The one "do" a day rule? (Not doo!?!)

I think I'd ask my HR rep if there actually was such a "rule". IMHO unless someone was in the ladies room spending time styling their hair, it's a ridiculous rule. It take 10 seconds sitting at your desk to pull your hair back into a scrunchy.

Unless you're on a break you're stealing company time! ;)

I'm just guessing here but I doubt that the OP meant it was an actual rule....just more or less a joking kind of rule among the employees....yes? :thumbsup2

You guys were cracking me up with the bathroom references! I didn't think of that. I was referring to an "unwritten" rule. Like never wear white shoes after Labor Day or something like that. I just don't want to be the oddball so I wanted to get some others to ring in.

I thought this was ridiculous too. I am sometimes the oddball because I am an serious NERD or nerdette or whatever. Thanks for the responses. I think maybe that the coworker in question just doesn't like me very much. I really don't mind being a nerd. :teeth:

Um, I think it sounds like a good thing you are getting a new job.

That is crazy. Who really cares about how many hair "dos" a person has. This job wasn't in a high school was it? (maybe middle school.) Then again my 5 year old changes her cothes and hair 6 times a day if I let her. :rotfl:

Maybe you should confront them with a "rule" along the lines of 'no skirts on Wednesday' or 'only one piece of jewelry above your neck'. That'll show 'em. HA :lmao:

Anne

The coworker probably just meant it as a joke.

I think someone is pulling your leg...

I say go into work and change your hair at least 7 times to drive them (her) crazy... :lmao:

Well, since she mentioned it several times, I don't think it was a joke. She explained that I should fix my hair one way and then leave it alone and quit changing it all the time. Other people were around and didn't contradict anything that she said. I just figured it was her way of getting a dig at me. But I want to make sure I am right. So far with this thread, I think it is silly for someone to comment on this type of thing. I certainly wouldn't care about someone else's hair. If I put my hair up, she would say, "Did you change your "do" again? One do a day Tammy! One do a day!"

I saw a thread about second baby showers for people who had previous showers and how tacky it was. I was totally unaware that this was tacky! I am often unaware of unwritten rules and wanted to make a good impression at my new job. My DH says I have no common sense (although I am what he calls "book smart").

OP, you go "do" what you want to "do"!!! If your job is fine in the way you perform it, I say "do" it!!! :thumbsup2

Is this chick above you in some way, like management or something? If she isn't and keeps this up, I'd say something like, "Does me putting my hair up in a clip a few times a day hindering your work, or making life not worth living anymore? If not, would you please let it go?!" or something.

Well, since you seem to think that the comment was NOT a joke, then I am in total agreement with Anne, ask your Human Resource Manager. Once you have been told something "official," you will know better how to respond to these people who seem to have nothing better to concern themselves about.

Yeah, what she said.

I have decided to not sweat it. I just didn't want to be a dork at my new job. I am thoroughly convinced that putting up my hair is okay and I should never worry about it again! Thanks Dissers! :sunny:
