"The Official 'True Blood' Vampire Thread" ...spoilers included.

I went out this week and bought the first book of the series...now I'm even more hooked! I read it in a day!:thumbsup2

Question though...I didn't see much mention of Tara. What's up with that...?

I liked the way Tara shows up in the books a lot more than how she is ALWAYS showing up in the series.

Jason, Jason, Jason. :confused3 The story just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I definitely liked Pam's glamouring of Jason.

I also liked Eric telling the fangbanger that she could take his picture... "but I didn't tell you that you could keep it."

Readers, wasn't Eric always in a booth when he wasn't in his office? I can't recall that he ever had a thrown in the books, though, the thrown fits and adds to his aloof personality.

I can't remember from the book, either, how the fire is resolved, though I do remember it occurring in the book. If someone wants to PM me about that, I'd appreciate it.

Rats, I forgot to watch it last night. I'll catch it on On Demand (hopefully tonight!) and check in later. :thumbsup2

RUDisney, I'm blanking on the fire but after I watch tonight, perhaps I'll remember more. ;) But no, Eric always sat in a booth--I don't remember him having a throne. Although I'm sure he would have enjoyed one if he'd thought of it. :rotfl:

I PM'd you the info from the book about the fire. I'm just hoping they keep to the hot reunion. :thumbsup2

Absolutely room for more folks on here! Welcome!

I watched the show this morning and I agree with you, RUDisney, when you say, "Jason, Jason, Jason." :lmao: He annoys me even more on the show than he did in the books.

Loved another glimpse of Eric. I am just dying to see Pam in her "non-working" clothes.

I only really liked Jason from the books for the brief period during and after he was in Hot Shot for the first time. He's just an unappealing character, though the actor who plays him isn't hard on the eyes.

And the actor is so much hotter in real life than the character. HBO has a special behind the scenes show on demand that details the premier of the show. You get to see the actual actors and Jason and Bill are both British! (or Australian, can't remember now!) But Jason was so hot with his accent and all. And Bill, or Stephen, well, he is now my fantasy guy. I also read that he and Sookie are dating in real life.

I keep getting Jason confused with Sam. They look too much alike with the dirty blonde hair and the scruffy, semi-beard.

That's not hard to understand after that first scene this week. I'm not used to watching original series stuff on HBO. Wow! What I've been missing! :thumbsup2

I only hope they don't break up and it becomes a Jennifer Garner/Michael Vartan situation where after they broke up, she was practically frozen with him, even on screen, and all the hot chemistry was gone. You could tell she didn't want him touching her. Vartan always looked so pained at the end, mooning over her. And as producer, Garner had Vartan written out of the show, until it became apparent the show had tanked. :sad2: Between that and her getting pregnant, that ended the series. :sad2:

That is a problem with actors dating each other on a series. I loved the chemistry between Garner and Vartan at the beginning. Then it just became awkward and heartbreaking to watch him. I lost interest in the show because of it and stopped liking her much as an actress. Now I like her after seeing what a nice, normal mom she is. Yeah, their private lives tend to change my opinion of them as actors. :rolleyes1

That's a very dangerous thing to admit on the Dis. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I mean, that you have opinions about other people's lives. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ;)

Interesting about Sookie and Bill. They seemed to be very comfortable being nekkid together.

:rotfl2: When he was getting into the tub, I wondered how she felt having his jewels waving in her face like that. Well, now we know!

Well I looked at the local libraries around town and wouldn't ya know.. ALL the books are checked out!! Grrrr :headache:

I do plan to read them as they sound very interesting and I can't wait for spoliers so I can tease DH with them.. :rolleyes1

I read him all the posts on this thread and he laughed at several of your comments.. I am so glad he is enjoying this as much as I am..

:thumbsup2

I bought the first book, but it's probably not anything I'll stick with.

And ya'll can shoot me if you want, but I kind of like Tara. :duck: :duck:

Me too! I went through the same thing. I lost a lot of respect for her when she had Vartan written out of the show. By then, she was seeing Affleck & seemed to become all Hollywood, becoming a Hollywood couple.

But then, someone here gave a link to pictures of their kid, Violet, and seeing how normal Jen is at the park, constantly wearing baggy-type sweats, a beat-up backpack to hold her kid's stuff, even knowing the paparazzi would photograph her, I realise she's just a normal mom after all. I started liking her again. :rotfl:

I wonder if they coupled up before or after filming that steamy scene. :teeth:

Don't worry! I like her too actually, because you know she's so vulnerable underneath that brassy exterior. I like to see her interacting with her mother, you can tell she's a bit broken.

On a different note, I haven't read the books, so maybe it's different in them, but this show seems all over the place to me. I really enjoy it, don't get me wrong. But sometimes, I'm just like, 'what is going on?!' I'm lost on the central plot at this point. I think I'm focusing on the wrong things.

That's because the show is focusing on a lot of things that were never in the book. The central storyline is about Sookie and her relationship with Bill and the fact that she's a telepath and there are several murders in Bon Temps that can be attributed to either Bill or her brother. Aside from that, the rest is just fluff for the screen.

I don't mind the Tara story line in the show, but I am really getting sick of Sookie's brother. He always looks like he hasn't showered in days and I don't understand how he keeps getting any women with that look (okay, he is hot underneath the grimey exterior, but still!)

At least once during ever show, I have to say that Bill is certainly not Edward Cullen. I like Bill, but he has to re-learn how to live with humans.

I am reading the books too, but I only got through chapter 1 so far.
