"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I was really rather unimpressed. For a season finale, it was incredibly slow there for a bit. And if vampires and humans can't marry, why would Bill ask Sookie to marry him? :confused3 I found the whole thing pretty disappointing after a fairly good season. I was glad to see the maenad finally bite the dust.

My favorite part was when Jason was quoting movie lines and said, "I love the smell of nail polish in the morning." :lmao:

I think that was the point of the airline tickets to Vermont. Vermont is the only state in which humans and vampires can marry.

As for the "gift"....are you talking about the dress?

The ring. The show is so far off the books! I can see making little changes, but not huge ones.

Yeah. I really enjoyed the books, but I am enjoying the show as well. I like the changes....it keeps me in suspense.

One thing that bugged me was when Jason went under Marianne's influence. Shouldn't he be "immune" like Sookie was?

The ring and the dress and the fancy dinner seemed far off to me. One reason I prefer Eric to Bill in the books is because Eric pays attention to Sookie and what she needs (money, gravel, a new coat) while Bill was just always oblivious.

Of course, the series is so different from the books anyway that I just sort of take them as totally separate things with the same characters.

Mickey Fliers- Thanks for explaining the Vermont thing. I was kind of bored at that point and irritated with the way the story was headed.

I am SOOOOO disappointed!

We had, what, a whole minute of Eric??? What was that all about??? I complained through the whole show.
Sing it, Sistah! Eric was supposed to be with Sookie at the maenad's demise... in his hot pink spandex. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
I thought the finale was great... I cried for the last 10 minutes with all that happened...

Can I ask are the books just as good as the show? I would love to read them...
Even better... you get to see more inside the character's heads. But, be warned, the show is just loosely based on the books.

That's what I figured with the tickets to Vermont.

Is that Bill's only way he can keep Sookie from Eric? By getting her to marry him? I predict that Bill will tell on Eric to the queen and he'll get in trouble for it, leaving Sookie free to be pursued by Eric. OK, so maybe she'll get pulled into Eric's devices even more when she goes to him for help to find Bill. I thought Bill's disappearance was a great cliffhanger!

I like Andy better sober. I like that he told Jason to get lost after he shot Eggs. Maybe the removal of Eggs will let JB be introduced into the storyline for Tara?

Lafayette looked beautiful in his womanly toga last night. :rotfl: I couldn't believe that when he told Sookie that he has 1,000 year old vampire blood in him, she didn't tell him that she does to, so bring it on.

I forgot about that. Maybe they'll explain that the same way they explain the were stuff. Only the first child gets the genes passed to them. ACK! On second thought, maybe the blood that runs in Sookie and Jason's blood is random in which child it picks since Jason is older.

I can explain this away because the dress, dinner and ring were for Bill's ultimate benefit. The money, gravel, coat, etc., were for Sookie's benefit. KWIM?

Oh, and Sam's new quest to find his birth parents is interesting. He can finally be at peace with his shifting abilities when he meets his birth parents.

The "wedding" totally lost me ... If Maryanne is a maenad ... well, I don't think she would have gone with the chamber music, wedding dress, etc. I think she would have been sans clothes to meet her god (if not, just maybe a diaphanous throw ...) Her end was great though -- it would have been better if it had ended up being her and Sam standing there, au natural.

And I think it was a *great* misdirect as to Bill's disappearance. Eric telling the queen he would "take care of Bill Compton" -- betcha it wasn't him. Betcha it was "someone" else with a bone to pick with Bill (and if they follow the book, we know who that is and it's better than Eric).

But, you know ... if I were Sookie -- I'd be burning that house to the ground and starting fresh, even if it had to be a trailer.

We enjoyed the nail polish line, too -- Jason had some great lines last night.

So us non book readers have to guess.;) OK....it has to be his maker then.

Anyone else notice the hands were gloved using the silver chain on Bill in the restaurant?

Ok I stepped out of the room and missed the ending. Can someone PM me or tell me here what happened? Did Bill get taken by someone with chains? :confused3

Well, that DOES make me feel better about it.

So, for the book readers, did anyone else notice that Sophie Anne told Eric not to ever drink Sookie's blood? Do you think we're headed in the same direction as the books in that there's a reason why Sookie is so attractive to vampires?

I hope we are heading in the same direction as the books. It is hard to say though.

The finale was okay. I kept waiting for Eric to appear with Sookie (and maybe Lafayette?) in distress.

I'm just happy to see Mariann dead. I would have stomped on her corpse. lol

I hope so. I want to see... what was his name? Nigel, Nivert? I can't remember, but you know who I mean. I also want to see how they'd respresent Claudine and Claude.

I loved Claudine in the books. It would be fun to see someone play her.

I'm really reaching, but could the fine boutique worker that delivered Sookie's dress be a prelude to the Alcide storyline? I hope they wouldn't introduce Alcide before more Eric, but there will probably be more 'supes' next season.

I agree that the episode dragged abit in the middle. The Maryann story ended at 9:29, I looked at the clock. They did that happy ending wrap up they did like the first season finale. Then the story dragged.

I'm thinking Eric hired someone to get rid of Bill. He wouldn't be so obvious. Especially if he's trying to get on Sookie's good side.
