Tuesday 26 October

The alarm went off at 6 as we had a 7 o’clock breakfast booked. This sounds really foolish now I am back home without a Disney head on, but when we’re there it seems sensible to get up at stupid o’clock. There were hardly any other guests in at breakfast – they obviously have more sense than us. The breakfast was continental with a choice of 3 cereals, croissants, bread (for the toaster) French toast, pain au chocolat, cheese, ham, fruit salad and 3 types of yoghurt. There were also 2 sorts of juice as well as water and hot drinks and jams and spreads.

Filled up with this, we went to wait for the bus. It was a cold morning with everything frosted white and looking very pretty. At the Park the gates were just opening so we made our way down Main Street and towards Discoveryland for 2 goes on Buzz and a trip on Space Mountain for Dtr.

Next, in Fantasyland we went on Peter Pan, Dumbo and the Carousel.

There was Halloween music playing everywhere and we couldn’t help but sing along to Boo to You.......Happy Halloween etc and Dtr does a pretty good impersonation of that cackling laugh that rings out everywhere.

We decided to start the main opening hours in the Studios, getting FPs for TOT then going to queue for rope drop at Toy Story Playland. Lots of people had the same idea! They hold you first at the entrance to the land then walk you through to the different rides. We went towards the parachute drop. Dtr was nagging and nagging at me to have a go – telling me it would be okay and there was no sudden dropping involved. Ha ha. We were on the second ride of the day. I hated it! It wasn’t so much the drop but the swooping stop it made as it reached the top. It just makes my stomach feel so churned and upset. Bleuch. Many apologies to those who were sitting near enough to hear me saying “oh poo, oh poo, oh poo” or words to that effect. :rolleyes1 When I did briefly open my eyes, I noticed how good the view was from up there!

We didn't bother with RC when we saw how long the queue was!

We went from there to RnRC and then for our FP time at TOT. For both of these rides Dtr got called through quickly as they were looking for a single rider.

We went to watch an old favourite next – Cinemagique – that never gets tired and I’m always going “awwww” at the end. After that we saw Stitch Live and then decided to get our sandwiches from the shop at the station and take them back to the hotel. We had a long evening ahead of us.

After a lovely long rest we caught a bus back to the Park. It was as we were going back in that Dtr saw the CM who was signing on BTM the night before. We had to show our MNSSHP tickets to get through the main gates and just inside we were given our wristbands.

We went straight to the Silver Spur where we had a booking and enjoyed a very nice dinner.

Dtr had the Kit Carson platter.

For starters I had the prawn cocktail served in a large tortilla.

For dessert Dtr had carpaccio of pineapple.

Afterwards Dtr popped to the loo to put on her makeup and put in her vampire teeth.

There were definitely a lot more people dressed up this year. Some people had obviously gone to a lot of effort and the atmosphere was great.

It was gone 7 by now and we had to show our wristbands a lot to get through to places.

The upstairs in the Castle was closed off and spooky mist was pouring down the stairs.

We went on POTC which was absolutely deserted – all that awaited us when we got down to the ride were 3 CMs.

The misters were back at Fort Comstock.

The rest of the night passed by in a blur of rides – in order we did IASW, Snow White, Pinocchio, BTM, Phantom Manor, Snow White, Peter Pan, Pinocchio, BTM, Snow White, POTC and IASW.

This looks good, but in actual fact the queue was about 15-20 mins long at this point, the longest of the night.

Interspersed with this was a lot of character interaction. There were pumpkinmen just past the misters as you entered Frontierland – they were in very mischievous moods – they made me jump a few times, suddenly appearing behind me and either ‘boo’ing or making a sudden loud kissing noise in my ear.

Later on the Pink Witches made a reappearance and had a fight with the Pumpkinmen – broomsticks against baseball bats.

Also out and about in Frontierland were Cruella The Wicked Witch (earlier as the Hag and later as the Queen), Donald and Daisy, Frollo, Maleficent, Minnie and a few others I think. Jack and Sally, of course were by Phantom Manor.

Not sure if you can see this - it is a large pumpkin head projected on the side of the shop of the Snow White ride.

In Fantasyland we saw Anastasia, Drizella, Lady Tremaine, Mary Poppins and Bert, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Mulan, Mickey, Alice and the Mad Hatter.
In Adventureland was Captain Jack Sparrow, of course.

We also saw a little bit of both shows that were on. We had just finished on IASW as 11 o’clock came so we made our way down Main Street, Many people were waiting for the cavalcade but Dtr was tired so we headed straight out to the bus-stop.

The later show at Buffalo Bill’s was just coming out and there were lots of people at the bus-stop. Everybody else seemed to be from Ireland and, judging by their matching jackets, they were part of some group. We had no trouble getting a seat on the bus and before too long we were back at the hotel, drinking our cup-a-soup.

Adding a few of our meet'n'greet pictures.

Maleficent said “What HAVE you done to your face?” Is it just me that thinks of Jill Robinson every time they see Maleficent? :rotfl:

Drizella said a loud “EWWWWWW” when she saw Dtr’s face, then turned to me and said “Is she with you?” with a look of pity on her face.
