The Palm HRH vs Shula's

Not sure if this is the right forum but...

It will be our 18th anniversary during our April Disney/Universal trip. If you had a choice which would you choose?

We are staying AKL for 6 nights and HRH for 2 and will be bringing the kids DD 10 DS 14 so romantic atmosphere is not part of the equation

Tricky question, We love them both. Palm maybe just edges it for me but both excellent choices.

Shula's is wonderful. Another option, have you considered Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club? I've known of a couple of families that ate there for a special occasion and really enjoyed it.

Shula's. The atmosphere at the Palm has really gone downhill. Last time we were there, there were people in swimsuit coverups and flipflops. Not our idea of a romantic dinner setting.

I will echo Shula's. But be prepared, ESPECIALLY if you have young ones....

Shula's sizes EVERYTHING for linebackers. Steaks are huge. SIDES are huge. DESSERTS are huge.
Now, that's not a problem . When you waiter sees you with two young ones - he/she will advise you to SPLIT sides, and desserts .
Please - listen to your waiter .

I still recall taking my 18 year old son to Shula's . Biggest steak he had ever had, cooked PERFECTLY. Wanting dessert? He ordered the Chicago cheesecake....
It was wonderful - except for one little thing.... he GOT a good 1/4 of the total cheesecake . This was an 18 year old male.... no WAY he could finish it .

I would probably pick The Palm just out of convenience. You are staying at the hotel.

I've never eaten at Shula's, but it always gets rave reviews.

Yachtsman is nothing special IMO.
