We had all leftovers tonight. I added hot dogs to some of the baked beans and then saw so much meat int he refrigerator! Daniel sent most of the food home with us yesterday (except the chocolate chip cookies his aunt baked) and tonight I am sending some back with Erica.

She is not here tomorrow night so I am saving the garlic chicken for Thursday night. She was drooling when I told her about it.

Can I tell you that my Sis IL is totally in love :cloud9::cloud9:? She has never had anyone special, her husband was a nightmare and after they divorced she developed this very sharp edge. Well has that disappeared! I was at my MIL's today and they popped in...you notice I said they??????? It was so nice they are enchanted by each other. MIL is praying that it all works out because they are so darn cute and she is so happy.

Nancy It's great that your SIL has found happiness. Maybe one day I'll find Prince charming

The smell of the kitchen right now is amazing(garlic chicken). I hope you guys enjoy it.

It's always so special when someone who's been through a bad relationship finds that person that just lights up their world again. I wish them well!!

I need the recipe for this garlic chicken y'all are talking about! =)

Tonight we are trying breakfast pizza. I think I got it from this thread but can't remember whose it was... I'll post a review and recipe when we actually taste it and see if anyone recognizes it! =)

Hi Everyone,

Sheryl -- I am glad Alexis is feeling better. That glue is great. Caili split under her lip open a few years ago. They used that glue instead of stitches, and you can barely see where the cut was. It's great stuff!

Nancy -- I am so happy to hear about your SIL. It was a pretty exciting game last night.

Kathy -- I have always wanted to make 40 cloves of garlic chicken. It just sounds like my kind of recipe.

We had fun at the game last night. As promised, we got to be on the field for batting practice, but the kids didn't get any autographs. Our guide explained that the players are so focused now that it is the end of the season, they don't do signings as much. We got to tour the Green Monster, the new right field box seats, and the EMC Club. Then we had seats to the left of homeplate for the game. It was an exciting game. Caili and Liam were dancing in their seats when Lowell hit a three run homerun in the bottom of the first to take the lead 3-1. When we left, after the fifth inning, it was 10-1. When we got to the car, it was 10-4. By the time we left Boston, it was 10-9. It wasn't exactly a pitcher's duel. They did end up winning, though, so the night ended on a positive note.

As for dinner, I had an Italian sausage sub. It was edible.

Tonight, we had pasta with cherry tomato sauce and Becky's cheesy garlic bread.

I have some pictures from the game and Liam's first day of school that I will try to post tomorrow. My computer was acting up today.

Hi, I just found this thread and I am enjoying reading everyones recipes because I find myself having the same things all the time.
So, tonight I tried a new recipe, Chicken Tortilla Lasagna. It was pretty tasty and the family enjoyed it. I hope to learn a lot of new things to cook.

Okay lady! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I am so ready to pay you big bucks to come down to N'awlins & cook for your Nola girlfriends!!! :cool1: You are too awesome!!!

Okay - playing serious catch-up here - but this needed an immediate reply.

I'm game - Sheryl - what's my share of this expense??:woohoo:

Sounds yummy, what's the recipe??

I took a try at making my out tomato sauce with fresh garden tomatoes. Not too bad!

The breakfast pizza was yummy! I swear it was one of y'alls - recognize it anyone? I'm way too lazy to scroll through that entire first post and find it =)

My changes: I don't do onions and peppers so I cut that, I just eyeball everything, and when I did the eggs the 5 didn't seem to stretch very far so I did 3 more. This also meant I had to cook it quite a bit longer but it was very yummy!! DH slathered his with sour cream and salsa and he was a happy camper.

(I usually hate sausage and I even liked it)

Breakfast Pizza

16 oz. roll Jimmy Dean sausage
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 regular size can Pillsbury crescent rolls
1 cup frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
small can mushrooms, drained
5 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Preheat oven to 375°. In a large skillet, break up and cook sausage, onion and green pepper until sausage is no longer pink, drain. Place crescent rolls in a greased 9x13 pan, push dough up the sides about 1 inch. Make sure any holes in the dough are sealed. Layer the sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, and cheese on the crescent dough. In a bowl beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper together, then pour evenly over the "pizza". Bake for 25 minutes or until egg is set. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving

Tonight it's jambasta leftovers and bread. I did a really cool thing with the bread. It rocked! Here's the recipe, it's a knock-off of a Rachael Ray:

Black Pepper Cheese Bread

1 loaf semolina bread (I used French)
EVOO
About 1/2 grated Parmigianno Reggiano cheese (I used a combo of this one plus some asiago)
Black pepper
Spray butter

Preheat oven to 425.

Slice bread and place on baking sheet. Spray with spray butter as much as desired. Toast bread on both sides in the oven. After toasting, drizzle with EVOO and top with cheese and pepper. Put back in oven for about 1 minute to melt the cheese.

:love::love::love::love:

WFD at your house?

I actually had to work today with the DIS boards being down.:rotfl:

Tonight we're having meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn.

I gave in with the boards being down, and ran errands I have put off for days...Kris will know something happened to the dis, when he sees the papergoods cupboard stocked:rotfl:

Ross just came home, and I told him the "Miss Kathy" is having meatloaf for her supper tonight, and he said "Well then I am heading to New Orleans".:goodvibes
I knew this would get him as this is a boy who looooooves him some meatloaf..I will have to make it this week....I have to pick up some brown sugar, as I use that in my glaze on top.

Tonight we have football, and parent open house at school, so I made a chicken noodle soup in the crock pot, and it will be ready to eat when we get in....I have some nice crusty bread from the local bread shop to go with it too........should be good, as we will be in the 50's this evening.....past few days have been what I call "apple picking weather".......it will be humid and in the 90's for the weekend though....gotta love the Maine weather, lol!

You tell Ross he's welcome down here anytime.;) I'd kill for some apple-picking weather.:woohoo:

Hi all! Boy I missed you guys!

Kathy I had to work also I hate that.;)

Tonight is Taco night

Dinner last night was really yummy! I did the Brown Sugar pork chops and DH and I loved them. Katie did, too. The other 3 thought there was too much "spice" on the chops. Good to know. Next time, I'll lower the amount of seasoning even more.

Glad you liked them. Our youngest DD thinks they are "too hot" no matter what I have done. She usually ends up with PB&J on the nights I make them.

I just heard on the new Krispy Kreme is filing capter 11. Quick tell your husband to pick up the slack! ;)

I don't think he needs any encouragement, but I'll pass the message along. :rotfl:

Last night we had baked grouper with a Monterrey Jack cheese and red pepper/onion/mushroom sauce. The recipe called for pouring the sauce on the grouper before baking. Well, the recipe had the timing off and it had to bake much longer than I anticipated, breaking the sauce. I think the individual components were good, so next time, I'll sautee the fish and add the sauce after cooking.

Tonight I'm trying a new chicken dish. If it's good, I'll let you know.

Gretchen

Miniefan and GypsySue- Glad to see you here. Please post often and share your recipes with us.

The DIS was down so I had to get busy too. I broke down and washed the truck...just the outside of that monster and as high as I could reach with the stool :rotfl2:You can see where I just could not reach and I was not climbing in the bed like DS suggested

I made chicken soup with Israeli couscous for Kady. She is asking for her third bowl. She will not eat in school and refuses breakfast so I am trying to find something she will at least try. She says she will eat the soup if I pack it for her. We'll see.
Tonight is a new recipe. A pork chop casserole, pork chops over sliced potato and onions. I'll fix some kind of veggie and slice some cucumbers and tomatoes.
