This kind of fits: I once tried to travel through airports with my driver's license 2 days expired. I almost didn't get to fly out of my home airport, and I got the "special treatment" by airport security at each leg of the trip.

I forgot my makeup on our honeymoon which was the land and sea pkg. I went all over WDW looking for any kind of makeup. I even went into the France Pavilion and asked the CM if they had any samples because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford anything in that store. I did have lipstick in my purse, so I was able to use it as blush and lipstick for the trip. When we docked in Nassau on the cruise, I found a store that sold Clinique and other makeup, so I stocked up. Thankfully I didn't scare DH too much with my au natural look!

The first year we went I forgot my DS whole suitcase. I realized right after my mother dropped us off at the airport. Didn't have enough time to go home and get. So we spent our first day running around looking for cloths for him. Michelle

Your DS must have thought "SWEET!!! All new clothes and WDW clothes to boot."

I know my DD5 would wish we would forget her suitcase. She would love all new WDW clothes. Heck, she would get a princess dress and wear that all week if she could.

If I could offer anyone one piece of advice it would be this:

DO NOT pack kids clothes in one bit of luggage, Mom and Dad's in another etc.

SPLIT clothes and belongings between all luggage items so that everyone has at least 2 days worth of clothing in each.

That way, if some of your luggage gets lost, everyone has something to wear.

This has helped us out when our luggage has gotten lost by the airline.

...OK so that's not really FORGETTING.

The only thing we *always* forget is the socks. Never remember the darn socks!

I forgot the camcorder in the hotel room one year. It was our kids first trip and we didnt want to miss a thing. My DH said he'd go back to get it, but not to go anywhere because he wanted to see the expression on the kids face as we walked through the park. Well it was 99 degrees that day and we waited right inside the MK for awhile, but then wandered into the shops on Main Street and lost track of time.
This was before we both had cell phones and I realized I lost my DH somewhere in the world. I went back to stand at the gates and after 2 hours(start to finish), we finally hooked back up. Not exactly the picture perfect, magical day you imagine when you take your kids to the MK for the first time!

To the folks who forgot Birth Control pills - why not use condoms instead during the vacation?

I'm still working on what an interesting place that is to keep one's birth control pills.

MY husband forgot to charge the cam corder battery and missed a once in a lifetime disney moment between my baby and Princess Aurora. Needless to say he is no longer in charge of the camcorder or camera!!! He doesn't live this down!!!


MY mom also made a doozy of a mistake. I was around 6 and we were staying off property. When you are a kid it seems like forever to get somewhere, especially MK. My dad parked the car and we just about got out when my mom said that she forgot the passes. I wanted to hurt her!!! We had to turn around and go back. We bring my mom on trips with us now and we make sure to always ask her before we leave the resort if she has the tickets.
It probably took about a half hour to go back to the hotel and then back to MK, but man did it seem like forever!!!

One time I forgot our toiletries bag. No toothbrushes, deodorant, make up, hair gel, etc... We found a Wal-Mart and bought all new stuff.

I have a very mild one with a magical ending. On our last trip we had 4 days land/3days sea. My dd left her jacket in our room at the Poly. We realized it on our way to Port Canaveral, we called the Poly and they told us they'd send someone to see if it was in the room. They said they would ship it to our home address if they found it. That settled, we turned our minds back to our upcoming cruise. We walked into our stateroom and there, lying on the bed, was DD's jacket. Just Magical!

In 2000 my DH got fast passes for our family while I waited with the kids. He came back and gave the tickets to me and there was one missing. Somehow he lost that last ticket. It was a 8 day Stars and Stripes Length of Stay ticket from Shades of Green. We probably had 5 days left. We were at MK (Splash Mtn - Fast Pass Machine). I went to City Hall and since I purchased it at Shades of green no one could help me. We finished the day out at MK and the whole day I was sick to my stomach. When I got back to the ASmov that night I went to the front desk and got a manager to help me. After much pleading (and tears) the manager printed a special pass for the rest of our stay for that one ticket (It may have even been one of the child tickets). The thought of spending a few hundred dollars more for a 5 day pass was not something I wanted to do. Luckily it worked out (as it usually does at Disney).

