The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi All!

Ashley, how did the tasting go? I will pretty much try anything. Mikw says that he could order for me in any restaurant; he would just pick the weirdest thing on the menu.

My tooth is ok (knock on wood). They had to reschedule the appointment for the x-ray.

Lyzziesmom, Emma's first field trip - how exciting!!!

Mike had a phone interview this morning; he said it went ok. They are suppose to call later. Although, he is happy with what he is doing now and he has been thinking about going to school for teaching.

I liked AI last night; I LOVED Adam!!! That is such a great song and he was fabulous!

I'm glad to hear your tooth is ok, Amber. Best of luck to Mike on the phone interview. Is this for a position in FL or is it back home?

I still have to watch the last 1/2 of last night's Idol. We were planning on getting caught up but it just got too late for the girls. With Spring Break being over and them going back to school this week, there has been a lot of crabbiness in my house -- and I don't even mean the hermit crab!

My shift at TDS got cut tonight. I am on call tomorrow and if I don't work, I'm headed to a BBQ/birthday party for a former coworker's DH. I just hope they don't plan to have the party outside, because it is supposed to SNOW Fri nite/Sat morning!! :scared: I thought we were done with that. :( I am actually off work ALL weekend. I'm hoping to get some things done around my messy, messy house -- but you guys know me, we'll end up out & about somewhere instead.

The position is here. We are still up in the air about moving; I do like FL, but I miss my family (not to mention some of the drama around here, but for the most part it has stopped).

I can't believe it is still calling for SNOW!!! That is just crazy! I hope you have a great weekend off though! We are talking about heading to AK.

Hi everyone!!!

Whew, I just got home!! I promised I would come home straight after the taste testing, and here I am, 7 hours later...:lmao:

The taste testing was pretty neat!! There isn't a choice of food when you go in, but you are informed what your food is when you schedule your 'appointment', so I think I'd decline if it were for a burger or something. But if you don't like the product, you aren't obligated to finish it. I think the rule is you are supposed to finish half of it. My Mom said yesterday that for the Burger Shots you only had to finish 1 (there were 6 little burgers in the box.)

The food was actually yummy! It was a sausage, egg and cheese croissant from Burger King. We got there, answered a couple questions, then they lead you to a cubicle where there is a computer monitor and a keyboard and a little window. They slide you the food through the window and you answer questions as you eat.

When everyone in your group is done eating, (there are about 6 people in a group) you go in a little conference room and answer some questions (alittle akward but I survived!) Then you are given your check for $25. Not bad considering we were only there for a half hour! There were some homeless people in the waiting room (I think they probably just sit around all day?:confused3 I don't blame them though, if you get chosen you get free food and cash. I don't like the thought of my Mom going there alone now though!) I would definitely do it again!

Speaking of hooky, my Mom came home early from work because she had a bad headache. She ended up feeling better so we went to Japan Inn with my Aunt for lunch. I think it was expensive but it was fun! Then we went to PetCo and ran some other errands, and now finally I'm home and ready for a nap!

Oooh, I guess free dining is official!! I just saw the announcement that its being released to Disney Visa Card holders....hopefully its released to the general public soon! Every year I say I'm going to get a Disney Visa just for the promotion, and I never do!:headache:

ETA, Anybody know the new rules regarding ADRs? I thought I read they changed, but I didn't really pay attention. Is it still that you can book 90 days out?

Ashley- I'm glad you liked the croissant, it sounds really good!

Lyzziesmom- Yes, he does get paid OT. I hope it doesn't snow! I hope Emma has fun at her field trip! I can't believe she's ready for kindergarten already. Steven's nephew is going to be in kindergarten this fall too. I think he's going to end up struggling with the transition.

Amber- That's great that Mike is thinking about becoming a teacher!

I wish I could book a free dining trip! I want to go back!

I wish I could book free dining too. If I end up getting the promotion at TDS, I would probably get a Maingate pass so then I'd definitely book something.

Ashley, I've been trying to get a Disney Visa for years and they keep denying me. I don't know why, my credit used to be bad but it's good now and I already have 3 Chase Visa cards, for some reason they just won't give me the Disney one. I guess it's just not meant to be. I haven't seen anything about ADR rules changing recently. A while back I think it changed to 90 days where some places where 180, but I'm not sure. I don't usually book that early because eating isn't that big of a deal for us.

Amber -- I'm SO jealous that you guys get to go to WDW so much! As much as I didn't like living in FL (too darn hot), I would really love to just go to WDW for a day or weekend. It never gets old or boring!

