I've been talking with quite a few DVC cast members over the past few weeks. I was calling daily to see if my new contract was in the system yet, then working with Member Services, Member Administration, and Member Accounting to resolve the minor mistake that was made in the closing that prevented the paperwork from flowing properly. And finally, three calls to Member Services today to use the new points and make the reservations we wanted.

There are occassional posts on here about sub-par cast members and people who have had bad experiences when phoning Disney.

I just wanted to share some positive experiences. Of the dozen or more cast members I've talked to on the phone during the past few weeks, I didn't get a single "stinker." Every single one of them was polite, cheerful, and helpful.

Thank you to all the cast members who still have the magic! :thumbsup2

Those with a Navy background will recognize the following as "Bravo Zulu," the NATO flag code signal for "good job!"

We have been members since Jan. 2000 and have made at least 11 vacations using our DVC. I have made tons of phone calls to MS because of day-by-day reservations and I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a negative experience with MS on the phone or had a rude CM check us in:flower3: .

Thank you for taking the time to post something positive! So often, I think we only hear about the small fraction of non-positive experiences with DVC.

Thanks for the couple of replies. :hippie: Guess the positive reports don't quite take off the way the negative ones do.

That's okay, I'm still in a great mood. My waitlist to change from OKW to BWV for our summer trip came through this morning. :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

As members since 1997 we have never had a bad experience with MS either.

We have not been members as long as you guys but totally agree. We have had such great service everytime we have placed a call.

I've had nothing but positive experiences as well.
By the way, "BZ" is not confined to just the Navy. The FedEx employee award for a job well done is called a "BZ" complete with the signal flags. I recognized the flags on your post immediatly. Founder Fred Smith is a Marine veteran.

Just thought I'd jump on the bandwagon, to try to balance out the negatives we so often read -- every single CM I have ever dealt with since we joined June 2002 has been helpful, warm and friendly and courteous. Most recently, a friend and I spent nearly 20 minutes on the phone with MS this week and the CM was so patient as we explored every single option for booking studios together for a very difficult time of year, availability-wise. Great job, Member Services!!

... sad but true.

Cheers to the CM's !!! - For all they do for us and for all the !@#$% they put up with from all of us. They do so with a pleasant, friendly voice and try to make our day a little better for each of us when ever we call them.

Hopefully the OP wont mind if I/we hijack the thread a bit by my asking of the dvc/dis'ers... please share some "good cm stories" you may have. Even if it was the simplest of things said or done that may have impacted you in a positive way to a long detailed story of something a cm might have done by goingthe extra mile to provide you with exceptional service.

Me personally, I have dealt with some exceptional CM's who double and tripled checked things for me, have called me back when they said they would, have looked into things and clarified and verified processes and rules and so on. One story comes to mind (hope this story doesnt shut down the thread due to its topic) when they had changed the smoking policy. Being a smoker (and a rule follower Ineed to add) and having witnessed what was occurring on here (if I detail, it will be shut down for sure and those who were also here that day wont want to relive it - trust me) I was very confused. So I had called to ask about the new policy so I would understand and make sure I followed the rules going forward as I was departing for the world the following week. The CM who took this call explained what she knew but wasnt certain as to a couple o fmy questions and asked if she could call me back as there was mass confusion internally due to them finding out when the public did (huge management issue, not a cm issue). Anyway, she called me back with all the information I had requested and provided additional information and explanation which made sense of it all. So while all the people on the DIS were arguing back and forth and not playing nice in the sand box with one another on an obviously heated subject , the CM was able to do what no one here could which was calmly and logically explain the rule, the affects of the rule and the reason for the rule which once explained made perfect sense.

Plus I have to add - Every time I call I look forward to hearing the last sentence said from all of them to each of us... "Have a magical day!".
This makes me smile every single time I hear it.

So what are some of your CM stories?

I had a wonderful CM at MS book my October 2009 ressie at Boardwalk. I had wanted std. view studio but it was not available entire stay, there was a preferred view for part of stay. The way the dates fell the first 4 days were in std. view the last 4 in preferred view. In order to book I needed to borrow some points since I had only budgeted the std view. The CM was able to put the resssie together with wait list for std view so that if the std view came through I would be able to take points that were left and bank them. I was so impressed by the CM taking the time to put this together and with their understanding of how DVC points work.

We have been changing our oct. resv. around so much and each cm has been great. We have alwas had very good service but with all of the changes the cm's kept coming up with more helpful suggestions :woohoo: When i told DW first thing she said was do you remember her name and of course i didn't.
Need to write it down next time but Thanks MS for all of your help:goodvibes
