Thursday 19 August

Once again we had breakfast in the Manhattan and today.....was lovely and sunny. How nice to set out for the Parks unencumbered by coats and ponchos.

We got to EMH and started off with 2 rides on Buzz, where H got a 600,000+ score. Dtr & H had 2 goes on Sapce Mountain while I took some Discoveryland photos in sunlight – at long last.

We went into Fantasyland and sat down to watch the world go by – we had reached that point in the week where we like to do prolonged people watching, having already had a good few days of doing all our favourite rides.

We were sitting next to Snow White which they opened at 9.45, so Dtr & I went on then all of us queued up next to POTC for rope drop. We were on and off this quite quickly so in a repeat of yesterday, the other 2 went to Indiana Jones while I went to get FPs for BTM, taking a few more photos. I know some people complain about the state of the ship, but I feel it is authentic to have a battered and faded pirate ship!

Next we walked through Agrabah Bazaar

and back into Fantasyland to wait for the 11am rope drop so we could ride Casey Jr.

We didn’t go on La Pay de Doo Dah afterwards as it was already a bit ‘queuey’ so we went on IASW instead. After this it was time to go back to BTM with our fastpasses – very little queue here.

It was still before mid-day and we had been on Buzz (X2), Space Mountain (X2), Snow White, POTC, Indiana, Casey Jr, IASW and BTM as well as having had a relaxing sit in the sun. For those people who worry that high season is a complete waste of time I would say that it IS possible to get lots done, but you have to do it in chunks – most in the morning, relax in the afternoon and then back for late night in the Park – anyway that’s what works for us.
We decided to go to the Studios so we left via Liberty Arcade, having a look at the tableau on the way out.

The Studios had queues EVERYWHERE – to buy tickets, to get in, rides, shops, everywhere.

We were glad we had only gone over for a nosey and not intending to ride anything. The queue times for TSPL were 60, 80 and 90 minutes.

Lots of people took pictures of Buzz at the entrance to TSPL.

We hadn't noticed the huge ON/OFF switch on the side of RC Racer before now.

This wall was lovely and cool to lean against.

We had a quick look in the shops and then left, walking back through the Village to the hotel.

H drove to the Santa Fe garage to fill up the car and buy a few snacks for lunch, then he went down to Starbucks while Dtr and I had a read/snack/relax. At 3 o’clock we all went to the pool and had some time there – Dtr was in the water for 2½ hours and only got out then as we needed to get ready for the evening.

H and I lay around on the loungers and I finished the murder mystery I was reading (it was the accountant who dun it!). It was a very relaxing afternoon, not to mention hot and sunny.

We got dressed and went back towards the Park. It was very busy in Disney Village and there were lots of Police by the station – they arrested and were searching 2 people as we walked past.:scared1:

We carried on to Walts which was very busy, with most tables taken. As ever we had a lovely meal here. H had Serrano ham, duck and New York cheesecake. Dtr had fillet steak and fruit soup while I had the diversity platter and fillet steak. It was all very tasty.

By the time we came back downstairs at 8 o’clock the reception area was packed with people and buggies – lots of families waiting for their tables to be ready.

In fact everywhere seemed to be busy. There was a show taking place in Central Plaza and people were spilling out of Casey’s, sitting all around eating their hotdogs. Unfortunately H was feeling a little uncomfortable after his meal so we took things easy, walking through Frontierland, (bypassing BTM as it had an 80 minute wait) towards the train station. Pocahontas and John Smith were there signing autographs.

100_4209.jpg

After a little rest here we went to look at Indiana Jones but it had a 45 minute wait. Instead we went to Adventure Isle and explored the caves and Skull Rock.

After this we went to FL station and waited for the train. H was still feeling off after his meal so we all got off at Main Street and H went back to the hotel – he wasn’t ill, so don’t be having too much sympathy – he had just eaten so much that he felt too full up and uncomfortable! Despite this, I did offer to go back with him but he said he’d be fine on his own. Dtr and I went through Main Street

to Snow White for a ride and then to Discoveryland to watch Captain Eo again. Dtr bought a poster afterwards for her friend who is a massive MJ fan.

We did a bit of window shopping down Main Street, watched the tail end of Fantillusion and then saw the fireworks and left the Park. When we got back to the hotel we found H was feeling a bit better.

Then it was time for bed.

Yaayyy for the sunshine! The Studios really was packed - never seen it like that before!

Thanks for the picture of Casey Jnr - Lewis has still never been on as it's always closed - so crossing fingers for the next time.

Glad you had a good day - I agree, in all that heat you really need a break, and the HNY pool is the best we've found!

what a great day. i love the pics of walts, makes me hungry all over again lol. seems like you got loads done even though it was busy

What a fantastic photo of the castle & main street!!

I am also drooling over your Walts photos! :cloud9:

Pocohontas & John Smith!!! DD would be soooooo excited to see them!!

Thats a fabulous photo of the Castle at the top of Main St all lit up .
I need to take notes from your trippies for my next one (it includes a weekend ).

Great photos. :goodvibes

I was about to send a  for your DH in the hope he'd feel better tomorrow but as it's a case of over-indulgence I'll take it back!! :rotfl2:

Great last pic - that sky is a fantastic backdrop for the castle. Does seem to have been a busier day for the parks today, but how ice that you had the time to sit back and chill and look at the scenery etc. It is such a beautiful park. :goodvibes

Oh, and by the way, do you realise how long I have just spent looking for Day 6 of your trippie. If only I had thought too check the dates straight away - feel like a right numpty! ;)

Sorry! It was only yesterday that I realised I had numbered them wrong but it is too difficult to correct from my iPhone . I will do it when I'm back home. :rolleyes1
