The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

Ok - You just turned a trip shopping into a crazy adventure. Nice job. The phone booth picture is priceless!

Actually, the kids have yet to see the Aristocrats.
That's on our list of Disney movies that must be seen before we head back to the World...

I guess that should be one of the movies that we watch on one of the days I'm over, as I've never seen Aristocats, either. :goodvibes

Your TR is delightful. You have a wonderful way of telling a story. It makes me wish I were one of your pirates pirate: Your kids are lucky to have such fun parents :goodvibes

Grab some rum and come aboard matey!

That's ok - he fell in line when his starting walking with the Cap'n!
He mostly was just getting very tired and little X skipped his nap that day with all the excitement.

Yes my kiddies tend to fall right in line when our Cap'n comes along also lol

Nice update & pictures of the UK :thumbsup2

The picture of X almost diving into the fountain is priceless

That's ok - I was able to plunder some of that there tea for Mom for the holidays so our maiden made out okay.
And our weekend was grand - thanks for asking.
Now we be shipping the crew back off to Pirate School!

I went out of town for a week (filled with pirates of our own!) and came back to a whole bunch of updates! What fun! I am really enjoying your TR popcorn::

Glad to have ye back!
But what pirates invaded your town?
Got news of me brethren do you?

Hi there !!!!Just reading along !!!

Arrgh! And we be glad to have ye!

Banners highlighted the way as we left behind the World Lagoon in search of the legendary purple dragon.
Disney2009Pirates121.jpg

However, some of the crew wasn’t taking our mission seriously and decided to stop for some ice cream.
Or at least pretend to stop.
Disney2009Pirates122.jpg

Lady and the Tramp decided to grab a snack and continue on.
We decided to meet them later as we first needed to track down the dragon.
We meandered our way through the winding paths and came across an odd site.
A small pond with what should’ve been a waterfall in the center.
However, the water wasn’t falling – it was rising!?!?
What kind of sorcery protects this dragon?
Our Maiden wasn’t worried however and posed in front of the magicks.
Disney2009Pirates123-1.jpg

Then we saw the entrance to the lair.
A circular warning inviting us into the Imagination Institute.
Institute indeed – I doubt there’s much learning with a dragon laying waste to everything inside.
Disney2009Pirates124.jpg

Arrgh – we unsheathed our swords and began our Journey Into Imagination.
Eyes peeled crew – them there dragons can be downright tricky…
Disney2009Pirates125.jpg

Entering the lair, you could tell who really runs the place.
Even the portraits showed the humans inside were scared stiff of the dreaded reptile!
Disney2009Pirates126a.jpg

Even worse, today the vile beast declared his den open to the public.
He was literally trying to draw more human slaves into his evil domain!
Disney2009Pirates127a.jpg

This next portrait revealed the evil demon’s name – Figment. :figment:
And this poor soul must be his favorite slave – poor doctor.
If me crew finds him, we’ll aim to put him out of his misery and make it quick.
Disney2009Pirates129a.jpg

Finally, we reached the heart of the lair – the central point of this Imagination Institute.
Disney2009Pirates130a.jpg

Strange vehicles arrived to draw us deeper into the dragon’s lair.
He knew we were here and we had no choice – we were compelled to explore further.
Disney2009Pirates132a.jpg

Almost immediately, the scaly purple monster made his presence known jumping out in front of Dr. Channing’s plea for help!
Disney2009Pirates134a.jpg

We even passed a door which paid tribute to the humans that came before the poor doctor.
Dream Finder – the one who discovered the dragon is alas, no more.
Disney2009Pirates135.jpg

In a room dedicated to experiments on sight, we found a chart of sorts.
Dr. Channing must run these experiments on the wishes of Figment.
Disney2009Pirates138.jpg

And apparently not very well as Figment himself appeared to change the letters into his own name.
Disney2009Pirates140a.jpg

Before staring us down like we were to be his next meal…
Disney2009Pirates141a.jpg

The Smell Lab was next and to what horrors awaited us here you might ask?
In this vile chamber, Figment tried to knock us unconscious with evil smells.
Avast ye mateys – this dragon knows no boundaries!
Disney2009Pirates142a.jpg

Then finally he appeared in the flesh.
He taunted us to come further into the Institute and me and me crew are not cowards so we pressed on.
Disney2009Pirates144.jpg

Finally, we arrived at the lair itself – and it was upside down!
This purple dragon was definitely full of magicks.
Disney2009Pirates146.jpg

Apparently, no humans had come this way before for the dragon was caught off guard.
He was awakened from his slumber on the ceiling of his upside down house.
Disney2009Pirates148.jpg

He made for the exit and flew away into the shadows never to be heard from again.
Disney2009Pirates150.jpg

We exited the lair into his Imageworks – a large tribute area to the dragon.
We searched high and low looking for the beast’s treasure.
Disney2009Pirates154.jpg

On the walls were images of the great purple beast.
To remind passers by what dwells within.
Disney2009Pirates155a.jpg

Disney2009Pirates156a.jpg

Disney2009Pirates157a.jpg

The crew decided to unwind at Figment’s Melody Maker – some sorcery he left behind apparently.
Waving their arms, the buccaneers made sounds out of thin air.
This dragon was powerful indeed.
Disney2009Pirates160.jpg

Disney2009Pirates161.jpg

Off to the side was a portrait of the dragon doing flips.
Except the portrait was animated!
Strange magicks indeed…
Disney2009Pirates162.jpg

Nearby was an area which seems to be a giant trap.
If you stepped on a certain square, it lit and music sounded.
I wonder if this was warning the dragon of trespassers.
The crew gave no heed and tried it out.
Disney2009Pirates168.jpg

Disney2009Pirates169.jpg

Disney2009Pirates170.jpg

We searched this ImageWorks and still no sight of treasure.
But we had worked up a great appetite and we be dining off the sea tonite!
We left this dragon’s foul place for our rendezvous with Lady and the Tramp and then to dine under the sea!
Come along mateys - there be more adventures ahead!

