Will Poly2 Be a Part of the Original Polynesian Condo Association?

Closing on my small Poly resale contract as we speak... I am now sort of leaning towards hoping its a separate association (as long as I can use the pool!) If point charts are high I would prefer less demand for the std longhouse studios. I've got 200 direct VGF points I can use if I need larger accommodations at likely lower points! A deal is a deal though, and if they have anything comparable to this summers VGF sale it might be worthwhile anyway?
Also... I once heard a rumor there could be a lazy river? Can we tell from the plans if thats at all possible? That would lock me in as a buy it now! :)
Regardless of whether or not the new tower is a new association, I don’t think you will ever have any problem getting a studio at 11 months. It always surprises me a bit when people worry about competition for making 11 month reservations; I have only ever heard of people having trouble getting what they want at 11 months in very special cases like AKL concierge and Riviera tower studios.

Only 6 2BRs?! How many do the other DVC properties have? Just wondering how competitive it might be for my family of 6. Eek.
Going by that room count, there’s 6 dedicated 2BR but also 88 1BR/studio that have potential to be 2BR lockoffs.

But a 2BR Dedicated > 1BR/Studio lockoff..... They do not compare so only having 6 dedicated is a sad thing.
Oh sure. But at least there are more options than just 6.

I can’t even imagine the walking seasons in advance if it were truly only 6.

Speculation I know, however, what are the thoughts on the number of GVs?

6 dedicated 2BRs is indeed disappointing. Depending on a 2BR lockoff can pose the same issue as with BWV. If someone walks a studio then that knocks you out from the 2BR lockoff.

I added the info so others wouldn’t think there’s just 6 to go around. Disappointing that the dedicated could be so limited but some will still appreciate having the lockoff option if that fails.

Wow!!!
Lockoffs will only have 2 real beds, where dedicated have 3 full beds.

I hope Disney gets creative and figures out some way to put 3 full beds into the 2BR lockoffs. Murphy beds do not work in all scenarios.

I had to walk a BLT 2BR dedicated SV reservation for my niece's during summer 2024 and BLT has a large number of dedicated. Her family needs the full beds (several taller/larger boys). If we couldn't get the BLT dedicated, she wanted us to wait until 7 months and book another resort where they would have 3 legitimate beds.

They could decide to make the studios with two beds, like the resort studios at BPK?

I don't think they care about selling out the resort. This is going to be last Seven Seas Lagoon project for awhile. So why price it aggressively?

I'd consider the VGF incentives from last summer to be aggressive, and that was a Seven Seas Lagoon resort. And if it's a separate association maybe the Poly super fans don't come out as much as they otherwise would?

There’s nothing stopping them from making some studios one way and others the other, right? Like you could have a studio 2 full/Queen category and a studio with Murphy bed category?

The more categories the more difficult booking can be. At one time, that was how BCV was with 2 bedrooms being two different ways.

I think it would make the best sense that the lock offs will all be the same

Good point.

Going to be really interesting to see what the final product is.
Information from the last day keeps reminds me of something Tim from DVCNews used to warn about. More unique view/room options could make a resort have a lot of booking problems. Hoping Disney listens to Tim's wisdom.

Disney doesn’t really care if rooms are hard to book. More orphaned nights mid week just leads to more breakage which is good for them.

DVC of old used to say DVC owners were their best sales people.

Scary their stock was more valuable in 2014 than it is today. Seems they could use a long term plan customer satisfaction plan in all their divisions.
