Don't ask.... like they say on the AI boards.."School's Out!"

LIZARD QUEEN... WELCOME!! And thanks for supporting our guy, dontcha just LOVE that song???? It KILLS me!

DG, you nut! I love Prince, too, in fact, back in 1986 deliberately became "friends" with a neighbor who was dating a guy in his band. All I wanted was a chance to meet Prince. She took me to a concert (back in the Purple Rain days) and I WAS SHOCKED at his height. This was before I met Elton John and I had NEVER met a man who was my height... 4ft11"...EVER!!!! He's teenie!!!

Great story about the Leno show. I continue to hear some of the great things about his character, it just convinces me how right on I was about him. His humility literally KILLS me, it is SUCH a turn on.

I'm a HUGE Prince fan, so even though this thread is for Tay, I thought these were some nice shots....

And possibly the best one....it rocks my socks....

Great photos!!! You're right about this one though. It had me :faint:

There is only one Prince! :teeth:

I know! No wonder he wears those high heels! LOL :) I got to see him on his Musicology Tour in Seattle. It was one the BEST, most entertaining shows I've been to! And I've been to a lot! :D

AMEN sister! The more I learn about him, the more :lovestruc I become!!

Oh yes...HAPPY SATURTAY!!

Wanted to share this with all you Taylor Hicks fans. I'm the PA State Director for Give 2 The Troops - so I get a lot of donations sent to my house for me to send off to deployed units.

So yesterday - I get a box from Amazon. I thought it was a book that I ordered. I opened it up and inside were 10 of Taylors CD with the songs "Do I Make You Proud" & "Takin It To The Streets" on it. On the order form - there was a personalized note for each CD that said: -

"To: American Soldiers: A gift of love and a beautiful song from those of us in Canada who appreciate your great bravery and sacrifices. Yes, you make us all proud!

It was from woman that lives in Calgary! I THOUGHT THIS WAS ONE OF THE NICEST THINGS EVER SENT FOR ME TO SEND TO THE TROOPS!!!

Wasn't that awesome?! :thumbsup2

Aww, that is SO great!! I've heard a lot of Soul Patrollers doing this for the troops. We are truly proud of them and nothing says that more than "Do I Make You Proud." :) I have a feeling you'll be getting more in the future ;)

USA! USA! :cheer2:

ATTENTION!

AWESOME, AWESOME interview with Gray from graycharles.com with Taylor HERE! (I cannot believe he spoke on the phone with him...I'm so jealous.)

Be warned though. This is RAW Taylor. Many are arguing over his "potty mouth" which I find completely asanine (just MHO). I've commented and all I'll say is this: Taylor is not an angel (learned this from my visit to B'Ham and Marty's.). But then again....who is?? :confused3

Enjoy...the real Taylor Hicks.

Anyone who ever travelled on the road with a bunch of musicians KNOWS that this is the way they talk!

In fact I LOVE IT!! But I'm from NY..go figure!!

Part Five is up. Yesterday there was so much traffic to the site it went down several times. I downloaded them to a document just in case the entire site goes down.

Transparent, that is an AWESOME story!!! Friday a soldier in camouflage opened the door for me, I just beat myself up that I didn't have a cd to hand him!! Perfect way to let them know....

oh yes and

Happy SunTAY everyone!!!

Thanks for letting us know! I haven't been checking Gray daily anymore, so I might have missed this.

One part that stuck out for ME was that he'll be doing abou 7 songs during the AI concert! :Pinkbounc I was prepared for only about 3 or 4 from him. yea - 2.5 weeks to go!

PS I have a Taylor potty mouth too I guess. Didn't offend me at all.

Good idea about saving the interview! Gonna do that right now! Hope my "Taylor" folder can take it. Last time when I tried to save something to it, the computer actually said to me "you SERIOUSLY have more stuff to put in here???" :rotfl:

I seriously love this interview. It's the real him. And I sometimes have "potty mouth" too, so we'd gel real well! :) I love how he talks about his music. He's amazing.

Happy SunTAY!!

Okay, this is off topic but I need some advice from my DIS SP friends....

The current situation with myself and my S.O. is that we are living together, but seperate rooms. I plan on moving out on Sept. 1st when the lease is up, but my connudrum is this...my younger brother and his fiance are coming down to visit me in....5 days. :scared1: (OMG....I just realized....5 DAYS!!)

So, they were originally intending on staying with us, except for two nights when they were going to go up to Myrtle Beach. However, my S.O. is being, in my opinion, unreasonable, and wants nothing to do with them and doesn't want them here because "it's his place, too."

