Ok, so here's the deal...My best friend/cousin and her husband are house parents for a children's home. They both turn 50 within this year, so my DH said let's surprise them and take them to WDW during free dining. (DH is nice, but cheap) So after dozens of calls to their kids, their bosses, and WDW, settled on a date, booked POP, and got a great disney deal on flights. Booked it, and got ALL the ADR's I wanted. (Even the much coveted LeCellier:)

Last night the DIL called me all in a panic that we should not go in Sept. because of several other things going on. I do not disagree but ARUGHHHHH!!!! So now I call the director of the children's home to request a different date, and try to pick a time that will work in August instead of my preferred Sept. Tonight I will call WDW and try to change dates, ADR's and "shudder" think about calling the airline to see what hideous penalty fee there will be to change the airline tickets. Did I mention this is all a secret? And who do I usually call with hair raising problems like this?!? Of course, the people I'm trying to surprise!!!

Hoping for some DIS magic!!

hey! don't worry! like everyone said to me when I was freaking out for b-day adrs, just remember that you're (or in this case, they're) there to enjoy themselves and each other and a much needed break! No matter what you eat (as long as there's no allergic reactions or food poisoning), you'll have great experiences and memories. Hope for the best when trying to reschedule! You know how we DISers are constantly changing things like this! Maybe you'll catch some cancellations and remember to try the off-times for spots (like, lunch at 3pm and such). I'm sure everything you're doing will be incredibley appreciated and you'll feel great! Good luck with everything!

first of all, kudos to your friends/cousin for the wonderful job they are doing... it's not easy being house parents and quite admirable :)

secondly, what a marvelous gesture/gift taking them to wdw... they deserve it and you're awesome for making it happen...

about the rest... it's all little stuff, don't sweat it! ENJOY :flower:

what a great surprise! How nice of your dh to suggest it! Oh, but as the planner of the family, I feel your pain.

Here's a little encouragement for you. I just called today for a couple ADR's for our trip in 12 days, and was able to get them with a few minutes of the times I was looking for.

I hope you have a great trip!