I'm all caught up! Great updates! :) The kids look like they had a lot of fun in Imageworks.
Your Dismeet sounds like a lot of fun!

I agree - I remember back in the days of old when I hunted that there purple dragon.
Back when his creator was still around and he wasn't so savage.
The lair was much more peaceful then and much more fun.
Too bad my crew will never know those days.
But with Kodak leaving, maybe something similar will re-appear in the future...

And the crew definitely got some R&R at Imageworks.
When they were done, they were definitely hungry for some grub.
Good thing that's where we were headed...

I love the pictures of the crew at Imageworks - definitely looks like they had some fun there!

Very cool Figment pictures and descriptions! We haven't done that before so it's nice to know what we'll be encountering when we go!

Sorry about the tea Capella mom! Don't you just hate it when you find something you really like only to find out you can't buy it anymore? :sad2:

DS came in the room earlier and wanted to know if Figment guarded Cinderella's castle. Guess what we'll be watching tomorrow?! :lmao:

Yes, it's def sad that our kiddos will never get to see Dreamfinder & Figment together :(

That would be great if they brought it back to something similar !!

Can't wait to see where you got your grub at !

Too bad it's not as much fun as it used to be.
But for the little crewmembers who never knew the olden days, they like it just fine!
As for guarding Cindy's Castle - small little purple dragons - no matter how mischievous - would not be my 1st choice. ;)

We be pirates matey! pirate:
We grabbed our grub by the seas of course!

We headed next store to a building peasants were calling the Landlubber pavilion.
Disney2009Pirates171.jpg

This is where Lady and the Tramp were supposed to be waiting.
We had hoped to Soar through the clouds with them on some new invention we heard tale of but only Tramp was there.
He said Lady was in the restrooms so we waited.
And then we decided to change into our evening attire.
Once we were all set to pillage for our dinner, we realized Lady was still nowhere to be found.
But now it was too late to go Soarin’ as we had a date with the fishes!
Lady soon appeared and explained that she was waiting for us by the Soarin’ entrance.
Unfortunately, that was not the message Tramp passed along. :confused3
Oh well – we headed off back to the Sea!
Ah, the good ol’ Sea – me favorite place to dine!
Disney2009Pirates172.jpg

I went ahead knowing that they usually take a while to find a place for us rowdy pirates to sit.
When the crew appeared, we took a portrait with them next to the Coral Reef itself.
Disney2009Pirates173.jpg

And then the First Mate with his captain – gotta love the matching uniforms our fair maiden picked out!
Disney2009Pirates175.jpg

Then it was time to plunder!
I ordered a Cesar salad followed by the piece de resistance – the grilled mahi mahi – my favorite meal in all of Walt Disney World!
Disney2009Pirates176a.jpg

Lady and the Tramp split the Appetizer for Two:
Seared Scallops with a cauliflower foam with black truffle vinaigrette,
Grilled shrimp with cucumber salad and BBQ beef skewer with creamy polenta,
and a taste of Creamy Lobster Soup
They each topped that off with the Grouper.
The Maiden had the shrimp and lobster cake appetizer followed by the apricot-braised beef short ribs.
Disney2009Pirates179a.jpg

And the crew each had butter noddles with either carrots (the Princess) or fries (X and the 1st Mate).
Even the crew’s plates were shaped like that rodent. He’s everywhere I tell you!
Disney2009Pirates178.jpg

For dessert, Lady had the Chocolate Wave while the Tramp went with the butterscotch crème broulee.
Me and me maiden each had the Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse:
Disney2009Pirates184.jpg

The crew settled for make-your-own sundaes complete with a dolphin:
Disney2009Pirates183.jpg

It was a grand time!
Full tummies make for happy pirates.
And happy pirates for make for memorable portraits!
The Maiden and Little X
Disney2009Pirates181.jpg

Our Pirate Princess
Disney2009Pirates182.jpg

The Cap’n with his Pirate Princess (and she’s showing off the dolphin necklace she plundered from the proprietor at check-in)
Disney2009Pirates185.jpg

Disney2009Pirates186.jpg

And then, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!
The first pictures of Lady with her elusive Tramp!
Disney2009Pirates180.jpg

On the way out, I noticed some other sea life attempting to escape like this upstart squid:
Disney2009Pirates187.jpg

And this illuminated Coral Reef
Disney2009Pirates188.jpg

Dinner was fit for a king!
We took our time, enjoyed our food, and had a nice view of the "ocean."
The crew enjoyed watching the fish swim by as they decorated their placemats.
Me and me maiden spent the time catching up with Lady and the Tramp.
Their adventure was soon coming to a close and we passed the time hearing of tales from their first few days.

Soon enough, desert was cleared and it was time to move on.
Lady and the Tramp headed back to the ship - we would see them bright and early at our next port tomorrow morn.
For now though, me and me crew had other plans – twas time to search the reef for buried treasure!
