The Pearl Guy in DTD

Hi-ya!
When I was at WDW in 2004 they had a pearl kiosk where you could shuck your own pearl and put it into a setting...do you know if they still have this??? BF said it was a waste of $$$ but I still want to do it!!!
When we went on DCL I won a set of pearls (earrings, necklace and bracelet) and thought that getting a pearl and setting it would finish the set.

If they do still have this kiosk...does anyone know what their ring settings cost?

Im pretty sure I remember seeing it there (although there is so much to look at there who can keep count), and I also think they also may have one at BC if Im not mistaken.

They also have this in Japan in Epcot. We are planning on doing this on our July Trip. I understand they have a bigger selection in Epcot.

Yes, he's still at DTD, also Beach Club on the walkway, and also Japan inside the merchandising store! On my honeymoon in 1976...I picked two oysters and both of them had two pearls inside! I still have them in the original envelope....thinking of bringing them down next time and having them set!

Anyone know what the cost is? How about settings? I'm assuming they are 2 seperate charges

I did it in Japan last week the oysters were 13.49 a piece. I got two of them and had them set in earrings and that was another 9.50.

Settings vary in price. They do have 14K gold or silver, so the setting can be very inexpensive or if you choose gold it will be much more.

We got one at the stand by Stormalong Bay last month, then had it set in a lovely ring. They have lots of settings, most aren't as expensive as mine was. But it was DH's present to me for our 25th anniversary, and I'd never gotten an engagement ring, so I was planning to wear this in the same spot. It's about a 7 mm pearl with 2 diamonds on the side, in a 14 K gold setting. The whole thing cost $208.

Jodi...the setting is beautiful.
I plan on spending a little money on this...bit I know what I have in mind so I will have to make sure they have what I want...
Something in sterling silver...that I know for sure...BF likes me ins silver and has bought me Tiffany jewlery ever since we got together...so this will be a little different...but fun to do and a good memory of our trip. If you've read my other threads this is our last big trip before buying a house and growing up (only a little-I will always be a kid at heart!)
