The one "do" a day rule? (Not doo!?!)

When I worked in an accounting office, I did, as I do now, have medium length hair that I can put up in a ponytail. Often I would arrive at work with my hair fixed in the normal fashion, but, somewhere along the way, it would begin to bother me for one reason or another and I would put it up. Either a ponytail or hair clip, depending on what I have available. I was told by my coworkers that I was breaking the "one 'doo' (meaning hairdo) a day rule". :scared1:

I have never been much of a girlie girl! But I am starting a new job in the fall and want to fit in. Is this really a big deal? I am being serious, sort of, I just wanted to get some feedback. Is there a one doo a day rule?

never heard of the do a day rule. I totally thought this thread was about another kind of doo (doo).... :confused3 :teeth:

I have never heard of this rule. If your hair is bothering you - by all means do something with it. As long as you aren't going for an "evening up-do" at noon.

I think your co-workers need to find some work to do.

Same here! I thought she was saying that there was a rule in her office where everyone only goes to the bathroom once a day :rotfl:

Let me preface this by saying I am a guy, so the 1 "Do" a day will always apply to me....

But, I will say this....if anyone in an office complains about a woman changing hairstyles during the day, I think they have issues......whether it be jealousy or whatever. If someone changing the way their hair looks in the course of the day bothers someone........I really don't know what to think.

I used to have a female boss who had really long hair. She would, throughout the day go from down, to a pony-tail, tied-up, back down, back to the pony-tail.

I personally see nothing wrong with it.

I also thought it was a bathroom thread. :rotfl: OP, you may want to change your title to read "do" as in "hairdo", not "doo". :lmao:

As far as the "do" rule, I've never heard of it and would ignore your co-worker.

That's crazy! I start almost every day with my hair down and by two or so it's driving me nuts and I pull it back. My co-worker is the exact opposite...she pulls her hair up in the morning when it's wet, then takes it out around noon when it's dry (lucky her, she has curly hair...so when she lets it down it's all curly and pretty...brat!). The two of us would drive your office mates wild!!!!!!

Come work with us, you'll have more fun! :teeth:

For what it's worth - I think being "regular" is very good. :teeth:

I have never heard of that dumb rule...you could wear a bone in your hair for all I care. Whatever makes you comfy :thumbsup2 :teeth: Although I wouldn't recommend the bone in the hair thing at your new job ;)

I do the same thing with my hair! Sometime during the day, its starts to bother me, so I pull it back. I would ignore your co-workers. They need to get a life!

I've never heard of it either. I have long hair and usually start the day with it down. I usually put it in a ponytail or something throughout the course of the day. I hate having hair in my face.

Your co-workers would hate me. I'll change my hair 3 times in an hour. Starts down, then its bugging so it goes in a clip, then the clip is bugging me so it goes in a ponytail, then I'll want it down again, or in a clip again. As long as you aren't going in the bathroom, washing your hair, drying your hair and full on styling it they need to get a life.

I have never heard of that rule. When I worked, my hair would often look different at the end of the day than it did at the start of the day. You're not breaking any rules! ;)

Apparently I've been breaking that rule for a long time...well, until this past weekend when I got it cut so it's pretty much the same all day and not driving me nuts. I think your co-worker is a bit anal.

Another one who has never heard of this rule and thought the thread was about something else. Had a former boss that when she was in a bad mood the hair would go up and we would steer clear of her office.

IMHO, two doos a day is perfectly OK! I've often done two doos a day. :)

The sad thing is we were all interested in a potty thread.

Tell your co -worker you asked 90,000 of your Diz pals & no one has heard about the 1 doo a day rule. I think she made it up to make a point.

I think I'd ask my HR rep if there actually was such a "rule". IMHO unless someone was in the ladies room spending time styling their hair, it's a ridiculous rule. It take 10 seconds sitting at your desk to pull your hair back into a scrunchy.
