Oh my goodness! We have a family with a mom and either 6 or 7 kids between 8-18. In just this weekend....

-Basketball being dribbled for 4 hours in front of our house on Saturday! Only two hours on Sunday.
-One child rapping for 2 straight hours about Bi****h and H**e and stealing and what not. LOUDLY! Usually we only get a few minutes to maybe 10-15 minutes of rapping each day.
-Ball set off my car alarm twice. Which isn't bad since it's usually more than that from being hit with the ball or them running into it.
-The smoke from cigarettes is just unbearable sometimes and makes our backyard unusable with three or four of them smoking.
-Trash, Trash and more trash all over our yard. Soda bottles, ice pop wrappers, McDonald cups. They keep their own yard filled with trash and sometimes even with a fence it blows over here and plus they just toss it right over the fence.
-Lighters thrown into our garden. Two this week so far.
-They broke into the next door persons pool in the middle of the day while she was home with her kids. It's fenced and locked and they have the cops called several times each summer. Its the third time since the end of June.
-Oh and those little firework things from around 8ish to around 9pm every night with screaming, rapping and yes a basketball at times. At least its always done at 9pm! The bad part is we can't enjoy dinner or tv because they do this within 10 feet of our living room/dining room window.

I'm seriously going to go loony with these people. Just today since getting home that basketball has been bouncing for an hour in front of our house.

We've called the cops, talked to them etc and yes the issues have gone down. They no longer come into the flowers and stomp on them(Our first summer we bought $300 in plants and they broke and stomped on every last one and then we got the fence) and they don't bounce balls off our windows anymore. We only have cops come about once a month now due to full out fights in the street. It used to be more often but every ones been keeping ears out when they hear yelling.

Thank You for listening:hug:

BTW the mother(Aunt to 5 of them) works 60 hours each week and comes home and screams at them to stop almost every single day. I know its 60 hours because she'll come home and say "I work my *** off for 60 hours each week to see this trash here and ya'll acting like animals in the street" I think she does try!!

Don't feel so bad about the ****** who moved in next to me a few weeks ago (really miss the old neighbours).

Good luck. If you get really lucky maybe they will smoke in bed and burn their house down. It isn't attached to yours, is it?

I can sympathize with ya. I have a neighbor with a yapping dog that DOES NOT shut up!!!!! It barks at everything and all the time. Last year, her house was broken into. She came over to us and asked why we didn't do anything when we heard her dog barking. I replied "Your dog always bark." The dog is worse in the am (right at dawn). Drives me crazy:headache:

Is she renting or does she own the house? If renting, call her landlord and complain.

I feel so sorry for you and your family. When the mother comes home, why not bring her a plate of cookies or brownies and have a conversation with her. Tell her that you understand how hard she works but the kids are out of control. Perhaps if you ally her, she will ally you.

Or, you can buy an echo machine, so that every sound from them is sent back to them. :rotfl: and then turn up the volume.

I think we all have those kinds of neighbors. Mine for example, I can hear her side of every conversation, more so in the summer because the door is open, but I can still hear her in the winter! I know when they are out of TP, eggs, etc.:scared1: Get this, they bought a shed type family room free standing, and it is 3 feet from the fence that divides the property. She is the loudest, most annoying human ever. People think I am exaggerating, until they hear it for themselves!!! We keep a radio handy to play white music just to tune her out.

DH & I want to down-size. This is making me really nervous to move. I have quiet neighbors, with almost no problems. What if I move next to a family like this? Makes ya think.....

Situtations like this are why I moved out of a development 6 years ago and onto 40acres in the country. ;)

Ahhhh,,,, my very noisy, chain smoking neighbors recently moved! A very quiet bachelor bought the house.

I can now open my windows in the summer and sit out on my patio without listening to foul language and choking on smoke.

I feel your pain! Or used to...

Is moving an option? I couldn't deal with that day after day..

I'm sorry that you have to.. (

That's horrible! I don't know what else you can do. It would worry me that with no supervision, as more of the kids get into their late teen years, there could be more sinister problems going on.

