I’m so confused though- it seems like it would be a logistical nightmare to separate our guests from Poly vs Poly2. There would be pool access for both?
Wilderness lodge allows access to both and is separate. You have access to the entire resort regardless if its 1 association or 2.

Association doesn’t change the access to the resort amenities. Currently, there are no common elements that are part of PVB. The pools, etc. are all owned by the hotel side, with owners getting a right to use them.

So, owners and guests at the tower will have the same rights.

Sandi, I thought you said depending how the setup is written the Poly2 pool could be limited off much like Bay Lake's own pool is limited off.

I should have been clearer. I was referring just to the current pools. No matter the association, the current resort amenities will be available to all.

I think it’s most likely that the new pool will be declared as part of the condo association and theoretically it could be limited to just tower guests, like BLT.

But, given it’s location and how the current Poly resort is set up with the current association,I don’t think they are going to create a situation to exclude anyone from the new area.

The new pool will most probably be open to all Poly guests, hotel and Poly 1, regardless of what happens with the association.
If nothing else, just because the Lava pool is already so congested. To make space for the new guests from the tower some of the guests of the hotel or Poly 1 should be tempted into trying the new pool.

Do we still believe that there will be no slide at this pool? This would be the first "main" pool to have a splash pad but no slide, correct?

What’s interesting is the fact that this is a tower, so it’s close to itself, but it doesn’t appear to have a monorail or bus stop, so you’ll still have to walk further to the tower than the spread out resort bungalows, right?

It does appear very convenient to the boat launch though.

You are correct, no monorail or bus stop at the tower.
But I wonder if they might have a shuttle between the tower and the GCH, like they do at AKV.
That would be an outstanding service!

The one thing I will like about staying in the tower will the ability to go from the villa down to a restaurant or bar without having to go out in the weather. Not something that many think about until a storm pops up right before dinner.

This pool will be more of a quiet pool.
It will be too small to be considered a "main" or "feature" pool, not enough room for a slide.

I know it wouldn't logistically be very easy to do near the lake and I know some people hate the Kidani underground garage system but man oh man that would free up so much space for so much more. Even if it was just landscaping and walking paths. Or more like a lazy river. Cars just take up so much valuable real estate! Same can be said at any of the resorts but especially the Poly area where everything is now right on top of each other.

Is it my imagination or did they take a step back from VGF and PVB for the studios? Seems they eliminated the double bathroom that make both original VGF and PVB studios popular.

These studios are going to be much smaller than the PVB studios. You get the extra toilet in the larger villas, so that's a plus.

Kidani’s lot isn’t underground. It’s outside on the ground level and the building is built over it.

Makes sense the tower studios will be smaller than PVB studios (which are huge). Hopefully they are not going to be small like BLT studios. VGF deluxe studios have the double/split bathrooms and I believe they are 374 sq ft. Seems odd that they went backwards from popular deluxe studio layouts.

Glad they added the extra bathroom to the tower 1BR/2BRs. Going to make these rooms popular just like BLT and Kidani 1BRs and 2BRs.

Smart move putting the restaurant on the first floor. Also the bar area on the pool side of that first floor restaurant.

It will be interesting to see if this is the only restaurant though. If Disney wants recurring revenue a $$$ restaurant on a higher floor would be wise. (Contemporary, Riviera, ...).
Napa Rose at Disneyland Resort is on the first floor.
Do we think it will be a quick service restaurant, though? Poly is lacking in quick service space, but already has 2 nice table-service options.
This would make equal sense.

It's gonna be a quick service. Watch them name it Tangaroa Terrace!

Kona already struggles. Ohana is one of World's most profitable restaurants. The tower is also so close to Grand Flo, they don't want to cannibalize Citricos or Narcoossee's either. Plus you have the Top of the World problem where they had to come up with Wicked Wind Down to make it profitable.

Seems like a wasted opportunity for future expansion at the top though.

Who else wonders where the poll would stand if @KimMcGowan opened it back up?

64% to 36% in favor of same association as of May 2022. Guesses for October 2023?

I feel like most of the clues we’ve seen in the past couple months (someone’s DVC contact said it would be the same then walked it back, and the corporate filing calling them Polynesian villas comes to mind) suggest it’s more likely to be the same association—but I personally think they may not have made a final decision.

I had wondered the same. Might be fun to make a new poll? I think it would be much closer to 50/50 split. 55/45 something like that. I'm still thinking it's a new association but honestly flip a coin at this point.
