The OFFICIAL Simpsons Ride review thread

I still think Its smoother then BTTF.But yes its still a chase that wont change...

Well we made it over to the Simpson's ride last Monday about an hour before the park was closing - I was so excited to see it was open AND only a 30 minute wait!! We got into line and like 10 minutes later they said they were having mechanical problems and the ride was temporarily closed down. I was soooo bummed! So we were back at Universal on Sunday and although we weren't thrilled with the 75 minute wait, there's no way we weren't going on. Having the Simpsons to watch while you're stuck in queue def helps. My fave Homer moment was his "haircut" lolol

I was worried about the ride because I had gone on BTTF two years ago & you couldn't have paid me to get onto it for a second ride. It was soooo jerky & I got very motion sick. I just didn't like it AT ALL. I did not like the Star Wars ride at Disney Studios or the Arctic Helicopter ride at Seaworld either - both made me very nauseated. Simpson's ride is a completely different story - I was sooooo impressed. I didn't think it was anything even close to the jerkiness of the BTTF ride. The ride was so much smoother and the video screen is just AWESOME!!

The only thing I was a little disappointed in was that if you're in the front row on the end (not sure about the other seats) & look a little to the side, you can see the other vehicles. Not a huge deal but I did think it took away from the overall realism of the ride. Other than that I give it a big thumbs up and would rate it a 6.5 out of 10. That's a really high score for me on this type of ride - I am DEF a roller coaster kind of girl. If the wait wasn't so long, we would have def gone on for a second ride! :thumbsup2

The effects were awesome like getting little water sprinkles on you and smelling Maggies diaper or what smelled like a babies diaper at one part.
Diaper smell? Ick! Hubby is trying to convince me to join him at the passholders event this weekend, but I dunno if I want to smell baby diapers in the morning (or any time, really).

My dh, dd15, dd8 went on it this past Saturday. They waited 65 minutes right after park opening. dd15 got sick and wouldn't ride anything the rest of the day. . . matter of fact, I finally took her back to the hotel mid-afternoon.

dh and dd8 loved it, but dh did say it made him a little dizzy. Both dh and dd15 get motion sick. They had taken medication earlier in the week, but HATED the way it made them tired, so refused to do it again.

My dd11 didn't want to ride, so I took one for the team and she and I went on MIB instead :thumbsup2

Yep. It's baby powder you smell not a dirty diaper.

more like a baby lotion smell, not a diaper smell.

Express is open for Simpsons... Just got back from an overnight at Royal Pacific. I was very pleased to be able to re-ride so easily!

:yay: Did you do the standby queue to be able to make any comparisons?? (You know how you "miss" things when you EP  )

I had done it the week before when I went for a day trip with friends. Honestly, I don't think you miss a lot for this ride... The video in the queue is Simpsons carnival type clips with ride centric ones. I am sure we will be able to see it on the internet eventually. The important videos are all in the loading areas... :)

I'm going to wdw tommorro and I'm thinking of visiting uso on friday morning just to ride. Is it true that you have to be a uso ap holder to ride? If so that would be a waste of my money and time. If not what are the requierements to ride? Just show up? EP would not be an issue...............

thanks!

The ride is currently open but it's still in "technical rehearsal" so anyone can ride. Please keep in mind the ride could close at any time so nothing is guaranteed. This weekend (5/10 & 5/11) is only for passholders from 8-9am...then anyone can ride.

I just got something in the mail about the AP preview this weekend. Just a bit late for me to make if from Chicago :lmao:

But I can't wait to ride it in August!!!

Do you know...I live 20 mins from Universal and STILL haven't received anything about this weekend! I've checked the website and they have all my mailing information correct. I pity the fool who will have to deal with me on Saturday when I yell at them for NOT sending anything out! :snooty:  :sad2:
