The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Good morning! I can't wait for Lyzzie to come home today, I feel like she has been gone forEVER. I'm sure she didn't think of me once.

Did you guys see the announcement about the new Pirate's League at MK? It doesn't give much info here but there is more at AllEars. It looks really cool! It's like the BBB but for boys (and they have a package for girls too). They get made up in pirate gear with a photo session. I mentioned it to Emma and she hates the idea. She would really LOVE to do the BBB though. She also can't wait for me to get a job because she somehow found out what a mani/pedi is and wants one very much. She is such a little princess!

I was hoping to have a great day alone with Emma yesterday, but it didn't turn out so great. I think she is acting out either because of having so much time with me, or because of her sister being gone for the weekend. She refused to listen to me and ended up having a horrible day. We went to a church sale and Emma brought all her money ($1.75) in a little purse. I reminded her several times to hold onto it and not put it down... of course she put it down. We found it a few minutes later but all the money was gone. :( In a CHURCH of all places, someone stole money out of what was obviously a little kid's purse!! I was livid. She was just like, "Oops. Can we not talk about this anymore?"

Then we went visiting at the cat shelter and I told her not to climb on the cat condo, well she did anyway and bonked her head on a shelf. I also told her not to put her face near the owner's dog, well you can guess what happened. The dog grabbed her head and bit her hair (it is a tiny dog so it didn't hurt). The owner was there & said, "What she did was very inappropriate." He meant the dog, but Emma thought he meant SHE was inappropriate and it made her really sad, she wouldn't look at anyone and just sat on the floor sobbing silently. I felt so bad for her, but I was also mad because it was the end of a day full of not listening, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I don't give the girls many rules, but I expect them to listen when I do.

She continued to be a stinker all through the evening, but she seems to be back to her cheery, goofy self this morning. Oh the wonders a good night's sleep can do!!

I hope you are all having a great weekend. We have had our windows open almost all weekend, except last night when it rained. I'm finally enjoying Spring! Emma woke me up yesterday to tell me she saw a bunny in our yard. My mom is going to buy me some flowers for the front yard -- hopefully she will take me shopping to pick them out because we have very different taste!

I don't know if I mentioned it here, but I am also looking into going back to school. I just have to figure out the financial stuff, but if I do then I'll probably start in about a month. I'm excited!

Lyzziesmom, that is great you might go back to school!

Sorry Emma was acting up; I know all about that.

That is so exciting! What do you think you are going to study? Sorry you had a bad day with Emma yesterday! I'm happy she's being better today though!!!

We had everyone over the house on Friday, I think it went well. It was one of the very few times (I could probably count it on one hand) both sets of my Grandparents have gotten together in my whole life! Even though they used to live close to one another, for some reason we never did alot together (even though I did alot with both myself). We had my spaghetti for dinner and pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Then we played a card game called Pig Pile- its alot of fun!! Yesterday we didn't do much, we took a nap and went to the mall. Today we are wanting to take Ruby on a nice long walk somewhere!

ETA, HI Amber!! We must've been posting at the same time!!! :teeth:

My girl is home! And very crabby!! She had a great time at the campout and is now really looking forward to summer camp.

I am looking into going to school for a paralegal studies degree. I just have to talk to my mom some more about the details. She proposed an agreement where my folks will make my house payment while I am in school so I don't have to work full time, but I'm still not sure unemployment will be enough to cover the remaining bills. Lots of details to work out. I will be calling the school early next week.

Ashley -- your family gathering sounds really nice. I don't think my two sets of grandparents ever got together. They were completely seperate sides of the family and about a generation apart. My mom was the oldest in her family, and her parents were very young when they had her. My dad was the baby of his family, and his parents were already almost grandparents when he came along. That's great that both sides of your family were able to get together and it sounds like you had a fun time. I have never heard of Pig Pile, is it anything like Pass the Pigs?

Free food alert!!

On Monday, KFC is giving everyone a FREE piece of their new grilled chicken. It looks pretty good. Guess I know where Emma and I are going for lunch tomorrow!

Lyzziesmom- Congrats on possibly going back to school! I'm glad Lyzzie had fun at the campout!

Ashley- I can count on one hand also, all the times all my grandparents have been together! But they get along well and always ask my parents how each other are doing.

This weekend Steven and I went to a friend's wedding, we had a good time.

I have an appointment at the school this morning. Wish me luck!

Nicole, have you started your new position at work yet? How is it going?

Hey guys!

Yesterday was fun, I went out with my Mom and we both got pedicures. Then we went to Old Navy and I got a new pair of capris. We also made dinner- chicken alfredo which was realllly good! Nothing much else is going on. My parents are going on vacation so I have to go to their house this week and watch their cats.

Lyzziesmom- I hope your interview went well!!

Hey All!

Ashley, sounds like a good time yesterday.

Well, Mike suggested going to WDW tomorrow, but I don't know if we should (considering the flu). I am a big germaphobe/hypochondriac (I was in Toronto during the SARS outbreak and you wouldn't believe the freak out that ensued :guilty:).

Hope everyone is doing well!

Good morning my chickadees! It's a beautiful green spring day, even if it is a little wet.

Amber -- did you decide to go to WDW today? Have I mentioned before how jealous I am that you can just say, "Hmmm, I think we'll go to Disney today?" Don't forget to bring a little Purell!

How is the training going, Nicole?

Ashley -- is Buddy all better yet?

I have an appointment with the financial aid department at the college today. I'm not 100% sure that this particular school is the right one for me, but it seems pretty good. I was hoping to be able to work at TDS only but it looks like I'll still have to have a "real" job too. Oh well. The funny thing is that the campus director has the same name as me (first and last!) so I definitely stand out to all the staff and they already know who I am.

Last night Lyzzie was in a strings concert with all the district schools. The kids have improved SO much since her school's concert in January! I am so proud. She has decided not to continue with violin next year, because she wants to join band and play the oboe. I have no idea why she picked oboe, other than she likes saying it! :rotfl: I took a ton of pics yesterday of the girls all dolled up for the concert, I'll try to put them up later.

Have a great day!!

Hey guys!!!

Lyzziesmom, hope your meeting went well!! I know everything will work out!

Buddy is absolutely perfect!! Only thing he has left from the surgery is his shaved tummy and paw (from where they put his IV!) and a tiny scar! It's amazing how fast they heal. We got the test results back about the stones and now he always has to be on a special diet. The prescription food is kind of expensive, but he's worth it!!!

What did you guys think of American Idol?

I haven't watched Idol yet. We hopefully will watch it tonight.

Another (almost) FREE food alert!! Baskin-Robbins has 31-cent Scoop Night tonight from 5-10pm. Yummy!

The meeting at the school went well. I still have to meet with the director of the paralegal program - she has been stuck in court each time I've been there so far. She has already said that she can try to find me an administrative job in the legal field while I'm still in school, since I'm job-seeking right now. That would be great! Now we just have to wait for my transcripts to see what transfers. They kept asking me what specific classes I've already taken -- I graduated college 15 years ago, I don't remember!!

That would be wonderful if she could find you a job!!! I'm glad the meeting went well. It is pretty funny that you have the same name- she even spelled your last name the same???

Mini vent- I weighed myself for the first time in probably a year and I am absolutely horrified.:scared::sad1: I'm not a happy camper right now!!

Lyzziesmom-I'm glad the meeting went well and it would be great if she could get you a job in your field. That's too funny that the lady has your name also! When I was at PO, one of my managers had the same first and middle name as Steven! So Lyzzie wants to learn how to play the oboe?! I hope she likes it!

Ashley- I weighed myself a couple of weeks ago.:scared1: I miss not walking around at WDW. I managed to keep my weight under control then. :( I'm glad Buddy is back to normal!

Amber- So did you go to WDW?

As far as training goes, I haven't worked since Sunday. I work on Friday, we'll see how much training happens. But so far it's not very good. After school this morning, I went to the unemployment agency so they could help me polish up my resume for a job I applied for. I hope it helps!

Hey All!

We did not go to WDW; we are thinking about this weekend, but aren't sure (I am still freaked out about the flu). :guilty: I am trying not to get myself worked up, but it's hard (especially when people start comparing this to the 1918 flu). :sad2:

Ashley, glad to hear Buddy is doing well! Sorry about the scale, but I know how you feel.

Lyzziesmom, good to hear the meeting went well; here's hoping she can help you find work. :wizard:

Nicole, sorry the training isn't going well. Good luck finding something else.

Ugh, I haven't weighed myself for several months and I have no desire to. I got frustrated when I was exercising (ok not much, but more than usual! ) and still not losing weight. So I did the obvious -- gave up. ;)

Nicole, I'm sorry the training isn't going that great. Hopefully things will shape up soon. I have not worked for what feels like forever at TDS. I have almost all call-in shifts this week and all shifts have been cut down to 3 hours so we don't get paid breaks.

Amber, if it weren't for the DIS I wouldn't even know anything about this flu. I have no idea if we have it here or not. Obviously I don't watch the news, and haven't watched much non-kid TV in a week or so either. It sounds pretty scary!

Oh and about the school -- the program director that I still need to meet with is not the same lady who has the same name as me. The "other me" ;) is the head of the whole campus; this lady is the head of the paralegal department. They still all have heard of me though because of my name! The admissions rep told me that when she saw my application, she called the campus director and asked her if she was playing a joke on her. Our last names are spelled differently, it's one letter off.

I've got a ton of pics from the last couple of days -- coming in the next posts. Don't want to get too long (yeah yeah I know... why start worrying about that NOW?!) :rotfl:

This pic of Jonas just cracks me up. It is very typical of him... always thinking about FOOD! I bet he would get along with Ruby very well.

My mom saw this one and said, "Typical Lyzzie attitude." It kind of is, but at least Lyzzie was happy! She's like the girl in that Carnival (I think) commercial, where they say they are hunting that elusive creature, the smile.

I love this one.

Typical Emma -- goofball through and through!

(more to come....)

I love how you can see the fluff that they blew off the dandelions in these two pics!
