The only thing stopping me from booking Free Dining is...

We were there last year from s/30-Columbus day. It wasn't all that hot that week. They had a snap Tropical Storm develop about 50 miles off the coast. Really wierd for one to just develop so close from nothing but it did. but it went up North instead of smacking us. But it kept temperatures down and the skys a bit overcast most of the week. It rained a couple days, but other than that it didn't. The Sunday of Columbus weekend was a scorcher. I understand the next week was too.

The Crowds weren't all that bad that first week until about Friday of Columbus Day Weekend. Then they picked up considerably.

There's always the risk of a Hurricane though. You takes your chances.

we always go at this time of year and last Sept/Oct was the hottest I've experienced and the humidity was tricky to begin with.

I am really pleased for everyone who bags the free dining, but inside I am crying, this will mean more lines, busier parks and virtually no room for movement on our 21 day itinerary. we had just over half our dining plans set and hoped that we could wing it for the rest and just book the night before, now this is going to be virtually impossible. but because we are staying so long I don't want a commando tactic approach to our trip as this stresses me beyond belief ... ahhh well ..... enjoy what ever you decide to do.

Now I happen to LIKE hot and humid (I am a freak, I know! :)) but the last two years I have gone in Sept., I found it to be very nice weather wise. In fact, I just asked my bf for his opinion and he said it wasn't hot and humid at all for our trip last year. We had lots of sunshine and only 1 hour of rain during our whole trip. My hair didn't even get frizzy. :teeth: If you really want to take advantage of free dining, I say book a trip. If it does get too humid, you can plan a lot of time either in the pool or in the water parks.

Well, if you're a Freak, than I am too. We went in late August in 2001 & 2005. It's one of my favorite times to go. Love, Love, Love being able to go to the water parks & not freeze between slides. Love the lower crowds. I would be there for free dining in a heartbeat if I hadn't already spent all my vacation money on this trip coming up & our upcoming trip to Italy.

My DH, on the other hand, wouldn't be able to tolerate it, free dining or not. He's been with us in Late Sept/early Oct and in August once & he'll never go back in summer again. Even with common sense re. heat, he just can't tolerate it. Some folks can't. I think you have to be very realistic about how much heat you can handle.
