I just read your other post about Shirley's daughters home and Shirley getting hit with flying debris!

Please offer them our best! I had hoped they'd faired much better that it seems they have. What a mess to deal with and still trying to fullfill everyone's orders. Unbelievable. When you speak to them wish them the best!

Hopefully Ivan will go out to sea instead of hitting the mainland. Weather forcasters are crossing their fingers on a cold front that we're getting now to steer it away

I just talked to Shirley and she is fine.

I actually got her to laugh some...talking about her dog.

She said they won't let them go down to the terminal or port so she has no idea how much damage has been done there.

She is exhausted physically and emotionally, but says she feels so blessed, because it could have been much worse. Her landlord and son are coming tomorrow to help pick up the pieces. I offered my DH too, but I don't think he could get down there with the roads and gas and all...but will try if she needs him.

She thanks everyone for their concern, calls and she said to tell everyone that she's fine and things are ok there. Now if she just had a cup of coffee.....Andy, evidentially, one wasn't enough!!!!

Oh My...I'm glad to hear a report on them...Ive been worried for days now. Let them know our thoughts and prayers are with them. She truly is a special person...touching the lives of sooo many people. Like MB MinnieGirl said ...she is a true "fairy Godmother" if ever there was one.

I am so glad to read this post, thank you Andy for the info and Phyllis for the update.
I was wondering if they had evacuated, I saw her post on Friday and I couldn't believe she was still there.
I'm happy to hear that they are safe, wishing I lived close by to give a hand in the clean up.

Let's all pray that Ivan stays away.

thanks andy for the update. i hope shirley's shop didnt get hurt tooo bad. i know there are lots of people they love to get shirley's gift baskets in there staterooms on the wonder and magic. i hope shirley can go look at the port by tomorrow. and just maybe get some pictures of the port too. god bless you andy and shirley and norm. are prayers will be for you and evryone effected by this current hurricane with ivan on the way. my uncle's home in stuart has some water and roof damage and i hope like shirley they get through it. god bless all

I am very sorry that the direct hit has affected you and Norm so traumatically. I am in St. Pete and we pretty much have dodged the bullit 2 times in a row.(A large pine tree went through the roof of my neighbor yesterday. All are ok though). Just remember our prayers and good thoughts go out to you nd yours as I know you will preservere in this time of Mother Nature's wrath. Be safe!!