Ashley, I think it is 90 days to book ADR's. I just checked http://pscalculator.net/allearsnet/pscalcae.php and they say 90 days.

Lyzziesmom, I do love being able to go so much. I would miss that if we moved. My MIL wants to go again and we are hoping to try FOTLK (last time we tried Spencer FREAKED, but since he did well at Biergarten we want to try again).

Hey everyone,

If you could spare some pixie dust for Ruby I would appreciate it. Her stomach has been alittle upset all week, but today it has gotten pretty bad so we are taking her to the vet. Hopefully its nothing and I'm just being paranoid, but I hate to see her sick and not feeling good.:guilty: I thought I better bring her in today before the weekend, I've had to bring her into the emergency vet before and it ain't cheap!

Ashley- pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: Tons of pixie dust for Ruby! I hope she feels better!

Thanks Nicole! She hasn't had any episodes since around 10 am so that makes me feel better. Apparently Jeremiah was up with her during the night, I didn't even notice he left the bed! I feel alittle silly taking her to the vet, but atleast I will get peace of mind. I also don't want her becoming dehydrated. I'm happy because my Mom is getting off early today, so Jeremiah won't have to leave work early to take us.

On a little bit of a happier note, I am getting my budget together for Disney! Of course I keep trying to get Jeremiah to stay for more nights, but he is never convinced! I think we are budgeting for 6 nights. Is it September yet?:rolleyes1

Amber, that's great news about Mike! Sorry I didn't comment earlier. It would be great to have him off for the summer too!

Lin, we haven't heard from you in a while! Check in if you can!

Anybody have any plans for this weekend?

Good Morning!

Ashley, I hope Ruby is ok.:wizard: I don't think it's silly to take her to the vet; better safe than sorry.

Any idea where you will stay at WDW? We were planning on another short stay in April (for our anniversary) and can't decide where I want to stay. I love POP, but I would like to try a mod.

Well, the company Mike interviewed with yesterday called and left a message this morning. The woman said they are very excited about him and want to set up a face to face interview. I don't know when it will be, because the interviewer is on vacation next week. From what Mike told me, it sounds like a nice place to work and the pay is pretty good (especially for FL). The only thing that stinks is if he gets it, we will most likely not be able to go visit my family in May. :guilty: I don't know if I can put off seeing them again, so we will have to figure something out.

We were suppose to go to AK on Sunday, but now they are calling for rain. So, I am not sure what we will do. I do want to go to Toys 'R Us and find Spencer a toy storage unit.

Probably Pop. I would love to stay at a deluxe, but honestly we have so much fun at Pop and I can't really justify the cost right now. We love to sit out by the pool and get a couple drinks (evidence in trip report:rolleyes1)and we like the food court. It's just a fun atmosphere. Getting a preferred room is a must for us though!

I've stayed at all the mods. They are nice but I don't see how they are worth the price difference from the values. It's always fun to experience a new hotel though! My goal is to stay at all the Disney hotels atleast once!

When is your anniversary? My parents is April 24th. They are going to be celebrating 23 years!

That is fantastic news about Mike!!!!:yay::woohoo: I'm so happy for you guys!! Sorry you would have to postpone your trip though! Don't worry, everything will work out!

Amber, great news about Mike's interview! Hopefully he will get the face-to-face soon and get the ball rolling. Would you consider going to visit your family without him? It can be hard to get time off from a new job. Sorry about the rain ruining your AK plans.

Ashley -- I hope Ruby is ok. My first thought was, "Uh oh, NOW what did she eat?" I remember her eating an entire bag of Reeces, the little stinker!

I don't have any big weekend plans. (Forgive me if I said this already, I am too lazy to look back through the posts right now.) I am off work at TDS the whole weekend, but of course we are getting nasty weather here so I'm not sure if we'll even do anything. If I don't work tonight, I'm supposed to go to a BBQ/bday party but I hope they will move it indoors! Emma wants to make snowmen and snow angels all weekend. I really need to get my desk cleaned off & organized, I've almost forgotten what the top of the desk even looks like.

