Beleive it not, the title of this thread does make sense. Heres the story.
I have a friend who sees a problem in every situation. No matter what, she will find something to complain or worry about in literally everything she encounters. Becuase of this, she is never happy and is always upset about something.
Well, today was the limit. We went to Boston Market for lunch. She sat down at the table, looked at her food and announced "I cant beleive they did this!". I looked at her plate of perfectly good food, and then asked her what was wrong. She replied "They put my fruit salad between my corn and my mashed potatos".
Ok, now I was confused. I pointed out that her plate had dividers, so the food would not mix together, To which she replied "Thats not it, I like to mix my corn and my mashed potatos together, but I cant do that if there is fruit between them. You'd think they would know that nobody mixes fruit and mashed potatos together!".
Well, I knew I had to resolve this earth shaking crisis right away
, so I recomended she get a spoon and move the corn over to the potatos. She let out a sigh that could easily replace the fans in a wind tunnel, then grumbled her way over to the condement bar to get a plastic spoon.
My point here is not just to complain about my friend's humorous behavior, but rather to remind everyone to stop sweating the small stuff (and its nearly all small stuff). My friend sees the world as a place that constantly works to annoy her. Little does she know that she lives in world that constantly works to delight her, if she would only look for it.
We need to stop worrying about the postion of the corn and potatos and just enjoy the meal. (OK, so its a sappy fast food metaphore, but its true).
