The ORIGINAL POP Fridge swap-Closing after 5+ years!!

Hi,

This is my 3rd post so I'm a newbie here! I'm interested in the Refrigerator swap at Pop Century. We will be there Feb 27th to March 8th. However, there is someone taking it March 7th. I would be happy keeping it until March 7th & then pass it along to the person requesting it on the 7th.

Please let me know if it's available & what I need to do. I can't PM you yet as I don't have enough posts?

Quick note-I've been going through and doing some housekeeping on my PMs (deleting, filing, etc.) and I've noticed a few swappers who need to get me their info. So, if you've received a recent PM regarding the swap, that's why.

If you are going in less than a month, hopefully you've made contact with your fellow swappers. If not, do so now. If you are going to be able to do an in-person swap (the best way!) then all you need to do is exchange cel phone numbers and make tentative time arrangements.

If you are going to be leaving the fridge (toaster, cups, and bowls) at Luggage Services then you will need the next swappers full name, ressie # (a MUST!), and check in date to put on a piece of 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper to be taped to side of box (bring tape as well). If the swapper before you will be leaving it for you, give them all the necessary info, inc. your ressie #.

When you leave the fridge, etc. at Luggage Services, try to get a claim check. Some swappers have had a problem recently getting one, but try your best. If you get one, leave the information at the front desk for the next swapper. Leave them the actual claim check (but make note of the #, just in case) or you could call and leave them a message for when they check in. This is why you will need the swappers full name, not their disboard name.

I had that problem too with 2 of the cast members I dealt with. They said luggage services doesn't give claim numbers. Now I know grumpy's gal didn't just pull that number out of thin air.

We had no problems at all. My DH left the frig at luggage services and asked for a claim ticket -- they provided him a ticket that's approximately 3" square -- it says "GUEST LUGGAGE RECEIPT" at the top. Then it says "RETAIN THIS RECEIPT TO CLAIM LUGGAGE" It then has guest name, room number, and number if pieces. It has a bar code on it and some numbers. This was on Dec 3 so as of then, they were still issuing receipts with no questions asked.

My time with the frig has now passed but I wanted to thank DisneyDaz for keeping this swap going (has anyone calculated how much money this has saved us as a group --how many days this frig has been used? just fun trivia I'd be interested in knowing) and wish you all a HAPPY 2009!!!

Hey DisneyDaz! I hope you had a great Christmas. I wanted to let you know that after a long talk with DH we decided it was in our budget to upgrade to AKL. We are extremely excited but I am regretfully canceling my need for your fridge. We honeymooned at AKL so this is a treat that we get to stay there again! Thanks so much for your help and wonderful offer letting everyone use the fridge. Happy New Year!

We are arriving on Feb 27th at Pop hopefully around 8:00-8:30pm if all goes well with our flights. Just thought you might like to know. It would be easier for us to swap that evening vs. the next morning as we will be going to MK early morning!!! let me know what works for you!

You need a few more posts to PM. It's either 6 (1 more) or 10. I can't remember which.

However, skatermom has asked for the same dates as you've requested. She wanted it until March 1st, but I can only let her have it until 2/27 p.m. If she changes her mind, you can have it 2/22 to 2/27. Keep watching this thread for her response.

How clever of you to see the penciled in swapper before the new opening. I actually just sent that swapper a PM asking if it's still wanted. I should hear back soon. You can definitely have it from 4/3 to 4/15 and if previous swapper backs out you can have it from 3/27 to 4/15.

When you get enough posts to send PMs (I think it's 6) send me your full name, ressie #, check in and out dates with approx. arrival times at POP, and contact # at WDW (cel phone if you'll have one with you) and I'll put you in as confirmed.

Once I hear back from trav_lynn I'll let you know about the earlier dates.
