Perfect thank you!My guess is next May or June.

I would guess this is what Aulani looked like at some point & that is beautiful (IF high-rise is your thing)When I first saw the construction my reaction was "oh, that must be the prison that DeSantis was threatening to build". I hope and expect that they will make it look a lot more appealing!
From your mouth to Mickey's ears! THAT would be ideal!I can’t imagine a situation where they would want to create any situation that requires them to have to monitor it that closely.
My guess is that the new pool would become an amenity for the condo association…regarding of which way it goes…and then their will be a reciprocal use agreement for all pools between the hotel and the condo association…which is how CCV and BRV is done.
I was thinking the same thing. Surprisely I actually have faith in Disney in its look at the end because of Aulani.I would guess this is what Aulani looked like at some point & that is beautiful (IF high-rise is your thing)![]()
Some strange comments in this thread (not necessarily yours) about how ugly it is. Were people expecting it to have landscaping and theming and be beautiful at this stage of construction?I was thinking the same thing. Surprisely I actually have faith in Disney in its look at the end because of Aulani.
Is it supposed to look like the Poly, blend in well or totally different look? You can say what you want, but the artwork released for the tower is what it's going to look like.
They've been very consistent on hotel construction artwork since before Gran Destino. The rendering technology has gotten that good. It's not going to all of a sudden look like Aulani.
Aulani was a special project spearheaded by Joe Rohde. WDI had control over that project. Those people are gone. They were let go, quit to go work elsewhere or forced into early retirement (like Joe Rohde) during the pandemic.
Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) is the architecture firm that co-developed Aulani, Disneyland Paris Hotel and the Grand Floridian. They're designing this tower. It's not like they they're not capable of designing a themed hotel.
The difference with this project is that those Imagineers weren't around to spearhead this. It was handed off.
If this was supposed to look like Poly or blend with the longhouses the designers failed:Is it supposed to look like the Poly, blend in well or totally different look?
Jarring would be an understatement. The first picture is the tower render...

I don't think these two photos look like the same resort AT all. The construction photos submitted by users show the tower literally towering over the longhouses. I know the concrete is incomplete, but it will still be jarring if it looks like the current render.
Well surely it will look like the Poly or compliment it very well. I just can't believe Disney would do anything other, would they? Would they intentionally ruin the atmosphere like that?
Chapek...shaking my head. Ushered in a new Dark Ages...or more like Cheap AgeYou have to understand that Imagineering was gutted under Chapek, in both of his roles (Parks Chair and CEO). Like completely gutted. It really started before COVID. Chapek's plan was to eliminate most of WDI and just outsource everything and build attractions that can be replaced easily (using screens and tech).
Why pay for a huge WDI workforce? They were already working closely with these architectural firms anyway, so why not just let them have it? Same with attractions. Most attractions are outsourced. The firework shows have been outsourced since HEA.
It was all part of a leaner and more efficient parks division. Disney pays a contractor a set amount for a project. The project is over. Disney no longer has to worry about extra employees, benefits, etc.
I'm with @PolyRob. I'm not sure if they had already signed the material contracts for Reflections and just changed their mind on the location, really wanted a Waikiki look or just didn't care. These towers are very efficient to build and people seem to love them.
Some of it is our fault for jumping for joy when something like Gran Destino gets built. They've just reached a new level with this because it is very jarring and towering (no pun intended) over a beloved original resort.
No-one cared about preserving the theming at Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs.

Oh I know!It really started even before him. If I remember correctly, they outsourced animatronics all the way back in 2008, but it got worse after Shanghai was finally built.
I do wonder if those arriving to the entrance of the Wedding Pavillion will be 'enjoying' the tropical serenade resort music from the Poly.Probably slightly less tacky once it's finished
I hope they don’t play loud music and games at the tower pool. It would certainly carry to the wedding pavilion.I do wonder if those arriving to the entrance of the Wedding Pavillion will be 'enjoying' the tropical serenade resort music from the Poly.
As to visuals, I think the final facade of the Tower will be beautiful & enhance the surroundings.
Oh! Excellent point! That would not be cool...I hope they don’t play loud music and games at the tower pool. It would certainly carry to the wedding pavilion.
