The Poly DVC, then what?

I agree to the extent that DVC needs to do something innovative like AKV was. Although all of the recent additions have been pretty and desireable, it's going to take something new to continue to inspire future growth. I know many may disagree, but DVC is turning into much of the same old, same old. At some point in the future, it is going to cease to be in Disney's best interest to continue to build DVCs for fear of hurting hotel sales. I'm sure we're not to that point yet but we cannot dismiss the fact over the long haul. You're already taken a significant group who traveled often to FL and taken them out of play from hotel sales. You can't convince me that those numbers aren't starting to matter. They'll never get us back and we're already paid up for 50 years. That has to start to matter after a while.

Let's not forget the management fees and marked up services that Disney provides for all of us, like transportation, etc. I'm not complaining. I'm just saying they make a profit from part of our dues and all the money we spend at the resort in general since we don't have a huge hotel bill.

Disney is doing just fine. Hotel occupancy is on the rise, DVC sells out every resort they build and 3/4ths of the DVC points sold are to new owners.

They are coming up with ways to increase attendance in the parks and MDE and MB's have increased sales per guest. They also allow Disney to do a better job controlling attendance and crowd densities. They are ready for growth.

Although I doubt it has a high rank in the queue, I would be thrilled with the announcement of the long-rumored Los Angeles art deco inspired resort, which is planned for DHS.

With avatar starting to be built they could always add another building to AKV. They have a ton of room over there.
