The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Amber, those places with peanuts are a big hit with us too. They all seemed to be named something with Roadhouse in the name! In FL we had Roadhouse Grill, here we have Texas Roadhouse, and I guess you have Cody's Roadhouse. I suspect they are all the same restaurant.

How great would it be to wake up in WDW on your birthday?! I don't know about the online ADR's, but I know for regular ADR's you don't need a resort reservation to make ADR's. (Do I win a prize for using ADR's so many times in one sentence?) Maybe you could try to make ADR's and see if you get what you want before you decide to book a trip? Usually it's not too hard to get early dinner times even during free dining, it's the ones right around 6-7pm that can be hard to get. As long as you're flexible within an hour or so and have a couple backup options you should be fine.

Your grandma sounds so happy. The surgery seems to have really helped her.

I was so excited to go grocery shopping today (doesn't that sound weird?) because we are very low on food, but I have to go pick up the EBT card on Monday.

The marble place was really neat. There was a demonstration of hand-made marble making which reminded me of the glass blowers at WDW in that shop on Main Street. There was a huge store with a wall full of bins of marbles, you could fill up a tube for a fixed price depending on the size of the tube. We got a small one and it took Emma 40 minutes to choose her marbles. I think she liked that much more than the demo. :rotfl:

It rained the whole time we were there so it looks like I won't be planting my new flowers today. For some reason the rain made it hotter outside so now it's wet and in the mid-80s. I'm feeling pretty rotten anyway because I got my "visitor" last night. PMS must be contagious because Emma is mighty crabby too!

Sorry you aren't feeling so great. Here's something to help:

We have a Texas Roadhouse too, but we haven't been there yet.

The marble place sounds interesting.

I have an ADR for my birthday (LTT for lunch), but I don't have a resort reservation (still not sure if we will stay overnight). I'm worried about Sept., but I already have that resort (ASMu) I can't make my ADR's until the 30th. I want to eat early (around 5), because it should be easier with Spencer (although, he usually doesn't sleep until after 11pm ). Oh, and you don't have to have a resort reservation to book an ADR online (unless you are doing the 90+10).

Aaaahhh, chocolate and froufrou drinks. Perfect! :teeth:

Lyzziesmom- I'm glad you and Emma had fun at the marble factory, that's so cute that she took 40 minutes to pick out her marbles! I hope you're able to plant your flowers soon! That's great you got approved! Don't ever feel embarrassed. Like Ashley said, we've all been there.

Amber- I'm so happy for your grandma! :cheer2: We don't have a Cody's Roadhouse here, but we have Texas Roadhouse and Logan's Roadhouse. Texas Roadhouse has the best ribs on Earth!

Ashley- I'm glad you had fun at dinner, but I'm sorry about your waiter.

Steven and I went to Galveston yesterday, we didn't go to the beach though (I refuse to step foot on that nasty thing!) We went to the Strand, a shopping strip, and it's sad, many shops still aren't open thanks to Ike. After that we saw The Hangover and it was pretty funny!

but we have Texas Roadhouse and Logan's Roadhouse.

Oooh, I miss Logans!! That used to be one of my favorite restaurants. We don't have any in this area that I know of! They have the best rolls!!

I'm taking a break from cleaning. I slept horrible last night so I am exhausted. Atleast I have some time until everyone starts getting here at 6!

I just looked out the window and my neighbor is mowing my lawn! I have not talked to him in a very long time (probably since late last summer?) but the girls play with his girlfriend's kids nearly every day and when school was in session I would talk to his GF while waiting to pick up the kids. I'm guessing the kids mentioned that my parents are away, and the GF made him do our lawn. Anyway, it's a nice surprise since the lawnmower and I are not good friends. Neighbor has a riding mower so it's easy for him to just drive on over to ours when he's doing his already.

I had to take the DS away from Emma yesterday and now she is not allowed to play video games for a week. I had told her twice that she couldn't play DS yesterday, and then while she was watching tv I heard her pushing buttons. She had turned the volume off and when I stood up she quick shut the cover and stuck it in the couch cushions. She still doesn't seem to understand what she did wrong, despite going to bed early, "I was tired anyway," doing all her laundry, "Folding is fun! Lint is awesome!" and having no video games for a week, "But my laptop is educational." This girl is going to be a JOY in her teenage years, I tell you.

I feel horrible right now. I was putting Emma to bed and while I was reading to her, she put her foot in the air so I tickled it. She took her other foot and kicked me in the face!! I stopped reading immediately, told her kicking is never ok, said goodnight, and left her room. Now she is in there sobbing her little heart out. I hate listening to it but I know I can't give in.

