I finally did it!

When I bought the new house it came with an alarm system. Today I set it off. And of course I could NOT remember the code to warn off the monitoring service. So this very nice policeman comes and insisits on coming into make sure I am OK. (I am VERY embarrassed.) I just let him in and showed him my Driver's license.

Now I have a good excuse (kind of). My car is in the shop and they gave me a loaner. No garage door opener. So I go to the front door and the key will NOT go in the lock. NO WAY. So I wind up using the key to open the pedestrian door in the garage which sets off the alarm automatically.

That happened to me about a month ago. I went to my mom's house for something and they moved their spare remote control thingy....needless to say, I was trying to explain to the guy that nothing was wrong in the house...I talked him out of sending the police....but man, was that alarm LOUD!!

I used to DJ at a radio station and did this like 3 times....it was very embarassing and the police were not to happy.

Atleast you know the alarm works and what happens if it goes off.

Carol, I suggest you get that front door lock fixed so your key works and memorize the alarm company's phone number [just in case]. If your town has a law about false alarms you could get a ticket the next time the alarm goes off in error.
