***The official September, 2016 Thread !!!***

We're going back again for Sept./Oct time frame and probably will be attending MNSSHP one day as well. I'm not thinking we'll be getting the photo package as I think it is too expensive. The weather is usually quite hot in this time but we are used to it after so many years staying there. I just hope the hurricane season is a mild one!!

For those that like Dinosaur. Kenny the Pirate just listed that Dinosaur will be closed for refurbishments from July 25-Sept. 29th. I am sad-BTMRR will be closed and now Dinosaur-2 of my favorite rides >:(

I just saw this on Facebook. I am NOT impressed!

Oh no! This makes me sad. I couldn't go on this last year as I was preggo. I was so looking forward to it. I'm also upset that BTMRR and IT's a Small World will be closed also. Boo...

September 30th will be our last day, are closure dates generally pretty accurate? If so, we may have a shot to ride it on our last day...:worship:

Someone asked that to Kenny and he said sometimes they open early, sometimes they open late too.

Hello! Disney World FIRST TIMER here! Disneyland is my main park and, as I'm sure is the norm around here, I figured it was time to check out what the other coast had to offer. I'll be there from September 17th - 24th (8 days is a good number for a first trip, right? Especially if you're already familiar with Disney), and I have to say, I'm interested in checking out how different the vibe really is!

Outside of all of the stuff people tell me to be excited for (Haunted Mansion, completely different Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Test Track, Everest, etc. etc. etc.), I think I'm mostly interested to see how different Florida's weather is? Heard it's pretty humid, even in September...

Ah well, it should be a lot of fun!

One quick question though; so far on the refurbishments list Big Thunder Mountain has been listed, which is fine, it's Big Thunder, I know Big Thunder well, it's the exact same ride, down to the announcer, but the recent Dinosaur announcement was one that really had be a bit bummed; I know it isn't Test Track or Mission Space, but how much am I missing with Dinosaur being out of commission? I want to experience as much of the stuff unique to World as possible in this one trip, because I don't know if I'll be able to get back for a while...

EDIT: I'm also staying at the Pop Century Resort, if that matters

Yes, September is crazy humid. Crazy, crazy humid. Very different weather from S. California.

As for Dinosaur, it's fun but missing it isn't that big of a deal. I personally don't consider it one of the premier rides. It's a bummer since you want to focus on things that are different between WDW and DL but Dinosaur is basically the same as Indiana Jones, just with a different story line and decor. So you aren't missing something radically different than what you are used to.

Have fun on your trip!

QUESTION: What time are the fireworks on weeknights? We are going on 9/2 MK 9/3 AK 9/4 HS. I don't want to miss fireworks but we aren't doing the "extended hours"
Will we miss the fireworks and the parade?

No. The Fireworks and parade are before extra magic hours start. I don't have the exact times for those days as i can't get into the TA website currently (mainly because i don't have it bookmarked and i'm at work), but they are always before extra magic hours.

AK has extended their hours until 11pm up until 9/5. Still the same 5pm closure after. Can't wait to try all of this new stuff!!

Thank you! I plan on it!

And I've heard as much as about Dinosaur; I've even watched the video on YouTube, but I've always been curious as to how different of an experience it could actually be...eh, who knows, I'm sure I can squeeze a quick 3-4 day trip back to the World at some point in the future!

Truth be told, I'm most interested in a lot of the stuff at EPCOT; stuff like Journey Into Imagination and Spaceship Earth and the like; Disney cheese is the best cheese on Earth

I'll be in DW from 5th to 16th september, and I'll stay at the Beach Club! Can't wait :D

to me, having Dinosaur closed it's really sad...I love that dark ride. As for BTM, it's not a big deal I think..not my favorite coaster :)
To me too would be the first time in september, I'm hoping the weather will be ok (I know it will rain a lot xD).

The weather sucks. But the low crowds make it worth it. But still, like I said earlier, of our 8 September trips, only one was a washout. And we still didn't even regret it. Grab a poncho and have fun. For the most part, almost every trip just had a quick afternoon shower, sometimes nothing even though it forecast 80%. So don't look at the forecast before you go. You will be depressed for nothing.

We're (me, DH, DS16, and DD13) staying at the Swan from 9/3-9/10. We've never been in September and are a little wary of the rain and heat. I'm from south AL, so I'm very familiar with our weather patterns. It'll be worth it though! Coincidentally my mom and her first cousin are going to be there the same week to watch the Ole Miss/FSU football game. They're staying at Coronado Springs and getting FD. Very exciting!
