Another successful swap under out belts!

Lilgurl25 was scheduled to meet shanhop today to hand off.

Welcome back to another returning swapper shanhop. I love it when families are able to us the fridge and stuff again. I still hold the record with 4 visits but we have a few who have done it 3 times and more who had done it twice. It's like I have a huge, international, family now.

I still have Christmas open and would love to have a family be able to sue it instead of everything setting at Luggage Services. Open 12/23 to 12/18

No worries. I talked to shanhop a few minutes ago and the fridge was found. Apparently the CM checking was looking for a fridge, not a fridge in a box. . But all is well.

Also, this emphasizes why it's important to take all of the info for the swappers before and after you, just in case. Recently, there have been a few swaps that were set up to swap in person that changed last minute. If this happens you'll need the next swappers cel phone number or at least their full name so you can leave a message with POP's front desk for them.

If you are participating in the swap and want my phone number to contact me just in case, send me a PM. If not, you can reach me by email, but phone is normally quicker. Luckily I was online when the message came from shanhop but as it turns out she resolved it without me.

So, after 157 families, and over 3 years, our little swap continues.

Just wanted to bump us up a bit-all those threads about Zhu Zhus are taking up so much room on the first page of the budget board that it's hard to find us.

And yes, I too am looking for a Zhu Zhu for DD10. She knows she may not get one since I won't pay more than the regular price for one, but I'm still hoping to score one. So I am one of those checking out the zhu zhu threads. I'll probably be at my CVS this Sunday to see if I can get 2.

Just a quick THANK YOU to all you have made this swap a success. Over 3 years, over 150 families, and no drama. We've only had a few families who haven't been able to use the fridge but due to the next swappers deligence the fridge has always come back.

I am continually amazed that something that started back in August 2006 has continued to flourish! I know some people (even some are on these boards ) think any kind of swaps are dumb. Obviously I don't agree. Besides saving families money (more to buy Disney souvenirs) are also doing our part to save the planet. Back in 2006 my Dm and I were going to buy one of the little fridges for our 10 night stay and at the end of the trip just leave it in our room. Then Disney would have held onto for 2 weeks (I think that's the right timing) and disposed of it. Who's to say it would have gone to a good home and not into the landfill? Or if we had bought a styrofoam cooler instead, that would definitely have gone into a landfill

Also I feel like I have made new friends, most of whom I have never met. I have had many disboarders who have used the fridge, and stuff, 2, 3, and even 4 times. Amazing! Many continue to add things to our things. Things have gone missing but someone usually replaces it. (Toaster, coffeepot, etc.) So nice!

Anyway, at this time of year it's nice to reflect back over the year. I have and I am very happy with my little swap.

Thanks again for the wonderful swap! I handed off the fridge on December 5th.

The pop-up hampers seem to have been misplaced, and it's my fault the clothes pins are missing (SORRY! They didn't make it into the box). But the toaster, hot pot, plates and bowls are still there, along with a bunch of plastic silverware.