She has really been pushing the limits with me especially this week while Lyzzie is gone. She doesn't seem to think I'm serious about the rules. The thing is, I don't have too many rules with the girls because they are good kids and generally don't need many rules, but when they do break one I don't take it lightly. It floors me that they always seem surprised that I actually mean it. I can hear her in there now, she keeps stopping for a second to listen for me and then starts crying louder. Now she is mumbling, "I want Mommy," and then screaming when I'm not coming :( I know it won't last long but it kills me and I feel terrible. But she kicked me! In the face! Hopefully she will remember this and not ever do it again.

Lyzziesmom, sorry you feel guilty about Emma...you are right though, she needs to learn her lesson! She will though, she is a smart girl and hopefully you won't have to deal with this particular situation again! You are doing the right thing, even if it hurts!

Everyone left about 40 mins ago. It was fun and we had ALOT of food!! Hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, mac and cheese, and corn!! Too much food for only 6 people! Oh- and we had 2 desserts- lemon merinque pie and strawberry shortcake!

Tomorrow my Dad's parents are coming into town to stay with us for the night (they are the ones we rent the house from). We are leaving for Gainesville on Thursday, getting back on Sunday, then leaving for Jacksonville on Tuesday so we have a couple busy days ahead! I completely exhausted myself cleaning today, I am totally wiped out!!
It will be an early night for me tonight, surprising because I'm a nightowl!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! :grouphug:

Lyzziesmom- I'm sorry about Emma, hopefully she will learn her lesson.

Ashley- All that food sounds so good! Have fun with your grandparents!

How is the visit going, Ashley? I'm tired just reading about your week!

I didn't sleep at all last night. For some reason I just haven't been tired at night. You would think I could use that time to get a ton of things done, but nooooooo... I waste it trying to sleep even though I'm not tired. Meanwhile I have a small mountain of laundry that needs to be folded & put away, but I have seen just about every episode of Roseanne ever made. It's on pretty much all night and I thought it would make me tired but instead I got interested.

I picked up our EBT card today and went food shopping. OMG soooo much food!! They gave me more than I could ever spend and while I didn't go crazy (still used coupons & bought generic -- hey cheapness is apparently a hard habit to break!), I did stock up on some non-perishables and replenish pretty much everything; we hadn't decently shopped in a couple months. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they accept the card at the Chinese market.

I picked up some Chinese candy and then when we went next door to the thrift store, it all melted in the car. :( Oops. It was SO hot today. I feel so bad for Lyzzie being with no a/c all week, this has got to be the hottest week of the year at least so far. Emma got some Spree candy from the gumball machine and I put it in my pocket, went straight out to the car & took it out, and it was already melted. :scared:

Gotta go read to Emma. Somehow the day got away from us and here it is almost 10:30pm and she is still up!

Can't wait to go pick up Lyzzie tomorrow afternoon!! I miss that girl something awful. I haven't gotten any mail from her so she must be having a great time.

but I have seen just about every episode of Roseanne ever made. It's on pretty much all night and I thought it would make me tired but instead I got interested.

Roseanne is my all time favorite show! I've seen every episode too. We've been recording the marathons and I watch them, but I also have all the DVD's and we have them on when we go to sleep. That show just makes me happy!

So glad you stocked up and got food! That's great. Sorry you haven't been able to sleep! I've been that way lately too (who am I kidding, its been going on for a long time!)

You must be so excited about Lyzzie getting home tomorrow!!

Amber- YAY! for planning to go to Disney on your birthday!! :woohoo:

Having my Grandparents over is great. I miss them alot! Tonight we went to Wing Stop for dinner and watched National Treasure (they had never seen it.) Tomorrow my Papa has to work on a boat (his business is repairing broken parts/installing things on boats) in Miami so I'm going with them. It's always fun!

I also have a dentist appointment tomorrow......:sad2: Have I explained to you guys enough times how much I hate tooth pain??! :guilty: It's so discouraging.

Lyzziesmom- Yay for stocking up on food! I know what you mean about not being tired at night. Roseanne is a pretty good show, I need to see when it's on here. I've been watching Family Matters on Nick at Nite. I think I've seen every episode of that show! I'm sure Lyzzie will have tons of stories to tell you!

Ashley- I'm glad you are having a great time with your grandparents! Good luck at the dentist's tomorrow!

I just typed out a long post but realized it was all whining so instead I will leave you with this:

funny-pictures-cat-sits-on-your-coffee.jpg

Ashley, sorry for the tooth. I feel your pain.

Have fun in Miami! I want to get down there some time.

Lyzziesmom, yeah for food!! Sorry that the candy melted. It's been miserably hot recently (heat index over 100).

Hi Nicole! :wave2:

I booked Pop for my birthday!!! :cheer2: It's only for the night, but since we plan on going in Sept., I'm happy. My mom offered to pay for it as my present. We have the dining plan and have an ADR for LTT. We originally were going to do LTT for lunch, but since we are staying the night, we now are going for dinner.

That's great Amber!!!!!:dance3::yay::woohoo:

Lyzziesmom- If you want to whine, go ahead! We're here to listen! I had a long post typed out too then I decided to erase it, short version-someone I used to "date" found me on FB (don't you just love Facebook) and we talked for a little while last night. I should have just ignored him, but I didn't. :headache:

I have an interview with another staffing agency, we'll see how it goes.

I have an interview with JetBlue tomorrow! I'm so scared about the physical though, I've been lifting weights for the past couple of weeks, and today I tried to lift a suitcase filled with 50lbs of weights. :scared: Boy was that heavy. I could hardly lift it! So I'm pretty worried. :(

Hey guys!!!

Just checking in before we go out of town tomorrow!! Today was a good day, I got to see my Aunt who just moved back from Ohio. It had been a year, that is way too long! We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, went to Best Buy, Ikea, Petco and Sears...I am exhausted!! :faint:

My visit at the dentist yesterday wasn't fun. My tooth felt ok until he started poking around on it and then it started hurting terribly. :scared1: I am on antibotics right now, but I am going to get the tooth pulled shortly. I'm not too worried because its the last tooth on the top left. If it were a tooth in the front of course I would be getting it retreated and getting another crown (it already has been root canaled and has a crown.:rolleyes1) ANYWAY!! Today the pain was too bad so they called me in pain meds. Thank goodness!

Nicole, good luck with the JetBlue interview!! Maybe after lifting the suitcases you would get used to it and it wouldn't be as heavy!!

If I can't check in tomorrow before we leave, I'll talk to you all on Sunday!! :grouphug:

Oh! I forgot to mention- we booked our room at Portofino Bay tonight!! Originally we were supposed to be staying at Royal Pacific, but all of the cheaper rooms are booked up. I'm excited, we've never stayed there before! :cool1: The pictures look really nice!

Ashley- Congrats on booking Portofino Bay! :dance3: I'm sorry about your tooth. I hope you're having fun in Gainesville right now!

The interview went well. They didn't mention anything about the physical, I was so relieved!:confused3 More time to work out! One of the people interviewing me seemed to like the fact that I worked for Disney, so I hope that works to my advantage.

I hope everyone is having a great day! :sunny:

I'm glad your interview went well, Nicole! Maybe the lifting requirement isn't a very important part of the actual job. What is the next step, will you have a second interview?

Ashley, I've always thought Portofino Bay looks really pretty! You'll have to take lots of pictures for us. I'm sorry to hear that you had so much trouble with your tooth. It sounds like taking it out will be the best thing. I had one taken out that was in the back on the bottom and I don't miss it a bit, it was actually very easy. Of course I'm a big chicken so I paid the extra to be knocked totally out for it, but it didn't hurt much later either. It's just too bad that you already sunk so much time & money into fixing the tooth, only to have it taken out anyway. As long as you feel better, that's the important thing right?

I can't believe the news that Michael Jackson died. People are saying they'll always remember where they were when they heard... well I saw it on Nicole's fb post! So Nicole, I'll always think of you whenever I hear a MJ song. I said something about it and Lyzzie said, "Oh that, yeah I knew that." What?! Apparently one of her classmates told her at the pool this afternoon. They didn't really care because he was "that weird really old guy whose songs they sing on American Idol."

I got a call from the temp agency today, it was a different agent who I've never spoken with before, offering me a job that starts on Monday. The only problem is that I missed the call and she said it was important that she find out before the end of the day... I got the message about 10 minutes after the office closed. I left a message anyway and will try back again in the morning, I hope it wasn't too late. I don't know anything about the assignment but anything is better than nothing right now, I've been going crazy with all these days with nothing to do.

My parents are getting back from Egypt this weekend. They will fly into New York on Saturday and then come home on Sunday. Emma says she doesn't want them to ever come home. She is such a stinker!