Yesterday we went to Office Depot to get a refill cartridge for my labelmaker so I can really get my filing looking nice. Well the Office Depot near my mom's house has had signs out for a couple weeks that they are closing and everything is up to 75% off, so of course we went there. They were already closed, which is weird because they were standing outside with signs earlier yesterday. We went to another location and I was shocked that the refill cartridges are almost $35!! I bought the labelmaker a couple years ago, with tape included, for under $15. I had no idea the refills were that expensive. I had been at Target over my lunch hour and saw a new labelmaker for $20 (Office Depot had it for $32) so I told the sales guy at Office Depot I'd just go and get that. Well I didn't know they price-match there, so I ended up getting the same one Target had, with TWO refill cartridges, for $20 without having to make another trip! And the best part is that the refills for the new one are only $8. So I guess now I have no excuse for not getting my files all organized and beauteous.

Emma went on her first field trip today, I can't wait to hear how it was. She was so excited! They went to see a play. Emma is so funny, the part she was most looking forward to is riding on a school bus. She said it'll be even more fun than a Disney bus! :o

Amber, I really liked POFQ. I thought it was just so beautiful, quiet and romantic. Ashley is right though, there really isn't that much difference and it's hard to justify the price hike. The rooms are identical except for pedestal sinks and prettier furniture, but the same size & layout. There are no lines at the bus stops, you do get to sit on benches. During busy times that can cause a free-for-all when the bus arrives. I think the bus stops are covered too but I could be wrong. You don't have to walk quite as far to the bus when leaving the park. There is more landscaping, less Disney theming (still great themeing, just not as "Mickey-fied") and some mods have a TS restaurant. I think that's the only differences. I haven't stayed at any of the other mods, unless you count POR back when it was Dixie Landings. Good luck deciding!

. My first thought was, "Uh oh, NOW what did she eat?" I remember her eating an entire bag of Reeces, the little stinker!
:lmao: I don't think she has eaten anything bad this time!! Since she started doing that stuff, I've been super strict about leaving ANYTHING out for her to get....Unfortunately I think those episodes really have affected her now, since I think it caused her pancreatitis. This just may be a flare up. When she used to get sick (act like she had a tummy ache) the vet said to give her 1/2 a pepcid so that's what I did this morning, and I think it helped her! I'm still going to the vet just to be safe. When we took her for her last check up we bought a package (that I thought was a rip off at the time but I felt pressured) and fortunately because of that we get "sick visits" for 50% off.

Emma went on her first field trip today. Emma is so funny, the part she was most looking forward to is riding on a school bus. She said it'll be even more fun than a Disney bus! :o

How exciting!! I can't wait to hear about it either!! I remember when I was younger, just absolutely loving riding the Disney busses!! I can totally relate!;)

Glad you got that great deal! I love it when stores price match!

There is more landscaping, less Disney theming (still great themeing, just not as "Mickey-fied")

I think that's what I miss when I stay at the Mods. For some reason that "in your face" Mickey theming at the values just makes me feel like I'm on vacation! But the Mods are beautiful. I think my favorite is Coronado Springs. Like I mentioned earlier though, it's important for me to be close to the food court and bus stops, and that's not always guaranteed (spelling nazi, your help please :teeth: I don't feel like spell checking) at a Mod.

When is your anniversary? My parents is April 24th. They are going to be celebrating 23 years!

April 18. We will have been together 11 years and married 6 (we got married on our anniversary - easier to remember that way ;))

Amber, great news about Mike's interview! Hopefully he will get the face-to-face soon and get the ball rolling. Would you consider going to visit your family without him? It can be hard to get time off from a new job. Sorry about the rain ruining your AK plans.

I would go without him, but he also really wants to go (to see friends and one of my brothers). My MIL is suppose to go in May for her niece's graduation and I could ride with her. We shall see.

Congrats on the new label maker!

I am still on the fence about the mod. I really do love the values (like Ashley, they give me the same feeling). We most likely wouldn't eat at the TS place, and we rarely use busses. Still, I would like to try all the resorts. Now, if I could swing it, I want to stay at the Poly; it's my favorite! I think it would be nice to have the monorail with Spencer.

Well, we're back from the vet. $160 later. :sad2: I know it could be much much worse but it seems like I can never get out of there without spending $100!

The bottom line is, they don't know what's causing Ruby to be sick.:headache: They tested her for parasites and she is negative. She could've caught something from the dog rescue event we took her to this weekend. She is on 2 medications and she needs a recheck in 5 days. She also is on a bland chicken/rice diet for 3 days which I'm sure she'll think is her reward!!!

Ashley- I hope they find out what is bothering Ruby.

Amber- Congrats to Mike on the interview!

I want to stay at Coranado Springs one day. I really liked the resort when I worked there for a week. It's my dream to buy DVC at either Yacht and Beach or the Boardwalk one day. I think you all know what resort is my favorite though! ;)
