Day 14 Chelsea's surprise!!
I am awake at 7.AM this morning. I am very excited for the day ahead and hopefully all will be well. I wake Chelsea around 8AM for breakfast and remind her that she is going to dress up as Sleeping Beauty so that we can get some pictures of her before we go home.
She happily obliges and whilst she is getting ready i do the same myself. At some point she asks where we are going and i casually say Universal Studios. She looks a bit worried and makes me promise that she doesn't have to ride Jurassic Park again,lol.
Once she is ready we take some pictures of her and she is desperate to get changed. I use the excuse that she should let Rebecca see her first. Big thanks to Rebecca for sleeping in this morning!
At 9.AM precisely the doorbell rings and I spring into action. I tell Chelsea to get the door for me and she grumpily (as they do at that age) marches to the door and opens it. In front of her stands her chauffeur and he introduces himself to her and asks her to follow him outside. She steps out and spots the nice shiny limo and a smile as wide as a rainbow crosses her face.
The driver tells her he will pull up onto the kerbside for her. She is persistently asking me at this point if I have ordered the limo. I tell her yes but she has no idea where we are going.
Once we are on the way the same rainbow smile spreads across her face and she keeps repeating I am in a Limo I ask if she has any idea where we are going and she says no. After a while we arrive at our destination. The Grand Floridian. Are we going to stay here she asks. I wish!!!lol.
We enter the lobby and make our way to the Garden View Lounge and the secret is out. She reads the podium which is about the Perfectly Princess tea party. Up until now Sleeping Beauty is the princess she has not seen and makes today all the more special. Again the wide eyed rainbow face smile. I am chuckling to myself as she is very happy indeed.We give our names at the podium and Chelsea is presented with a card that says Princess Chelsea
We wait a while and soon after out comes Rose Petal. The children are announced in by name, crowned and showered with rose petals.
They are for this morning referred to as Princess while the mums receive the title of Queen,lol. We are seated at our table and awaiting Chelsea is a My Disney girl doll dressed up like Aurora. This was a fabulous experience. The Baron played the music whilst Rose Petal told the story of Sleeping Beauty.
We were brought our tea and Chelsea had Apple tea. The platter of sandwiches arrived and this was very nice. After we were brought a large slice of cake which was delicious.
Soon the announcement came that Aurora was on her way. A very personal meet and greet followed with each of the characters coming and sitting at the table for some tea and a chat. Chelsea just loved this and it was one of the best things about her holiday. The girls are then all up for a dance and Aurora and rose Petal join in. She is also given a charm bracelet and Aurora came round again and gave all the girls a fresh rose along with a thank you note. We were then sent upstairs and given a scrapbook. It was very special indeed.
I asked Chelsea what she wanted to do now and the choice was Magic Kingdom. After getting changed we caught the monorail to magic Kingdom.
Cinderellabration was just starting and she wanted to stay and watch. We went up to Frontierland and of course to Fantasyland. At this point she decided she wanted to go back and see her sister. We went and done some shopping before heading out to get a taxi back to the villa.
The girls of course wanted into the pool as soon as we arrived back. Colin got in with them and I got the laptop out for a surf. On checking my email flights from Globespan had just been released. Well I had to have a look!! Didnt I?? The prices were fab and I exclaimed very loudly to Colin that the flights were a steal! How could he possibly say no whilst in a lovely pool in the Florida sunshine. Within 10 seconds the emergency cc was obtained and flights booked for 10th June to 3rd July 2008. Chelsea was jumping around the pool with excitement and going home didnt seem as depressing anymore. I emailed the villa owner and she called me back 5 mins later in disbelief. So flights and accommodation sorted and we hadnt left yet!
