The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

I adore your story telling of seeing Figment & the journey into your imagination. This was one of the few things DS even seemed to "notice" the first time we took him, he was a mere 8 months old :cloud9: but we bought him a Figment character that he played with for years.

The first time we went to EPCOT & there was no Figment, all of us were disappointed.

Likewise, to this day all of us look forward to going to see Figment every time we go to EPCOT.

Soooo, did your gang make it back to SOAR over California?

Great update :thumbsup2

All the pictures of your family are soo sweet !!

The food looks super yummy ,we have never done the Coral Reef

Such a Nice picture of Lady & The Tramp

As I said before, Coral Reef is one of my top two restaurants at Walt Disney World!
You should DEFINITELY try it next time.
I look forward to that grilled mahi mahi every year!! :lovestruc

Who doesn't love that purple dragon (except up pirates of course ;) )?
Our crew loves to go visit and I cherish the portrait I have from 1993 with Dreamfinder and Figment.
I'll have to dig that up and post it.
Aaah, the memories...
As for the opportunity to SOAR, that would come later me hearties...

Ok you win.
I went and found my old scrapbook of that 1993 trip and sure enough there it was.
There's enough pics here that I think I'll do a "flashback" TR when I'm done here.
But as a teaser, here's the young Cap'n with good ol' Dreamfinder and Figment.
My, how time flies...

It's taken me 50 years to figure out how to post my pictures & they're just from last month :rotfl:

Can't wait for more :)

Finding the book was the easy part.
Now I want to scan ALL of the pictures in!
It was funny to go back and look thru it and see how much everything has changed.

your trip report is a riot to read. count me in for the rest! and your daughter is so cute! shes so photogenic!

Will def keep that in mind for next time :thumbsup2

That was New Years 1993-1994 and was my 1st "adult" trip as my and some friends went on our college Winter Break.
It was my fourth time at Disney and as I read my notes in the scrapbook, I was humiliated at myself.
The picture was labeled Figment and Pathfinder.
What a newbie I was...

But I did find my notes and the schedule we kept to.
So I think I just might have to try and recreate that trip report when I'm done with this one...

Outside of the restaurant was the entrance to the Sea itself!
Disney2009Pirates190a.jpg

We were indeed happy to be back on the seas.
Here, you can see the First Mate who can’t wait to get out there!
Disney2009Pirates191a.jpg

We rounded the bend and found another sign beckoning us onwards…
Disney2009Pirates192.jpg

From there we wandered down the beach and under the water to the depths of Davy Jones’ Locker.
Awaiting us near the bottom were a line of mystical clam shells.
Disney2009Pirates193.jpg

Me hearties were stuffed with grub and headed back to the sea – what else could a pirate want?
Disney2009Pirates194.jpg

Disney2009Pirates195.jpg

The clamshells took us on a journey deeper into the Big Blue but the rest of the story is a bit hazy.
I think all the rum me and me crew had earlier was taking its toll.
For you see, I swear on me pieces of eight that the fish we found down in Davy Jones Locker actually were talking.
If you can believe an old foolish sailor, it seems they were looking for a wee clown fish and the whole sea was in on it – even the sharks!
And don’t get me started on this great big sea turtle surfing on the East Australian Current (EAC).
It was a thing of beauty to see all these creatures but I sound mad recounting such tales.
Our clamshells finally deposited us in an underwater observatory and continued on their merry way.
Disney2009Pirates198.jpg

From here, the crew went exploring the life here at the bottom of the ocean.
I think the hit of the evening was the menacing sharks.
Disney2009Pirates197.jpg

After hanging with the fish for some time, we decided it was time to return to our own ship and rest our eyes.
On the way, the great sphere towered above us and we decided it was time for one more portrait from those sorcerers in khaki.
First with me maiden and me first mate (the rest of the crew was too sleepy)
Disney2009PiratesPass095.jpg

And then with just me maiden…
Disney2009PiratesPass098.jpg

Disney2009PiratesPass100.jpg

And with that we were off.
The iron horse took us back to our trusty ship.
The entire way back little X stared at a picture of a pixie and kept muttering “Tinker Bell” like in a trance.
I think this pirate may not realize that those darn fairies are pests and not things to behold.
Finally, the crew turned in when we reached the Dark Destroyer.
I headed to Old Port Royale to plunder some mugs and scare the attendant into combining my tickets onto the magical key to the Dark Destroyer.
Then I came back and transferred our portraits onto my trusty magical box (otherwise known as a laptop).

What lies in wait tomorrow you may ask?
I’ll give ye a hint – it starts off with an overgrown lion and some know-it-all little brats!
Stay tuned…

I'm guessing your next day will be at AK and first thing your gonna do is FOTLK :confused3

I agree that we definitely need the flashback to '93 TR!

Okay, okay - you talked me into it.
I'll do a "flashback" when this one is complete.
Now it's off to sort out all the Day 2 Pics!
And no, FOTLK at AK isn't even close!! ;)

Awww, the pictures of you & your "maiden" are lovely. You both look so sweet together :lovestruc

Hmmm, an overgrown lion & some brats?

My first thought was FOTLK - you ruled that out.

Next I thought maybe Simba who appears in Mickey's Philharmagic? There are a few brats that show up in that picture!

Only Simba isn't an overgrown lion.

Tigger isn't a lion. He's a tigger :rotfl:

oh, I give up :confused3 Looking forward to the answer!