We laugh about it now and really try hard to count tickets at the fast pass machines. We count them again now prior to me putting them back in my bag. Now we buy Annual passes, so once we turn them in for the actual tickets it probably wouldn't be too hard to get new ones.

we forgot the video camera charger last summer. the year we really needed it bc of all the new anniversary happenings. the GF staff let us go thru all the lost and found ones but none of the would fit our camera. how nice was that. my dad eventually went out and got one for us bc we were sooo upset.

then just a few weeks ago i handed my mom my card case which has every card known to makekind including some credit cards i keep as a just in case. i had my main 3 card and liscense on me. i handed her the case at dinner on thursday. saturday when packing i asked is she had and she said no. i wanted to kill her.when we got back to jersey it was nowhere in sight. i emailed the GF and a few hours later i was verifying what it was and it was fed-exed to me in a day. no charge!

Don't tell Dh, but I have been known to "forget" to back enough tees, so if it rains or turns cold, I "must" by and emergency shirt.

I have more Disney shirts than should be legally allowed to own.

I have forgotten our resort mugs and haven't always remembered the kids' goggles, swimming trunks....mostly pool stuff.

I'm good as long as I don't forget my makeup bag or they don't lose it before they bring it up to the room.

anyhow I went to the emergency clinic and the doc wouldnt give me pain killers because I was still nursing my 1 year old

so around 3 am I needed some sleep and my DH generously offered to help me with some endorphin induced pain killers. It never occured to me in these moments to take a hike to the gift shop for some condoms

sounds like a fantastic idea in hindsight!

I'm working from home today and during lunch was just scanning what was on tv. I came across "Home Alone" and it got me thinking.

Has anyone ever forgotten anything major while at WDW? Like arriving to the parks or your hotel and forgetting park passes or AP. Or arriving to your resort, unpacking and realizing you forgot to pack underwear. Or the ultimate, getting all excited in the park after a certain ride or something and forgetting little johnny in his stroller staring at Dumbo.

Fortunately, I haven't forgotten anything major yet, but I always have the feeling I am forgetting something.

Let's hear those funny stories (funny to us of course) of when our minds took a little vacation from us and we forgot......(fill in the blank).

Oh, my gosh! I literally have very vivid nightmares every few weeks of getting to WDW and realizing I forgot my AP. And the night before we leave, one reason I have trouble sleeping is that I keep jumping up to double or triple check that an item I thought of is, indeed, in our luggage. Actually, the worst thing I've ever forgotten was my face cream. However, I did leave some very necessary prescription medication back at the hotel one time. DH and I were in a hurry to get to the MK to see the 3:00 parade. I totally forgot my medication that I was supposed to take at 2:30. Once we got to the MK and I realized, we had to take the bus back to get the medication and we missed the parade anyways.

While planning my solo trip, I decided to use a two day park hopper I had left from a trip several years before in order to save some money. I had kept this ticket in my girlhood diary for close to ten years so that I wouldn't lose it and, as the trip grew closer, in my jewelry case so that I saw it everday and wouldn't forget. Morning of the trip, I pack all the last minute items, put on my jewelry, see that the ticket is there, grab my sweater and purse and hurry down to the cab. It wasn't until I was at the airport, 30 minutes and $15.00 away from home, that I realized I hadn't taken the ticket from the jewelry case and actually put it in my wallet. Sigh. I called home and my aunt offered to FedEx it either to the resort or to my aunt who lives in Orlando. It just seemed like too much trouble and I ended up buying a 3 day park hopper for $180. I still have the ticket although it is back in my girlhood diary as a momento.

On our first trip to WDW last September (which I had planned for 2 months) we arrived in Orlando having had a great flight from London and DH was waiting for our luggage to come out and asked me to go get one of the carts - well, they cost $3 I think and I needed to swipe a card, so I opened up my bag and realised I had left EVERY SINGLE CREDIT CARD AND BANK CARD AT HOME!!!

I just forgot to transfer them from my purse to my 'handy' Disney/park bag

I nearly threw up, I just felt so sick, we were panicking as we only had around $1000 in cash and most of that was for the villa!

Thank heavens for Western Union and my generous sister who sent lots of money!

We all laugh about it now but it is pretty embarrassing, doesn't make me look to clever

And we husbands always get a bad rap. Here Oceana's husband woke up at 3am just so that he could help his wife try and get some sleep and forget about the pain for a little bit. That is what you call thinking of others before yourself. I applaud your husband Oceana. What a humanitarian.
