The only one on a ride

During an evening EMH at MK a few years ago, the park was open till 2 am on a February night. It was cold, and the place was deserted. We rode PP over and over with no one else in sight, and we were the only people in IASW. That was simultaneously cool and creepy. Ended the night riding the carousel right at 2 am with a couple of other people and a ton of characters. We've been to Disney many, many times, and that's still my favorite park memory.

My husband and I have experienced people mover, Splash Mountain, IASW and Living with the Land all alone. We enjoyed all the private rides and felt like VIPs. We also went to a MNSSHP in 2014 when it poured the last 3 hours of the party. We decided we would transform our 40 year old selves into 8 year olds and enjoy splashing through puddles. We went around to all of the candy stations multiple times and never saw another soul in line.

Splash about five times in a row during an E-Ride Night, with just two teens I encountered walking through the queue
The Safari one morning during a DISMeet with j u st a couple from my resort
The Safari entirely alone, last trip of the day, Right after a storm
Dueling Dragons at Universal first thing on a misty February morning when the friends I was meeting didn't show and nobody was on st side of the park

One night in August a couple years back we were the only two on a PoTC boat and they sent us through the ride. It was different and nice to be the only ones!

Not very often. BTMR at the end of a MNSSHP. Figment late night at EP.

We've also been the very last ride on Space mountain before they closed it for the night. All the other cars had gone through so it was just us 5 in line. The ride was shockingly quiet without all the other cars on it. It was a much different experience. Surreal.:goodvibes:goodvibes

About 13 years ago my husband and I were the only ones on our boat in Pirates late one night. No one in boats behind us at all, and no one in the boats immediately ahead of us. As we were pulling into the final scene we saw two teenagers up by the jail area and saw them steal the keys from the dog's mouth! They jumped onto a boat a few boats ahead of us (all were empty) and unloaded before we got there. As soon as we pulled in to unload we alerted the CMs and one came running with us to find the kids. By the time we got to the gift shop they were long gone. We can't go on that ride anymore without thinking of that night, and I always make sure the dog has the keys in its mouth!

One day Big Thunder broke down and we were waiting at the disabled entrance and did not realise. It came back up and we were the first to ride it on our own whilst the lines reformed we could not believe it that the place was empty! It was really spooky as we did not know lol. We had a return time. It was like being in a school at night. Felt really naughy!

In Nov, we were the only ones on Figment. Happened also on small world.

Yes, DH and I have been the only ones on several rides
Pooh
Small world
Pirates
Donald's
Splash
Only one in view on Big thunder

On a solo trip over Labor Day weekend 2 years ago, I had a log to myself on Splash Mountain... and was able to stay in the log for 3 straight rides. This was at the tail end of a MNSSHP. (I've had logs to myself or just with my nieces a number of times for just 1 ride)

Same trip, I had an elevator to myself on ToT in the middle of the day. That was sheer random luck/timing, as everyone in front of me exiting the library turned right and I went left. That was almost creepy.

Last time we were at WDW we stayed for the evening EMH which went on until 2am. My daughter and I rode Splash Mountain 7 times in a row with the last 4 being the only ones on the ride! It was cool but I will say it was a little creepy going through the ride as the only ones. And my daughter kept saying things like "anyone could be hiding here mom - waiting...". But I wasn't creeped enough to not keep going on! Every time we got to the ride's end - the cast member would say "one more?" and he would wave for us to stay seated and continue on! It was a great night as that is our very favorite ride! I LOVE the late night EMH - we are not morning people at all!

Late night EMH in MK about 6 years ago (forget if it was open until 1 am or 2 am) in mid-May. DD18 and I were the only ones on the Carousel. Repeatedly. It was fun because we each got to ride Cindy's horse, but also a little odd. DH and I have also had Pooh to ourselves - no one in sight and no one in the queue - during the final hour of a late night EMH.

We've ridden Peoplemover and Pooh without anyone in sight.

The most fun was a rainy day when we were the only people on Mission Space. We totally hammed it up in the pre-show and on the ride. I have a great picture of DD and Gary Sinese!

About 2 weeks before Maelstrom closed, I had a fastpass for it. When I got there, standby showed 5 minutes, so I saved my fastpass for later. There was nobody in line, and they put me in the last row of the boat. Nobody else came until my boat just started to move, so I had the boat to myself.
When I got off, standby was up to 30 minutes, so I got into fastpass line. This time they put me in the front of a boat (full), and we had gone forward about 10'feet when the ride broke. I got a paper fastpass, but never had a chance to ride again. It made for a memorable farewell to a wonderful ride.

have you ever been the only one on a ride? How often has it happened? Did you have fun? Share your deserted ride experience here!

Last week of August last year my family and I were at MK. Around 6pm it started thunder storming pretty bad. We were waiting for our reservations for the Plaza so we didn't mind. We had a long wait for our food so we weren't done until 7:30. The thunder had stopped but it was still pouring so me my wife and our daughter donned our ponchos and braved the weather. We rode a lot of rides and waited in little to no lines, but there were still people. At 10 they made an announcement that wishes wasn't going to happen and everyone left. We went to dumbo and no one was riding or in line. We rode 3 straight times without getting out and still we were the only ones. By this time it was only a light sprinkle so we didn't mind. I then went on the barnstormer 5 times in a row, switching seats each time but not having to get back in line, still no other people. We then did Buzz 3 times with still no one and finished off the night with 3 times on Aladdins carpet ride.
I think at this point there were no families left and that's why we got to ride all the family rides. There were people in the park, hardly any, but mostly younger going on 7 dwarves or space mountain.
We had a blast and still love talking about that night and sharing with others, especially when someone tells us about waiting 2 hours to go on Dumbo,

On our honeymoon, we got to ride Maelstrom & Grand Fiesta multiple time by ourselves during nighttime EMH-we loved having it all to ourselves!

DD and I rode Dumbo alone one time.
The CM miscounted the guest to elephant ratio, and that left me and DD without the ability to board.
So we got the last ride of the night to ourselves. It was pretty neat!

Years ago, the DIS had a private, after hours party at DHS. I was there, with a lot of friends, including my former co-moderator, who was working at DHS at that time...behind the scenes. We were riding TSM, with a few others. It was close to the end of the party, so pretty soon we were the only ones riding. He hopped off, but for some reason, my bar didn't raise. He motioned to the operator to just run me thru again...happened three times! Just me, all alone in TSM! It was really creepy...and my 'friend' just stood there, howling with laughter, as I went round and round. I've never complained about having to wait since then!!!

During the Finals of the Euro 16, Disneyland Paris was deserted and I got a private boat on Pirates. The only time I felt the need to buy the ride picture :)

Awesome awesome photo!

Last Summer on an EMH night till 2AM at MK. We met Ariel all by ourselves and stayed a really long time chatting away, we were the only ones to see her. We also rode Under the Sea by ourselves, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, all a few times. The people who were there late were focused on the mountains and SDMT so the rest of Fantasyland was a breeze for us! Its actually is a tradition for us to stay till closing at least one MK night and we usually have similar experiences :)
