Thursday March 10th brought clearer skies again, still a little cool out but at least it stopped raining. Mom & Dad decided to go to MGM with us today, they hadn't planned on it originally. The crowds seem a little larger today as compared to Tuesday and Wednesday but it isn't terribly bad. We head over toward Voyage of the Little Mermaid, stopping to see some characters on the way. DH and brother head over to do TOT and RNRC before the park gets to crowded. Last year we did VOTLMM and went right into the first showing of Playhouse Disney Live. That is what we had planned today but they must have been running a little behind or changed the times slightly as we didn't make it into Playhouse Disney for the first show. DH and brother had returned when we came out of VOTLMM, they got through both those rides fairly quickly. We decided to do the Disney Animation show while waiting for next Playhouse Disney as DS wanted so much to see the Incredibles. We didn't do this last year and enjoyed the little short presentation......after the show we got to meet Mr. & Mrs. Incredible and Frozone. Next up we went to see Playhouse Disney Live, DD was mesmerized. This show is a lot of fun for little ones, just wish they could figure out a little better seating arrangement as some adults in front forget about the little ones behind them and they end up not being able to see.
After the show we head over to do Star Tours, Muppet Vision 3D, I think these 3D films were my dads favorites. The line for the Toy Story characters was huge and DS said he didn't want to wait since he meet them last year. Ms. Piggy & Kermit weren't out so we headed over to Pizza Planet for some lunch. This isn't the best pizza in the world, but DS loves this place as he thinks it is just like the one in Toy Story. Something I ate the day before didn't sit well with me and I had been up early this morning with upset stomach, so I didn't eat to much as I didn't want to get sick any more. We go over and watch the Indiana Jones Show........DS and DH love this show, I like it too...brother & dad enjoyed this show as well.
We weren't really sure what we wanted to do next, DS for sure wanted to see the parade, we walked back toward NY Street and took some pictures. They were running some shows of the new stunt show but we didn't go see it. DH, brother, & dad went on the Back Lot Tour, we didn't get to do this last year, it was closed. Me, mom, DS & DD head for the parade route and stop along the way to visit with Sorcerer Mickey, I think he is my favorite. When we finally make it over to the parade route it is about to start and it is pretty crowded, DS is upset that he isn't going to be able to see, we cut cross the ABC commissionary and found a nice spot to watch and DS got a curb spot. We see the parade and meet up with the others under the hat. DH and brother decide to do The Great Movie ride while the rest of us go to play WWTBAM. This was great fun. At one point I was in third place but then we ran out of time.......if I ever had an extra day, I think I could spend it playing this game.
We next try to get in line to meet JoJo and Goliath but they tell us the line is closed, DS is disappointed as this is the last appearance today, a man talking with the CM offers to draw him something in his book, he had a name badge but he wasn't dressed like all the other CM's, his name was Tom I think. He drew us a Goofy......could this have been an Imagineer? He was really nice and also called over for us to see if Mike & Sulley from Monsters Inc. were doing photos today as they weren't listed on the schedule. They are and we head over and get pictures and autographs with them. DH and DS decide to ride Star Tours one more time while on this side of the park while the rest of us head for Beauty & the Beast show. DH & DS thought they would make it in time to see the show but they got back at the very end. DS was a little disappointed but we have it on video so he can watch it later. We all head up to get seats for Fantasmic, it is about 6:05. We get really good seats but by 6:30 there is standing room only, glad we came early. The sun is going down and it has gotten cool so I'm glad I packed the kids some pants to put on. Mom & Dad get some hot chocolate 2 = $9+. Bought DD & DS some cotton candy which they devour in about 5 minutes tops.
While waiting for the show I break out the glow necklaces and bracelets we brought with us and get out the kids light up spinning toys, we puchased these at the Disney Store before we left home. Shared some glow necklaces with the little girl in front of us.....she and DS started talking and playing with DD. Her name was Desiree and they are from Canada, so if you guys are reading this, hello from your new friends in Tennessee. DH and brother start talking to her dad & mom as they are sitting behind them. Learn that they are from Canada and they are staying at the same place we stayed at last year. It really is a small world. This is the first time they have seen Fantasmic, told them this was my favorite show.
The show was great, it amazes me that they can cause the water to spray up like that and project the film onto it. Way cool! We all wait around several minutes for the crowd to thin out a little before heading out of the theater, DS starts doing his (I gotta go real bad) dance so he and I take of for the restrooms. Didn't get a chance to say bye to our new friends. Hope they enjoyed the rest of their trip. The line at the photo pass shop is way long so we decide to wait and check them out tomorrow. Enjoyed our day at MGM......went by way to quickly though.
We head back to the resort for food and to thaw out. Just thought I would be warm on vacation, at least it isn't snowing.
Tomorrow is our last day, we will visit the MK for the last time until next year.
