Glynis--Could you post your recipe for the pumpkin scones??? I'm always up for a new scone recipe, and those sound delish! :goodvibes

Sure. Be warned, though, I haven't tried the pumpkin scones. It's a new recipe, and I'm always willing for my kids to be the guinea pigs. Do you want the peanut butter and banana one, too? I'll post both!

Pumpkin Ginger Scones

2 C. flour
7 Tbs + 1 tsp. sugar, divided
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. gaking soda
5 Tbs. cold butter, divided
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 C. canned pumpkin
1/4 C. sour cream

In a large bowl, combine the flour, 7 Tbs. sugar, baking powder, spices and baking soda. Cut in 4 Tbs. butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the egg, pumpkin and sour cream; stir in crumb mixture just until moistened. Turn onto a floured surface; knead 10 times. Pat into an 8 inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges. Separate wedges and place on a greased baking sheet. Melt remaining butter; brush over dough. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Yield: 8 scones.

Peanut Butter and Banana Scones
Family Fun Magazine

3 C. flour
1/2 C. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 C. peanut butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 C. +2 Tbs. half and half cream
1 C. chopped banana

Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt to evenly incorporate the ingredients. Combine butter, eggs, vanilla, and 3/4 C. of the half and half in a medium bowl. Using an electric mixer, mix the ingredients until evenly blended. Gently stir the peanut butter mixture into the flour mixture just until combined. Then gently stir in the bananas. Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Knead it twice, then gently pat it out so that it is 1 inch thick. Cut out scones using a round biscuit cutter and arrange them on the baking sheet. Spread the remaining half and half on top of the scones with a pastry brush and then bake them for 20 minutes or until the bottoms are slightly golden. Cool the scones on a wire rack, then serve them plain or with jam. Makes 20 scones.

Tonight we are having baked BBQ chicken, teriyaki noodles, and corn. Easy but yummy dinner :)

WFD at your house?

Glynis--Thanks for the recipes! I can't wait to try them--now if I could just find a free moment to bake!

It's pizza night here!!! Dh flies back in around 6 tonight and then off to our fav. pizza place for dinner. TGIF everyone! :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:

Dh and I will be havaing pizza tonight.

Boneless NY Strip steaks, baked potatoes, and peas. I'm really in the mood to go out though. DS doesn't have school today so I think we're going to go out to lunch and then see a movie. Since we're going to be at the mall anyway, I'll have to stop at my favorite store - Yankee Candle.

It's Shabbos and I will probably make some Apricot Chicken, yellow Rice,Challah and some sort of veggie

I'm probably going to go pick up fried chicken & fixins from Walmart. I was going to make spaghetti and meatballs but the sink is backed up so I can't really cook until DH gets home to clear it. I think it is my fault. I drained hamburger into the secondary sink last night. Whoops! I won't admit to it though if DH asks. >;)

I am going to a Jewelry party tonight and I think they are having pampered chef or some other food type person come...so I will be eating there. DFi and DS are having a pizza and XBox party tonight...Fun for all!

pulled pork sandwiches with Dinosaur BBQ sauce, corn, fries and salad...
Comfort food! It's in the crockpot now and smells so nice! :)

DS just called and said he MIGHT be coming home from school for dinner tonight. That means I need to plan on a bigger meal. He loves to eat! So I'm exploring what I have on hand to feed a crowd. ;) And then he probably won't come and we'll eat it all weekend. :rotfl:

We are driving to our country place for the weekend, so no cooking dinner for me tonight! :cool1:

But, I am bringing the stuff to make broccoli cheese soup while we are there. I love to have that on cold nights! :goodvibes (not that it will be "cold", but it will be cooler than it has been lately!)

We're going retro and making fondue for dinner tonight!

Can I also say that it's only two weeks until my Disney trip? Whoo-hoo!

DH is even luckier than me, though--he gets to Orlando on the 23rd! Granted, it is for a work conference, but the conference is being held at the Beach Club, AND his company is having a private reception in the Wonders of Life Pavillion, with both Body Wars and Cranium Command operating! How cool is that! I thought that pavillion was being used for storage...yes, I am jealous! I love Cranium Command! (Body Wars, not so much, always made me want to hurl).

I am not sure what we are having tonite. I worked today , and then took Kady to the Dr, back to work, and then me to the Dr. She says REST, so I think I will. We have plenty of leftovers in the fridge.

I've never had fondue but a new place just opened here called The Melting Pot. It is all fondue...I am dying to get there.

Woo Hoo to you as well and hubby too! How nice that he gets to go on such a great business trip! :)

All the best!
Lauren

Well, I fixed the sink. So we're having grilled chicken sandwiches and oven fries. I made lemon bars earlier today for dessert.

I had leftover take out from the Old Spaghetti Factory. Pasta with tomato sauce, bread with garlic butter and salad with balsamic dressing. I had Ciao Bella espresso gelato with Hershey's dark chocolate sauce for dessert. Yummy! :cloud9:

I'm searching the first page for ideas for dinner tomorrow (or today actually!) There are so many good things to choose from! :)
