*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

Well I tried to move things around to work the Frozen dessert party into our plans and I just can't find a way to fit it in. I'm too happy with things the way they are to justify it. Guess I am done with the planning! All I can do now is wait and pack and I do not like to do either! :p

ETA: my finalized ADR list:

9/1--arrival day--Chef Mickey's 2:25pm
9/2--BoG -12:45pm
9/3--Garden Grill --8:15am/ Trail's End --6:15pm
9/4-- Early Morning Magic breakfast :)
9/5--Crystal Palace --9:20am
9/6--SciFi 12:55pm/ Via Napoli 6:20pm
9/7--Boma--5:50p
9/8--departure day --The Plaza 12:05pm

We don't usually make this many ADRs, but our park touring style will be different this trip. We really want to be able to sit and enjoy some of our meals without fighting for tables and dealing with outdoor seating.

We've usually only had one or two reservations during our trips, but this time we upgraded to DDP so now we have no less 21 TS reservations or 23 if you count the Mickey's BBQ and Dine with Animal Specialist that is paid for.

Nothing pertaining to your post .... I just had to say I Love your Avatar! We are Dachshund lovers and your avatar gets my attention every single time I see it!
This is my Dixie Belle .....

Okay, Back to topic :)
Thanks! I have since added a 3rd dachsie so should try to get a pic of all three and get it on here. Love yours too!

ETA - Apparently I don't know how to add picture on here. :( Was trying to post one of puppy

31 days to go-- this time next month, I should be cozy in my room at French Quarter having finished up and returned from dinner at Boma.

Made my first (and probably only) major Disney-related purchase today (that wasn't the vacation itself, I suppose)-- bought a Canon G7X Mk II camera to have something light and easy to carry around the parks.

I enjoy taking pictures around the parks-- last year, I brought my Fuji X-T2 and got some good pictures, but found it was too cumbersome to carry around all day (since I felt like I needed to have a backpack along too, to have someplace to put it if it rains, or while I'm on rides). So I'm giving a smaller camera a try this time-- probably still carry a bag (need something to put a poncho and stuff in), but a much smaller one that hopefully doesn't make me quite as sweaty.

Still might bring the X-T2 (gotta make sure I can get those awesome Kilimanjaro Safaris pics ;)), but now I've got something I can carry when I don't want to lug around the big camera.
My last trip to Disney I brought my camera. Then I realized my iPhone was taking such good pics, even of fireworks, that I left it in the room and just used the phone

ETA = how did my pic from previous post get on this one???

Y'all today we are 30 days from our trip!! We booked the FEA and it happened to be open on the perfect day for our planning. I am SUPER sick with a lovely summer flu, that DD gave me and is mostly over by now, but it's not stopped us from putting up our countdown chain, collecting things for our Tinker Trades and packing!!

I'm so excited!!!

We are 31 days.

And like you, are so excited.

38 more days!! Still debating on if we tell the kids (DS 3 & 6) the night before we leave or at the airport, flight leaves at 6:30am. They will be super excited either way, this is our second trip. I have been making them shirts in secret :ssst:

We surprised our kids (10 & 6) last year with a trip. It was part of their Christmas gift, but we had a week before we left. We wrapped up different elements of the trip into small numbered boxes and put them all in one big box. They had to open each element of the trip (countdown, airline tickets (fake), park tickets (fake), t-shirt for the park, spending $, a letter explaining everything, etc.). They still talk about how fun it was to find out about going on the trip, as much fun as the trip itself. So I don't think it matters WHEN you tell them, because it will be memorable to be surprised with a trip to Disney!

I'm not sure. I bought some on Etsy. :)

Cute, love Etsy, my mom sells vintage jewelry there! I may hunt there a bit...

Passports?

They hand out something for Food and Wine, that has stickers and pages for eat location.

Or do you mean simply for Epcot?

Did not know that, but glad to learn it! They used to sell them at the start of World Showcase, to get a sticker/stamp in each country. It’s for DD so not sure she’ll be into a ff&w one, lol!

Thanks! MOm’s Panel also said they should be available in park. Using all my resources!

I ordered one for DD (and yes, one for me too) on the DisneyParks App (not ShopDisney.com). Just checked and out of stock online BUT the app shows what shops have them in stock and literally every country has a shop that shows in stock. Based on that I would think you will have no trouble getting them at Epcot.

Check your days, people! Hours have been updated again.
Doesn't look like any changes for my trip (9/8-9/15).

I'm hoping they'll extend Animal Kingdom hours a bit in the evening-- they have the park closing at 8:30, which is before Rivers of Light those nights (8:45). Last year (same week), Animal Kingdom closed at 9 with Rivers of Light at the same time.

[EDIT] Just got a Touringplans email about an hours change (which wasn't up on Touringplans or Disney's website when I checked earlier). Doesn't impact me, though-- they only changed hours on the two Saturdays (9/8 and 9/15), and I'm not planning on either one being a park day.
