I got to make sure my car is already to go when I leave in a couple of weeks.

I can't wait to hear what kiosks you and Fran are going to try during your visit.

What kind of special events during the F&W Festival the two of you are thinking of trying? After looking at the special events, I really want to try the Kitchen Memories with Chef Robert Irvine which is my favorite chef on the Food Network. His date is on the 26th.

I talked to my relatives today and they are going to WDW in October 26th to November 2nd this year. They asked me if I want to go and looks like I will be going. I am so excited to go to WDW during the Halloween season and during the F&W Festival which I was looking forward too.

Bret - I read about your trip last night, meant to say something and then forgot to comment! (Hangs head in shame and will head back to Old Fogie status)

How exciting to be able to go to WDW during Halloween....exciting but I expect it will be busy.
Are you planning on upgrading to one of those premium APs - the ones that let you in to both DLR and WDW?

If so.......I know you don't need any reminder but if when you upgrade, you have the option to covert to a full year (rather than just paying for the rest of your existing year), you will already have your park tickets for early October 2013....:scratchin

I'm working on that update right now. If you want to see Robert Irvine you need to be on the phone at 3:58AM dialing madly over and over until you get through. He and Buddy Velasco will sell out within about 20 minutes, they did last year.

Which one are you seeing Alison? I like Robert Irvine.

The person doing Kitchen Memories when I'm there is Emily Ellyn Hummel. I googled her name and :confused3 I think she's a chef at WDW. I'm not particularly interested in dropping a couple hundred bucks on someone who doesn't even come up in Google!

No problem PiO.

It was exciting last night to hear that my relatives are interested in going to Florida. I was surprise to hear that they want to go during the F&W Festival which is something they are very interested in. It was a month ago when I talked to them about WDW and the F&W Festival. They are my grandparents that want to see WDW while they are still mobile. My uncle had hip surgery a few years ago and is still able to walk with no problem. They will have problems walking all day at the parks so there is an option of having a wheelchair just in case if they can't walk a whole day. It is exciting to go to WDW during the Halloween season since I have only seen the DLR during the Halloween season the last two years. I have heard that the Halloween season at WDW is nice and it would be interesting to compare both WDW and the DLR during the Halloween season.

I looked on Touringplans crowd level during our visit and it is about 5/10 on average for all the days we are there in Florida. Saturday of course is the heaviest while the others are 5/10 or 2/10. I am hoping that it won't be that crowded, but I am always prepare for any crowds on any days.

This is the trickiest of upgrading to the Premier AP. I did have the Premier AP for DL & WDW the last two years since I was going to WDW. I did have to pay full price for the Premier the last two times. This time when I renewed my DL Premium AP I only had to pay $479 for the renewal before the price increase went to $649. If I do upgrade to the Premier AP, I have to pay about another $400+ to get the Premier. That is a lot of money just to upgrade to the Premier with a Premium. I didn't think I was going back to WDW this year after everything has been going on with my families. But they decided at the last second that they wanted to go and now I am in a awkward situation if I should upgrade to the Premier and pay over $400 or go with MYW PH tickets. I am leaning towards upgrading to the Premier since parking will be helpful and the merchandise discount since we are not staying onsite. They haven't decided where to stay, I suggest to them that I use my RCI points and stay at the Sheraton Vistana Resort like the last two times I have stayed. I also have the TiW card that I bought last year when I went to the Holiday season and is good until January 2013. So I don't have to worry about the restaurants. The parking, food and merchandise discount will come into play if I do get the Premier.

I was planning on upgrading my DL Premium AP to the Premier at the Guest Relations at the DLR when I go in a couple of weeks since I won't have to upgrade the AP at WDW. This is the part of when I should upgrade to the Premier at the DLR. I was thinking of upgrading on the last day of my DL trip in a few weeks instead of upgrading on the first two days of the trip. Last time when I upgraded to the Premier from my Premium AP at DL in 2010, I was denied to get a FP for the rides and WoC showpass. I would assume that all the kinks have been worked out since then. I'm just hoping that I won't go through a repeat process back in 2010.

How does the upgrade option to covert to a full year works PiO. I did ask a similar question when the Premier started in 2010 and told me that if I do upgrade to the Premier AP from the Premium, the expiration date will be the same as the original date of the Premium AP. I am getting confuse about this. :confused3

It said that it would start at 10am to 12pm so that is out of the question. Do you know how many people they take in for these events? After I saw Buddy Valastro name on the list, I was shocked to hear that the star of "Cake Boss" was going to be at the F&W Festival.

Well if you think that is a shock, Mr. cake boss was up at harvey's last year in Lake Tahoe.

Buddy has been doing it for quite some time now, at least the last three years. I met Robert Irvine, well shook his hand and took a picture at the DL F&W. He was so nice, we didn't get there in time to do his demo, but we were on the perimeter of the demo area. He came out and shook hands and took picture with all of us who weren't getting in. It was very sweet.

Maybe I was just too exciting to see that Buddy was going to be at the F&W Festival. That was neat that he was at Harvey Casino.

Okay. I just didn't look at the past years at the F&W Festival. That was neat that you got to meet Robert at the F&W at DCA. I did remember that he was at DCA F&W a few years ago. He is tense on his shows Dinner Impossible & Restaurant Impossible where I watch all the time on the food network or online, but he is a tough chef and a great guy.

Home again..but I have less than 4 hours to put a dinner together for tonight. So, I'll probably be in and out a fair bit.

Bret - I don't know how it works. I just wondered if you were given the option to "restart the clock" with the Premium AP or if you just paid the pro-rata balance for the upgrade difference on your existing DLR AP. If it is the pro-rata balance, then your end date will be the same as your current end date of the AP. If you have the option for a "restart the clock", it probably will be more money...but it does push you into the October 2013 period, if you were thinking of joining us for the DisMeet.

Gotta run to the kitchen.

From where I am sitting? Less than 10 steps.

I've just scoffed down lunch; so I'm going to be pretty much chained to the kitchen for the rest of the afternoon....at least the next 2 - 3 hours.

Happy belated birthday to PIO's DS.:bday:

Bret - I love going to WDW the end of Oct/first of Nov, the humidity usually isn't too bad and we love going to the MNSSHP too. You'll have a great time.

I finally got to leave the hospital around 4PM yesterday. It was nice to get to sleep in my own bed and not have someone come in every hour or an IV machine beeping. Pain meds have me a little sleepy, but other than that I'm doing great. I'm a lightweight when it comes to pain meds so it doesn't take much to knock me out so I had a nice little nap this afternoon.

Wow! What are you making? Will we hear about it on the WFD thread?

I know what you mean. In the last seven years, I have been in so many hospitals. I have never stayed overnight in one in my life, but I have been to so many it's nuts. All the beeping, the coming in to change this, poke that, it's crazy. Glad you are home and in your own comfy bed! :thumbsup2

Good you keep right on resting. That is the best healing there is. We will know when you are out of it. :thumbsup2

The person in the bed next to me didn't have the same nurse as I did so the checks weren't on the same schedule. Nuts!

I was worried before the surgery I wouldn't be able to get in and out of our waterbed (yes were the last of the dinosaurs) I get in just fine and need a little help getting out last night. We'll see if I can do both on my own tonight.:rotfl2:
