Glynis - I just caught a bit of that press conference a while ago and my heart is just breaking for those poor families. They will all be in my prayers for the duration.

My heart is breaking for those poor people. I saw the news conference as well and I don't know what to make of him.

Dinner tonight is pasta and Paul Newman's sauce with turkey meatballs. I think the last time I did not make my own sauce I was working full time and going to school full time, so this is a major cheat for me, and I have no problem taking help from the store. I don't think I am even going to try to doctor it up.

LEMONY GARLIC BROILED CHICKEN

.

You know what? I often make this EXACT recipe, except I use thyme instead of oregano! I agree that it is really, really good. I usually use boneless chicken, and sometimes I cut it into skewers and grill it. I think I got the recipe from an Ina Garten cookbook, the original Barefoot Contessa one, I am pretty sure.

I've been having this recipe forever, not sure where I got it from. We love garlic, so I put a ton of it in there and DH & DS just go crazy for it. And it's "EASY".

Kathy That chicken sounds so good I'll have to make it as soon as it cools down into the upper 80's here. It's to hot to stand over the grill.

Glynis I saw on the internet at lunch how they were hoping to get to the miners in a couple of days. I thought  couple of days. I hope somehow they make it.

Ok I'm off to find something that won't heat up my house for dinner.

After all the moving and cleaning, you deserve an easy night!

Dinner tonight for me was a pesto, lettuce, tomato, fresh mozzarella and bacon sandwich and a piece of corn on the cob. The kids had apple cinnamon eggless pancakes, bacon, a LITTLE lettuce or corn, and watermelon.

I hear ya girlfriend, I broiled it and I'm sweating my butt off. Thankfully it only took twenty minutes. Our heat index was 110 today. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we do!:flower3:

Kathy heat index here is only 101. I have to wash my hair tonight tomorrow maybe a sick day because my hair will be to big to get out the door :rotfl2:

Tonight I sauted some chicken breasts topped with white worchester sauce, snap peas and green onion on the side. Oh piece of garlic bread. I really wanted ice cream but to hot to go back outside to the store.

Just found this thread! Wow!!! Thanks for all the great recipes!

Ladies, I thought that it was hot here, but I am not going to complain now that I know how hot you have it! Dinner was what you' would expect nothing homemade to be, and I liked it just fine :lmao:!

Tomorrow we move a bedroom set to my cousins and a computer hutch home to me and I finish washing the walls in the two front rooms :thumbsup2. After that Dan wants to move his things in on Friday. I hope that Buddy is around to help with his couch, he said it is a monster and that my niece Debbie is around as well. That girl can life almost as much as my DH. Then we will be almost done! I want to help Erica wash her things to put away but Buddy wants to cut on Saturday, I cannot be there if they're in the field. See you all tomorrow!

Tonight we had leftover buffalo chicken lasagna. Tomorrow night is leftovers again. I made both dishes (enchiladas and lasagna) in 9x13 so there would be more than enough for us for several days as it's VBS week and I'm TIRED.

I saved that lemon garlic chicken recipe!

Becky - This is my DH & DS favorite chicken dish. I either broil it or grill it.

Kathy, That is almost exactly the way I do chicken on the grill! Then I just add variations of seasonings or herbs depending on what we are going to have with it. In fact we had grilled chicken breast tonight & I added the lebanese seasoning from Mona's! Had that with grilled vidalia onions, tabouli salad, homemade hummus & pita bread (not homemade). I thought this would be cooler than heating up the house, wrong. I turned the grill on to warm up & when I went to put the chicken on the grill temp was pushing 600 degrees! It's usually around 400 & I set it exactly the same as usual!

Nancy, Take it easy there girl! Don't let Nana get to worn out!

Wendie, Your weekend sounds great! Please post some pics, I want to convince DH we need to do a driving trip up to visit y'all!

Gretchen, You know Lori & I will have plenty to talk about! You know those Nawlins girls can't keep their mouths shut! ;)

I'm checking in late, cus I really started something looking for people to share a table with at the Party for the Senses the night we'll be there. We now have a dis-meet going, that is up to 16 people just today. It's going to be a real party. :goodvibes And we are going to meet up with some of my Nola girls to cruise the F&W booths, so this should be an awesome trip!

Sheryl

Tonight I am making baked spaghetti with salad and garlic bread.

WFD at your house?

Morning Y'all,

Wanted to check in early, since I just popped a couple more benadryl, and will probably get very groggy in a bit. I developed hives overnight for some strange reason.

Kathy, Here's a pic of the grilled chicken breast marinated with rosemary this time. and roasted veggies.

Nancy, hope you're feeling better today!

Lauren, How are you doing? You've been pretty quiet lately.

Hope everyone can keep cool today!

Sheryl

Not sure WFD tonight--I'm working a 2-10 shift, so I'm sure the kids and DH will be having take-out or frozen pizza. But I thought I would share some before and after pics of my kitchen. The painting isn't 100% complete, but close enough to share with ya'll

Nice photo Sheryl! Looks yummy.

Last night's pasta came out well. Here is a photo:

And the recipe. I cut this in half and still got four servings:

2 1/2 lbs. local tomatoes, cored, seeded, and chopped
1 small clove of garlic, finely minced
1 1/4 tsp. salt
ground pepper to taste
1/3 cup olive oil
8 ounces brie, rind removed, and chopped (easier to chop if you freeze it for 20 minutes first)
2 tbsp. grated parmesean cheese
1 lb. tube shaped pasta
6 tbsp. chopped fresh chives

Mix tomatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, oil, brie, and parmesean in large bowl and set aside.

Cook pasta until al dente.

Drain pasta and immediately add to tomatoes. Mix until the pasta softens the brie. Add five tbsp. of the chives and distribute among bowls. Top with the remaining chives and serve warm or at room temperature.

After all that talk about the lemony chicken yesterday, I stopped at the store after work to get the ingredients, and got home to find that my recipe doesn't have garlic after all! Oh well, I added the garlic this time. You can't go wrong with garlic! I'm planning on serving the lemony chicken with a green salad and crusty bread.

Good Morning All!

Sheryl, I am here not too chatty lately though...we were away over the weekend and now I am in clean out closet mode. I don't think I'll be able to catch up so I think I missed alot. We are going to start doing some renovations around here so I better get organized. :)

Stephanie, your kitchen looks beautiful! :thumbsup2 Love the colors!

Glynis, thank you for the update on the miners. My prayers are with them.

Our stairs are almost done but I forgot to take a before pic. We just need to clean up some of the paint that ran under the tape and carpet. I will post when we are done.

We are having london broil, home fries and broccoli with cheese tonight.

I go to the dr today to see if there was anything wrong with my biopsy...I am sure they would have called if there were.

Have a great day my friends...
