Who likes this movie? I happen to love Babs, so I do love the movie. Anyone else?

Loves Babs vocals, in fact got to see her "last concert" at Madison Square Garden, which turned out not to be her "last concert" go figure always been a huge fan of her music

Loved the Prince of Tides, well madefilm, beautifully made, great casting, visually appealing--of course the original book is very good

However, I do not like her politcial views in the least, and I find her preaching unbearable

:thumbsup2 GREAT MOVIE made from a GREAT BOOK:thumbsup2 One of the few movies that didnt change the facts in the book around.

The movie has some great Cinematography! And the theme music is haunting!

I saw her last year in concert as well. She was GREAT and she still has "it!"

Actually she was pretty funny about her political views at the concert and got a standing ovation.

I just love:love: her. My husband, on the other hand, can't stomach her. Oh well, to each his own.

I loved the way he was holding her while she was all snuggled up in his lap.
And I love the last line of the movie.

While waiting for my husband and son to get home from a ballgame, I then watched The Way We Were. I love, love that movie as well.

My all time favorite is Funny Girl.:hippie: Also A Star is Born. I would love to have a collection of these, but can't seem to find them. Anyone know where you can get these?:confused3

I love Babs, but Nick Nolte is awesome in that movie. I also was impressed with
George Carlin as the sister's neighbor. He was fabulous. :thumbsup2

The book is much better than the movie. Of course the book isn't happy go lucky but well written.

I am not a Babs fan per se (except for What's Up Doc- that was hilarious) and I LOVE this movie. I watch it every time it's on. Beautifully acted, it's a disgrace she wasn't nominted for Best Director that year because the movie was nominated for Best Picture. I can't believe Nolte didn't win either...

The book was different from the movie ::yes::

My cousin used to be married to the author

I liked the book more than the movie. The book was intense though. All of Pat Conroy's books are. My favorite of his books is The Great Santini.

I remember when this movie was first released. I couldn't wait to see it as I LOVED the book. The movie was good, the book was great.
