Hi all

I wonder if anyone could answer this question for me. Is the organ in WP just an organ or can it be a piano too?? (crikey, I didn't word that right but its 1.40am here and I'm tired:laughing: )

The reason I ask is that our 2 children, we hope, will be playing our ceremony music for us at our wedding. DD plays the violin which she will be bringing with her and DS plays the piano....and he won't be bringing his piano! :)

I'm hoping one of you guys would know....the children really want to play the music and if it is just an organ, I will have to look into hiring a digital piano for the day.

Thanks in advance

From what I've heard, the organ has different "voices," so one of them is probably piano. However, I'm not sure Disney would let a nonemployee play the organ (and maybe your son would find it intimidating to sit at that big instrument!). But Disney can make just about anything happen, so talk to your wedding planner about your options. I'm sure they have an electric keyboard they can rent you. :thumbsup2

The organ can sound like a piano. It can actually sound like any instrument, which is really neat. However, it might be a little difficult for your son to play it (although perhaps he has organ experience?) since the organ keys look like this:

Minus the pipes on top.

The organist does an excellent job and it's included in the WP price I believe! Perhaps your daughter can play along with the organist and then maybe your son can play something for your "first dance" afterwards on the keyboard.

Thank you both for your advice. Looking at that organ picture, I think it would be way too hard for my son to play it.....I think we will have to hire one for him.

Thanks again guys.

You can have an outsider play the organ for you, as I had my cousin (who was an organist major in college) play for our wedding. He met with the WP organist during our rehersal to go over "organ-type details". So, they don't have an issue with an outside organist, but unless there is experience there, I wouldn't recommend it!