I feel awful for you, and also a little bad for the mom/aunt. She must not get a minute's relief from worry.

Whew, Thanks for understanding! I honestly thought I was going to be criticized or something for not doing enough. It feels so nice to get this off my chest and knowing I'm not the only one with this type of issue.

By the way I love love LOVE the idea of some kind of noise/echo machine blasted on their side. Haha Love it but sadly I can't stoop down to that level :):rotfl: Plus I don't think the mother could deal with any more noise!

We got a really good deal on the home (you wonder why right! 40-50k less than the surrounding homes lol) and honestly I think we'll stick it out until hopefully they move or the kids move out. We have been here a little over two years and they have lived there since 1983 . We are slowly planting trees and scrubs on that side of the house. Especially ones that grow tall and thick! We figure we stick a forest in between us and it'll help the sound levels and prevent them from just watching us like they like to do.

Last week the city by-law people called us at 12:15AM to tell us they had received a complaint about people in our backyard and loud music. First time in the 3 summers we have lived here that we had a backyard party, and most of our guests left by about 10:30, and after that there were only about half a dozen of us sitting outside talking. The complaint came in at 11:30. I told the guy that we had the people, but not the music, as we had turned ours nearly off because we couldn't hear it anyway. Our next door neighbour frequently (as in every 6-8 weeks) will decide to entertain the neighbourhood with his window shaking music. Unfortunately, he decided Saturday night that our guests deserved to hear his music, too. I don't blame the people who called...they saw people in our backyard and assumed the music was coming from us instead of right next door. I wasted no time setting the by-law fella straight.

The sad part is this is a couple in their mid/late fifties, no kids at home. I have suspected for some time that they are heavy drinkers so I think they sit in their house getting looped and want to listen to their "tunes". I want to put a sign on the lawn saying "it wasn't us!"

You can download a free 60 minute white noise MP3 of a thunderstorm at this site. You could play it really loud and try to drown out the noise of the kids next door. :lmao:

Simply Noise Site, scroll down for thunderstorm MP3 download

My daughters wanted to try playing the thunderstorm MP3 when they went to bed last night. Sometimes noise from the neighbors bothers them when they are trying to go to sleep. I burned it onto a CD for them to play.

First, the thunder part was a bit alarming to my younger DD but she decided she could deal with it since it wasn't real. I set it to play and left the room but came back in a little bit to listen outside the door to see how they were doing.

I heard the following conversation:
Older DD: "I have to go to the bathroom."
Younger DD: "Why didn't you go before bed?"
Older DD: "I didn't know I had to go until I started to hear all the rain."

:rotfl:

That is absolutely brutal! I feel so sorry for you guys. We are actually looking at this one condo right now and to be honest, the neighbors is what I worried about the most when I saw the place. I couldnt imagine living with someone like that. Yikes.

I could complain about annoying things one of my neighbors does.

But I bet one of my neighbors could complain about me, too.
:confused3

IS THAT IT????

Shoot I know someone on these very boards who's neighbor had the audacity to put up a satelite dish.

:goodvibes:lmao::thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl:;):laughing::cool2:

Wow! Sorry you have to deal with that sort of stuff. Not exactly easy to solve. Sounds as if the mother is overwhelmed with it all. If you see her around I'd be as friendly as possible with her--even though it's her responsibility to control her children, she's not able to for whatever reason and if she feels a little empathy from a neighbor that might give her a teeny boost (not saying you're not already doing this ;)). Hopefully the older kids will start moving out of the house soon!

I have a neighbor who is a pain in the patooty! Nothing like the stuff you're describing and he's the only one in the household who's a problem. He's VERY territorial, which is what I think all the issues with him have revolved around. Finally a few years ago I had a bunch of family visiting, which I know sets him off (nevermind that he has several families living in his house ) and I gave him a plate of homemade cookies. I haven't heard anything from him since. Not that I park anywhere near his house, but knowing him he could still find something to gripe at me about.

Of course a plate of cookies isn't going to solve your complicated neighbor issues. Bummer! :rotfl:
