The pool temp at VWL was over 92 degrees today.

Had the trusty pool thermometer along again. If anyone cares, main pool at WL was also slightly over 92 today. Not very refreshing. Guess keeping the pools at 82 to be safe doesn't apply in the summer.

Thanks for the update. Kind of shoots holes in the "recommended Red Cross" temps explanation though.

92 degrees, yikes. That's not a pool, it's people soup.

yikes! we'll be there in 8 days
did you check the villas pool temp?

People soup... don't like that image :stir:

Maybe if everyone brought a bucket of ice to the pool. :boat:

That surprises me. Last summer the lifeguard told me that they cool the water in the summer. I wonder if there was something wrong with the cooling system.

so, a somewhat pool related question, but slightly off topic. in the winter months, are the pools heated? and if so, are they heated enough where you can go swimming comfortably?

Did you mention how warm the water was to anyone at the desk?

The Villas pool was just over 90 at 10PM Wednesday night, didnt check during the day. When we get in (did the BWV pool also yesterday walking form EPCOT to MGM but did not bring the thermometetor but it felt hot also) it feels kind of good on your legs, but as soon as you go under a hot rush of water swirls over-kind of gross, then you start to get you used to it-kind of.

I didnt mention it but maybe I will and for sure will in a survey if I get one.

Really just wanted to squash the "unsafe bacteria over 84 degress" excuse they used for last winter. :cold:

Maybe I'm wrong but somewhere along the line I was told that too wam what could be exercise in....something having to do with heart rate and cooling.

We stayed at VWL last August and both the VWL pool and main pool were horribly hot. Not refreshing at all! We just returned from SSR and both the main pool and quiet pools were refreshing.

We too found the water at VWL to be really, really warm.

Out of curiousity, can anyone tell me how the temp is at BWV or OKW (next summer's destination!)?? Thanks!

Just got back from BWV yesterday--both the Luna Park pool and the quiet pool were very warm.
A little too easy to take a snooze while floating on those 'noodles' :rotfl:

If FL is anything like KS has been, we've been having 100+ temps lately. I suppose that it would be hard for ANYONE, even someone with deep pockets like Disney, to keep water cool. It might be tougher for them to keep it cool than to keep it warm.

I turned on the water today out of the hose at my school and it was so hot, it was steaming at first.

Well see that is what happens when you complain, Disney takes it to the extremes, I mean so what if they are six months behind schedule. :rotfl2:

If you go to Disney in July or August, the pools are going to be hot. I asked a lifeguard if they could pour some ice in the pool and he replied that it wouldn't do any good. There just isn't that much ice!

Just got back from OKW last night. Pool had to be close to 90 ~~ Very warm even for me!! They did have to close the pool at one point as a baby pooped in it!!! Not fun when it is 100 degrees out!! WE resorted back to the air conditioned room and got ready for dinner while they shocked it!! I was hoping that would cool it down some but did not!!
