Can anyone tell me anything about this? Is it worth the money? Also.. what did the Mom wear? Do you have to dress really nice?????? Is a 3 year old too young for this? She will be 4 in January.

Thanks..

I have been debating this event for our last 3 trips. Well, I booked it this week for our Dec trip. I will be giving it to dd's (5 & 8) as an early Christmas present. There have been several reports on the Dis and everyone seems to have enjoyed it. We actually saw part of the tea party while we were in the lobby of the GF. Ms. Rose Petal was singing and my dd's were really impressed. I figure my daughters are only young once, and I'm a wanna be princess, too!

We (my 4 1/2 yr old and 9 yr old daughters) did this on our Thanksgiving trip last year.

I thought I would be bored, but I really enjoyed it. Rose Petal and the Baron put on quite an entertaining show. :flower:

As far as age goes.....I really had to twist my 9 yr old's arm when I was planning this - she did not want to go, thought it would be babyish. She and I wound up loving it! My 4 yr old that REALLY wanted to go when I told her about it originally, got a bit squirrely and could have left half way thru. She did like it, but it was a bit long for her to sit.

Aurora shows up toward the end and visits with each table, signs autographs and poses for pics, and leads the girls in a dance. Mostly it is stories and songs performed by a very talented Rose Petal.

The girls got some cute parting gifts and it was a very special event.

Only you know your daughter and how long she would be able to sit and behave like a princess. princess: There were girls of all ages at the party we attended, but my 4 yr old is just a spunky monkey and would rather be up playing and moving around than sitting and listening to stories, etc for an hour and a half (or 2).

Happy planning -

OK.....so...........it's a "PRINCESS TEA PARTY" but Aurora only shows up at the end???? I don't get it, do any other Princesses show up? Also, isn't that tea party pretty expensive? :confused3

That's right. Aurora shows up toward the end. Rose Petal does some explaining about who she is etc. in a story at the beginning. I am drawing a blank as to what the relationship is ???

Anyway, it is expensive. I think it was about $300 for the three of us. It was a splurge - but it was actually worth it. I left feeling like I spent a really nice couple of hours. It was very entertaining. I just think the way it is presented is over the top of most YOUNG kids' heads. I don't know many that would be entertained for that long of a time by a pretty lady they don't know as a princess telling tales and a man playing the keyboard. It all depends on the girl, I guess. I actually think the performance is more for the parents!

The gifts the girls get include a doll, bracelet, and scrap book pages and some other odds and ends. I thought it was weird because my 9 yr old was too old for the doll, too young for the scrap book pages, the bracelet didn't thrill her.....My 4 yr old liked the doll and that's about it.

I liked it, but it was a once in a long time event! ;)

I just wanted to add that over our last trip this August, my girls did the Alice in Wonderland Tea party at the GF. It was only $30 each and they LOVED it and both want to do it again!

They went with 2 friends and all 4 girls had a blast. It may be something else to consider and much more reasonable and age appropriate. The girls go to the party without parents, though. Parents are given a pager and set free for 1 1/2 hours!

Alice and Mary Poppins hosted the party they attended.

Happy planning!

My family attended the My Disney Girl Princess Grand Tea Party during its pilot stages. I wrote about it in an old trip report: click here (just look for the post on that page entitled, "Grand Floridian Day Two, Part 1"). In my post, you will find a link to my photos of the event. By the way, when I was vacationing at the Grand Floridian this summer, I looked in on the current tea party. It was basically identical to the one that my family had attended.

As to the Grand Floridian's children's events, my daughter has been attending them for quite a few years now. I used her own words in that same trip report to describe the Wonderland Tea Party, the Grand Adventures in Cooking Class, and the Pirates Cruise. If you look at Page 4 (click here) and Page 5 (click here), you will see write ups about each of those events. You'll also find links to photos.

I hope this helped.