So I was thinking I'd try to book them a hotel, kind of like an extended hotel around here, thinking it shouldn't be TOO expensive, between $200 - $300. I was going to pay for most of it, maybe all of it if my brother couldn't chip in (they are poor college students, also planning a wedding). Well, I go to check out rates and we're looking more like $400 plus! Unless I want them to stay in a motel with roaches.... :sad2:

I don't know WHAT to do! I can afford this, but it'll be a big ding in my funds :( I feel like I'm hanging over the edge of a cliff, grasping vines to hang on and not fall! I haven't told my brother yet about this. I also don't want them to feel uncomfortable here, too. We're not screaming at each other, but you know how it is when there's tension between people - it can make you feel very awkward. :(

So, what should I do? Take the blow and get them a hotel? I think I'm going to talk to my brother about it today and see what he thinks. ARGH! Timing of this really stinks. :( Okay...suggestions NEEDED, SP! Thank you!! (sorry for the long post!)

DG, sweetie...hold ON!!! Hotel fanatic to the rescue!!

Have you ever tried Priceline? If not it's not that scary, I could hold your hand thru it.
First, go on www.biddingfortravel.com and see if there are any hotels 2 - 3 stars in your area. If not you can try www.hotelkingdom.com or www.hotwire.com

If none of these work, let me know. There is ALWAYS a way to get a hotel... take it from the single Mom who has been in 39 DIFFERENT hotels since 1999! Ask my son!

Thanks Robbin! I'll look at those as soon as I get out of the shower!! I worked out for 2 hours straight (to clear my head) then just moved my stuff into the spare bedroom (not fun :guilty: ) Needless to say, I stink pretty badly! :rotfl2:

I knew I could count on my SP friends! :grouphug: Back later with a report!

Great, let me know if you need any help. It IS a holiday weekend so it may be tight but I DON'T THINK... correct me if I'm wrong, that your area is a tourist trap during the holidays... :p

BTW, I see that pic in your sig about how he was LOOKING AT YOU!! You are a mess!
:lmao:

Okay, hotwire seems to be the best one. They found a 2.5 star one for $55 a night, total $314.77 including tax. They say it's like Holiday Inn Xpress or Amerisuites...those are good, usually. I have to tell my brother before I book....hopefully he won't be too mad. :(

Back with more!

Oh yes, to keep this thread Taylor related...

SOUL PATROL! SOUL PATROL!! :cool1:

Haha! YES I AM!!

I just realized I mispelled your name up there. I'm sorry! I just work with a Robbin that spells it with two B's so I'm used to typing it that way. Trust me, I am a stickler for people spelling my name correctly. With it being "Christiana" you can imagine how many mispellings I get! LOL

That's a pretty good rate for a holiday week, especially for a 2.5 because it usually includes a breakfast or a micro/fridge.

Did you try Priceline? They can be cheaper IF you can win the bid.

And btw, if OT posts killed threads on the DIS, 9/10ths of the idiocy on this board would've been recycled! Luckily they aren't as anal as the AI boards!!!

I'm skeered of Priceline! LOL

I left a message for my brother to call me...have to drop the bomb on him before I book. But, if I were him, I'd actually prefer a hotel (esp. if someone was paying for it) b/c you can hang out and walk around in your undies if you want. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I wish the boy would call me back! :furious: *tapping foot*

Great interview. As for the language well, geeez, he's an adult and is speaking his mind. People just need to get over themselves if they're offended. Or come out of the box they've been living in.

I can't wait for part 7!! :thumbsup2

Amen to that. I, personally, love him all the more for his being "real." I think too many people hold him on a pedestal of being this saintly man, when he isn't. We know he's a good guy -- but aren't all good people a little bad sometimes? :teeth:

I loved this from part 6....

This is me talking.

“So Taylor, here is what I’m hearing you say. You planned your songs, your performances, your clothes, everything, we’ve pretty much established that correct?”

Taylor, “Yes”

Me, “So your JOB, as it were, was to perform, correct?”

Taylor, “Yes”

Me, “The way you see it, Simon had a job as well and his job was also to perform correct?”

Taylor, “Yes”

Me, “During the entire run of the American Idol show, did you ever change your performance style, song selection or anything else based on Simon’s commentary or criticism?”

Taylor, “Nope, never.”

I LOVE THAT! Taylor just made it "do what it do, baby!" And THAT, my friends, is why he won! No compromising. No BS. TAYLOR HICKS and that is it.

To use a phrase I use a lot....Taylor rocks my socks! BIG time!

Here's a little eye candy for the close of a very Taylorized weekend...

Love this one...
