A) Why is this "news"?
B) You don't have to make money to be a pilot. But it is something you have to have a certification for.
C) You do have to make money as a pilot to consider your career is as a pilot.
D) Flight sim <> flying experience.

Although he's never been to flight school or received any formal training, the man believes he's as good, or "possibly even more knowledgeable" than the average pilot - so believes his wife should refer to him as one.



If he’s spending all his money on sims, books, and has a mock up … just go to flight school instead! But that makes sense and clearly this guy doesn’t have any.



Also, from now on I would like to be referred on here as Dr. Fly Girl. I mastered this game and watched a lot of TV medical dramas, so no doubt I’m more than qualified to be your next surgeon.

As a helicopter pilot, I will say that until you've had the controls in your hand and actually been in the air you are not a pilot.
