The Premium Mickey Premium Bar Thread

On DCL, we went to the little ice cream stand on deck 9 or wherever and asked if there was any where to get the mickey ice cream bars. Their only suggestion was room service. So we called:

"Do you guys have those, you know, mickey ice cream bars?"

"Yes we do, how many would you like?"

"Um....seven?"

We actually only ordered two. But room service is included on DCL, so it only costs you a couple bucks to tip the room service guy:

Our first trip was in '99 when my son was 7. I was so excited for him to get his first Mickey bar. As he took the fitst bite, I took a picture. It was a grimace. He hated it. The chocolate was bitter and he was not expecting that. He refused to eat it and spit what he had out of his mouth. I was so disappointed. It was thinking this would be one fo the highlights of the vacation. I have a picture, but it is in storage right now.

My kids love the Mickey bars... even more than (OMG, they must not be mine!) Dole Whip!


My FIL would order Mickey bars from room service on the Magic, too. He must have eaten 20 in a week... He'd even opt for those over the desserts on the menu.

When I'm at the World, I am a Dole Whip girl but I will occasionally veer off the path for a frozen chocolate-covered banana! When we've visited Disneyland, I pretty much live off those because the rest of the food is pretty bad.

Are they worth it?
Let me put it this way. DD has not had one for 2.5 years, she's 5.5. We are going in 5 months and she already has money set aside for a Mickey Bar a day. We have searched high and low for something that comes close to a Mickey Bar. We finally found a Dove Bar that is very close, wrong shape though. And then the one store we found to carry them, stopped. First thing she wants to do when we hit WDW is get a bar.
Yes, they are worth it.

I have been to wdw twice and never had one now this trip and seeing this thread I have to have one or 2 or 3 to make up lost time. I love Dove Bars i really love chocolate chocolate ones do micky bars come in only vanilla. I hope not but i am sure i will love them the same. can nto wait dieing for one now

The Mickey Premium is a beautiful marriage of Dove chocolate and Haagen-Daaz ice cream... but yes, they only come in vanilla.

They used to have this really cool ice cream bar that was chocolate ice cream with a layer of caramel, then the whole mess was dipped in chocolate. They called it a "Goofy Pop" or something... anyone else remember this?

That bar was my husband's favorite! I think we first had it in 2001--and haven't seen one since. They were awesome! If anyone knows if they still exist--DH & I would be eternally grateful!
