Our family loves the TTA and COP, do both multiple times each trip........ Our last trip there was in 2009 and Space Mt and TTA were closed and we missed both....Did the "what you see inside" change at all when they redid space?
thanks Jill 85 days and counting
Unfortunately yes. You still see the lift hills as you go between them, but you no longer get to see the loading area. Also, you used to be able to see the green glowing stripes on the trains zipping all around, but you can't see those any more either. Basically, after you go past the lift hills, your in total darkness for about 30-45 seconds with nothing to see. I definately miss those views, but still love the peoplemover for all the other views during the ride
We're TTA lovers here too! DD loves it and I fell back in love with it on her first trip. It's a nice break from the action and crowds; nighttime rides are the best especially if the CM lets us just stay for another ride or 10.
I'm a big TTA fan here. I remember it fondly from childhood and always look forward to a ride. In fact, if I close my eyes and try to place myself in WDW, riding the People Mover is often what I visualize.
Love the WEDway Peoplemover Especially because of all the history attached to it. If you have a chance, "Walt and the Promise of Progress City" is a great read and makes you appreciate the TTA and the monorail a lot more.
we too love this ride and we go on it every trip! and yes, its great for a nice relaxing break!! i cant wait to introduce my dn7 on our next trip.
ooh, a memory.... in 2000 we went on a trip and brought my dn15 and we teased her the entire trip. when we got on this and we were entering space mountain me, dh and ds held on and yelled "get ready for the drop!" you should have seen her face!! haha
You know, out of all my trips as a teenager and even this last trip with DH and our sons, I have never gone on it. We will definitely have to ride it for our next trip!
It's a favorite for me too. Back in the days before fastpass I used to ride it to see how many of the Space Mountain queues were open. The line always came out the door in those days and it made it soooo much easier to gauge just how long the wait will really be.
It was great for killing time before meeting up with my parents for lunch or dinner too. Got 45 minutes and can't risk getting stuck in a "20 minute" line that could turn into an hour? That's 2 rides on the people mover! One trip I actually rode it 12 times in a row without getting off just for the heck of it. Good times.
