I was kind of proud of my HSM young adults pretending to be teenagers comment. ;)

Happy Birthday Chelsea!!!

Happy Birthday to Chelsea!

Happy Birthday Chelsea! Hope you are having a ton of fun

Happy Birthday, Chelsea!!

Em says being eleven is awesome!!

Chelsea says, "Thank you!" She had a great birthday! I am particularly enjoying the leftover birthday cake! :rotfl:

Welcome! Thanks for reading!

Happy Birthday to Miss Chelsea!!!!!!!! :cool1:  :yay: :cheer2: :flower3: :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Bo is a fine lookin' fella... you may have some issues ahead of you ;)

ToT "steals your breath"... what a great description, Connor! I'll confess... I'm too chicken to go on it at all!

Thank you! At least, we only see Bo once a year!

I want to ride ToT, but I am always thankful when Connor backs out -- I am such a chicken!

Alright, I read your update this morning, but had to jet to work, so didn't have time to comment until now.

And you know the one thing that stuck with me all day? Aside from that little tidbit about 13 with your DH that I found to be hilarious?

Bo.

Yup, Bo.

All I could think about was Chelsea and her man. Forget the Jonas Bros, Chelsea has Bo! :lmao:

CP, your kids are adorable, and I love reading about them.:goodvibes

And I hope Chelsea had a great birthday.

Thank you! I love sharing Chelsea and Connor stories! Chelsea and Bo :sad2: -- there is no telling where that could lead!

arielmk.jpg

Thanks for the update... a part of me is always relieved when one of my DD's chickens out and won't ride ToT making me stay with them...

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

I am always relieved, too!

:flower3: Happy Birthday Chelsea!!!:flower3:
Santa brings my girls AG dolls too. Between the 2 they have Felicity, Elizabeth, Jess, Kaya, and Julie. They want another for this Christmas. Kit was wonderful.

ToT is a lonesome ride for me as I always do it by myself!! But I LOVE that feeling, as long as I know it will stop.

LOVE the update!

Lori

Thank you for Chelsea's birthday wishes! I will be so sad when she outgrows American Girls!

One day, one day I will ride ToT again!

Did I already ask if your DH had onions?:rolleyes1

:lmao: He won't eat onions -- kind of like his mushroom aversion only he can pick them out of food.

Aren't "do nothing" days great?

It seems you were able to re-charge a bit.

A WDW is not a trip w/o changes, especially ADRs.

I guess I'll read about Kona shortly..on to the next chapter.

Yes, but I can never have an entire "do nothing" day because I start getting antsy -- so a half do-nothing day works better for me!

These are great pictures.

I'm glad Kona was good.

Thanks!

Sounds like Conner was having no mojo...and least you didn't have to take him back to the room ala The Great FlameTree Standoff of 2008.

No mojo for Connor in the beginning. :rotfl: I had forgotten about the Great Flame Tree Standoff!!! Thank goodness it wasn't that bad!

Okay...caught up....

Just in time for another update later today!

A middle schooler! ACK! I about died when Kyle started middle school... now I look at him and he's TALLER than me. Sob.

I'm on the fence about Tower of Terror... on one hand I want to see the interior and experience it all, but on the other hand I am NOT looking forward to that drop! (Or DROPS!)

Happy Birthday to Chelsa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chelsea says, "thank you!" She had a great birthday yesterday!

I have no doubt that Chelsea will end up taller than me, eventually, since I am only 5'2".

I would definitely say you should try it at least once -- of course, it's very easy for me to be brave about other people riding. :rotfl:

Daisy absolutely LOVED starting middle school last year. Joey has opted to stay with homeschooling for this next year, so I will still only have one in middle school.

Chelsea is very excited about middle school. I think I would be more of a basket case if she weren't coming to my school -- it helps that I know all of her teachers and that I will be able to keep an eye on her (from a distance, of course)! If she were going to a different middle school, I would probably need a prescription for xanax! ;)

Funny that your DH won't touch onions...Wendy has the same distaste for onions....unfortunately I love them.

He won't eat onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, pickles, or olives. However, he does not mind the "taste" of onions or tomatoes and will eat pickle relish. He's so weird!

Unfortunately, I love onions, too, with dire results. I had onions on a burger on Tuesday while we were out shopping and was miserable the rest of the day. You would think I would learn. I have no willpower!

I wouldn't want Daisy at the middle school I work at, it's scary. Her middle school is wonderful though, I love it.

ToT scares me, too!

It's so true! :rotfl2:

I'm afraid of August hot :scared1:

Thank goodness T isn't into HSM. I cannot deal with the rah rah rahs and all of that. I admire you for teaching middle school. I don't know how you do it. My friend and I went to an arcade after lunch so her 3.5 year old daughter could play some games. The place was filled with preteens making out with each other. I couldn't handle a school filled with that :scared:

 I can totally hear him saying, "Speedy Delivery" in my head! She did have a good birthday -- she loves being the center of attention!

:lmao:

I'm glad Chelsea had a good birthday. And a slumber party sounds like fun. I'm sure Connor will be thrilled to have a bunch of squealing girls in his house. But in a few years, it'll be a different story.

You just listed 5 of my favorites condiment type foods.....

I obviously have no willpowever...if you recall The Red Onion Debacle that had me in the restroom all night...:rolleyes1

Luckily, my middle school is pretty good -- I am very fortunate to be working there!

Oh, trust me, they save the making out for the arcade and the roller skating rink and the movie theater! I couldn't handle that in my workplace! :scared:

Connor will probably escape to a friend's house that night -- he would die if he had to put up with a bunch of squealy girls all night long.

I would escape to a friend's house if I could.

At least they don't do it at school!!! I work in a K-12 school and always run into kids who are glued at the face when I take my class to P.E. or music. They think they're hiding when they sneak off to the stairways.

When Connor's a little older, he won't want to escape :lmao:

:rotfl2: You may need earplugs!

There aren't any good places for them to hide at my school. :rotfl:

Connor will definitely enjoy having a house full of girls when he is older!
